Abstract: A tied server includes a first storage unit that stores appearance patterns of messages having a transaction identifier to identify a transaction. The tied server also includes a second storage unit that stores messages executed on the transaction DB server having the transaction ID by the application server and communicated between an application server and a DB server. The tied server classifies the messages stored in the second storage unit with respect to each transaction based on the appearance patterns of the messages stored in the first storage unit.

Abstract: Provided is an information processing system capable of grouping objects without needing to pre-define a group associated with a sorting condition. A determination unit determines whether or not one of a first object and a second object different from the first object is included in a determination region that is set based on a position of another one of the first object and the second object. A grouping unit groups the first object and the second object based on a result of a comparison between the attribute information associated with the first object and the attribute information associated with the second object in a case where it is determined that the one of the first object and the second object is included in the determination region.

Abstract: A content recommendation system includes: an attribute value storage means which stores one or more attribute values of attributes for each content; a preference distribution storage means which stores a user preference degree for each attribute value; an attribute value acquisition means which acquires an attribute value of at least one attribute for each content; a preference distribution update means which updates the storage contents in the preference distribution storage means in accordance with the acquired attribute value; a condition determination means which selects an attribute value of one or more attributes in accordance with probability based on the user preference degree stored in the preference distribution storage means and determines the condition of the attribute value of the one or more attributes in accordance with the selected attribute value; and a content selection means which selects some or all of the contents in accordance with the determined condition.

Abstract: An approach is provided in which a question thread management system accumulates a set of questions from a first user into a question thread and classifies the question thread based upon a user profile of the first user. The question thread management system receives a query request from a second user and compares request attributes included in the second user's query request with profile attributes included in first user's user profile. In turn, the question thread management system provides the question thread from the first user to the second user.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for tracking quality measures in abstracted documents. Embodiments include, determining, based on the abstracted content, a quality measure category, obtaining a quality measure definition corresponding to a quality measure included in the determined quality measure category, determining, based on keywords corresponding to the criterion, whether a portion of the abstracted content satisfies a criterion, recording, in association with the criterion, a reference to the portion of the abstracted content that satisfies the criterion; and selectively generating, a report including the query corresponding to the criterion, a query response, and the portion of the abstracted content satisfying the criterion.

The first information may then be processed to identify a set of entities. Information about entities in the set may be used to search a second source of information to obtain second information relating to one or more of the entities in the set. Abstract: An MDS (metadata server) in a distributed storage system includes data servers (DSs) storing file contents and one or more MDSs performing metadata operations in response to metadata requests of different types, the MDS including a controller having a processor and a memory, the MDS storing file system metadata. The controller is configured to: classify the metadata operations into different categories, which include a normal category and one or more special categories different from the normal category, the normal category having a primary stage which does not involve communication between the MDS and a component external to the MDS; for each special category, partition each metadata operation into a plurality of stages at least one of which involves communication between the MDS and a component external to the MDS; and dynamically assign resources to each of the partitioned stage based on monitored workloads of the different types of metadata requests.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for analyzing a physiological signal by applying a continuous wavelet transform on the signal and comparing the wavelet transformation to a library of wavelet signatures corresponding to one or more physiological conditions and/or patient conditions. A pulse oximeter system may relate the wavelet transformation with one or more of the wavelet signatures based on filters and/or thresholds, and may determine that the wavelet transformation indicates that the patient of the physiological signal has a physiological condition indicated by the related wavelet signature. In some embodiments, the pulse oximeter system may use previous analyses in a neural network to update the library. Further, non-physiological components of the wavelet transformation may also be identified and removed.

In the case where, the place of user's action is a specific place unique to the user, where the user visits customarily or frequently, the user is allowed to enter an arbitrary name independent of the latitude and longitude. The name entered by the user is used as a pace name to be contained in action-history data. In this way, the apparatus obtains a place name appropriate for the user and the user can use the name conveniently as the place name of the user's action.

Abstract: A processor-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product defines multiple context-based data gravity wells on a context-based data gravity wells membrane. Non-contextual data objects are associated with context objects to define synthetic context-based objects. The synthetic context-based objects are parsed into an n-tuple that includes a pointer to one of the non-contextual data objects, a probability that a non-contextual data object has been associated with a correct context object, and a weighting factor of importance of the synthetic context-based object. A virtual mass of each parsed synthetic context-based object is calculated, in order to define a shape of multiple context-based data gravity wells that are created when synthetic context-based objects are pulled into each of the context-based data gravity well frameworks on a context-based data gravity wells membrane.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for classifying and labeling information content and also for profiling a user for accessing the information content, both using a coordinated labeling technique so that content from multiple sources may be searched, identified and/or presented to the user according to the user's profile. This technique provides an ongoing update of information content and sources while filtering out unnecessary information that is irrelevant to the user's profile, resulting in focused availability of information to the user. The user profile is matched with content of interest and matching content information may automatically be updated and made available to a user, in conformity with the user's profile. Content providers may now jointly use a common labeling scheme to improve the experience of their users and to provide content providers a technique to associate users with common facets of classification.

Abstract: An electronic document analysis method receiving N electronic documents pertaining to a case encompassing a set of issues including at least one issue and establishing relevance of at least the N documents to at least one individual issue in the set of issues, the method comprising, for at least one individual issue from among the set of issues, receiving an output of a categorization process applied to each document in training and control subsets of the at least N documents, the output including, for each document in the subsets, one of a relevant-to-the-individual issue indication and a non-relevant-to-the-individual issue indication; building a text classifier simulating the categorization process using the output for all documents in the training subset of documents; and running the text classifier on the at least N documents thereby to obtain a ranking of the extent of relevance of each of the at least N documents to the individual issue.

The first user may subsequently identify a second user of the address book system and make a connection with the second user. The first user can edit access preferences for the second user, with regards to the second user accessing the first user's contact information.

Abstract: A unique document handling facility on the scale of a Lotus Notes document. Preferably, the documents are stored in a relational database and served-up using Java servlets, with provisions for handling document content and group level security. Abstract: Methods and apparatus to classify text communications are disclosed. An example method includes determining a first score indicating a likelihood that a text belongs to a first classification mode by combining a first sentence score and a second sentence score retrieved from an index, the first sentence score indicating a probability that a first sentence in the text belongs to the first classification mode, the second sentence score indicating that a second sentence following the first sentence belongs to the first classification mode, determining a second score indicating a likelihood that the text belongs to a second classification mode, comparing the first score to the second score, classifying the text as the first classification mode when the first score is greater than the second score, and determining a confidence level that the text belongs to the first classification mode by dividing the first score by the second score.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating a normalized record from an import record, the normalized record having attribute-value pairs corresponding to a native schema. In import records, a plurality of attribute-value are identified each having an attribute label not found in a native schema. One or more attribute labels in the native schema having as possible values one or more values corresponding to the values of the plurality of attribute-value pairs are also identified. The computer system generates one or more normalization rules relating one or more attribute labels of the plurality of attribute-value pairs to at least a portion of the one or more attribute labels in the native schema. Normalization rules may be validated by crowdsourcing. Normalization rules may be applied by identifying implicated rules by classifying the import record and identifying rules applicable to the classification.

Abstract: A method and system to automatically categorize a merchant listing in an electronic marketplace are provided. The method includes parsing the category information submitted by a seller to derive a first category identifier. A first search is performed to locate the first category identifier in a first database containing a listing of category identifiers. If no match is found, the first category identifier is identified as expired or invalid. A second search is performed on a second database that includes mapping information of an expired category identifier to a new category identifier. If a match is found, the first category identifier is assigned as the new category identifier, thereby enabling the listing to be listed in the updated category automatically.

Abstract: A system and method for providing an easy-to-use interface for verifying semantic tags in a steering application in order to generate a natural language grammar. The method includes obtaining user responses to open-ended steering questions, automatically grouping the user responses into groups based on their semantic meaning, and automatically assigning preliminary semantic tags to each of the groups. The user interface enables the user to validate the content of the groups to ensure that all responses within a group have the same semantic meaning and to add or edit semantic tags associated with the groups. The system and method may be applied to interactive voice response (IVR) systems, as well as customer service systems that can communicate with a user via a text or written interface.

Abstract: A method and system for delivering highly relevant content, and removing irrelevant content, to a community of users over a conversational network platform. The embodiments of the present disclosure allow user-submitted content to be dynamically organized by “most trending” or “most important” by aggregating and evaluating user votes. User votes may expire according to a specified period of time to allow the system to determine relevancy of the content. An embodiment provides a forum for users to view and contribute content specifically tailored to individual entities, such that every instance of system content (including comments and votes) is related to one specific entity.

Abstract: Techniques for generating recommendation cluster within a social network service are described. Consistent with some embodiments, sample members in a social network service are identified. The sample members may be associated with prior member activity involving a source member. A cluster category this then selected based on a member attribute shared by a plurality of the sample members. In turn, a recommendation cluster is generated based on the selected cluster category. Generating the recommendation duster may involve selecting member profiles that match the cluster category. The member profiles selected in this way form the recommendation cluster. One or more of the member profiles of the recommendation cluster are then surfaced to a client device operated by the source member.

Abstract: Product data for a product is received by an attribute selection module. The product data includes product image data and product text data. This product data is used to generate a plurality of probability distributions for a category. The category includes a plurality of attributes, and the probability distribution includes a plurality of probabilities indicating the likelihoods that attributes of the category are applicable to the product. The plurality of probability distributions for the category are weighted and summed to generate a combined probability distribution for the category. An attribute label is determined by selecting an attribute from the category that is indicated to be most likely applicable to the product based on the combined probability distribution for the category. The attribute label is associated with the product. The attribute label enables other services to search for and retrieve the product based on the attribute.

Abstract: In a method for accessing files in an electronic device, a Random Access Memory (RAM) disk is set-up to store the file system root of the electronic device. At least one file system to be mounted is discovered in the electronic device. Mount points are established on the RAM disk for each file system. Drive identifiers are assigned for each file system. A file access request comprising a first file name path comprising a drive identifier is detected. The drive identifier is mapped to a mount point and a second file name path based on the mount point and the first file name path is formed. Thereupon, a file is accessed using the second file name path in the electronic device.

Abstract: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data and insulin delivery data are used to generate more reliable projected alarms related to a projected glucose levels. A memory stores endogenous data related to measurements of glucose level in a patient, and also stores exogenous data, such as insulin on board, both of which are used by a processor to create projected alarms. Profiles of CGM data are created for use in tuning patient-specific insulin data, such at basal rate, carb ratio, and insulin sensitivity. A processor searches for patterns in the data profiles and if found, recommended changes to patient-specific insulin data are provided to permit more accurate control over a patient's glucose levels.

Abstract: Techniques are described for refining the manual classification of assets classified or categorized using the terms of a business glossary. A semantic refinement mechanism is used to refine the manual classification of such assets, as well as subsequently evaluate the refined asset classifications. Further, the refined asset classifications may be used as a training set for a machine learning classifier. That is, should the classification of an asset contributing to a refinement change, the refinement based on that classification may be undone, at least in some cases.

Abstract: A computer implemented system and method are provided for refining category scores for pages of a sequence of document pages that potentially includes document boundaries. The method uses initial category scores provided by a categorizer that considers one page at a time or concatenated pairs of pages (called bipages). The category scores represent the probability that a page belongs to a particular category. The method uses anisotropic diffusion to refine the initial page category scores using the scores of neighboring pages as a function of the probability that there is a boundary between the pages. The method may be performed iteratively.

In one aspect, a search query and multiple web pages that satisfy the search query and have a ranked order as responses to the search query are received. A subset of web pages that are each a reference page for a respective book are selected. A web page is a reference page for a book when the web page includes a reference to the book and satisfies a citation criterion for the book. A book score is assigned to each of the books for which there is at least one reference page in the group of highest ranking web pages. The book scores are used to select one or more of the books. A book reference is generated for each of the books and the book references are provided in response to the search query.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for obtaining a structured listing of attributes and corresponding values based on an unstructured document, such as a product description in a product record. Putative values are identified in the document and corresponding candidate attributes are identified in a taxonomy. Attribute-value pairs are then evaluated with respect to a plurality of rules. Attribute-value pairs and outputs of the one or more rules are evaluated using a machine-learning algorithm, such as a decision tree, in order to determine which attribute-value pairs to retain. Retained attribute-value pairs are stored and used to respond to search queries and facilitate comparison of products. Attributes selected may also be used to update a product template.

Abstract: In accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to efficiently manage an app icon to be displayed on a screen of the apparatus without receiving a user input, thereby improving user convenience by determining a group for the app icon according to a predetermined classification rule and controlling the app icon to be displayed according to the determined group.
