The method may include receiving a floor map request from a client computing device, wherein the floor map request includes a requested location. The method may include based upon the location included by the floor map request, selecting a selected floor map and a selected subset of the plurality of POI data structures. The method may include transmitting, to the client computing device, a response to the floor map request based upon the selected floor map and the selected POI data structures.

Abstract: The concept-structured image search technique described herein pertains to a technique for enabling a user to indicate their semantic intention and then retrieve and rank images from a database or other image set according to this intention. The concept-structured image search technique described herein includes a new interface for image search. With this interface, a user can freely type several key textual words in arbitrary positions on a blank image, and also describe a region for each keyword that indicates its influence scope, which is called concept structure herein. The concept-structured image search technique will return and rank images that are in accordance with the concept structure indicated by the user. One embodiment of the technique can be used to create a synthesized image without actually using the synthesized image to perform a search of an image set.

In particular embodiments, a method includes receiving raw data from a first data source in a first format and converting the raw data to conditioned data. The method also includes selecting, based on user input, a first category of a plurality of categories included in the conditioned data. Abstract: A method for providing a healthcare program service over a wireless communication network includes receiving vital signals for a condition from measurement devices transmitted from multiple users and grouping the received vital signals, registering by a plurality of service providers corresponding healthcare programs classified by particular diseases, providing a healthcare program service to the multiple users, receiving feedback of use satisfaction for the healthcare programs from each user, counting the number of uses and gathering utilization information for each of the healthcare programs. The method further includes searching for a corresponding group of users using each healthcare program, adding up the user satisfactions and utilizations, databasing the results and upon receipt of vital signals for a condition from a particular user, comparing against similar signals and recommending a preferred healthcare program for a corresponding user group having vital signals for the condition.

Abstract: A method implementable on a computing device for detecting personal experience event reports from user generated content on the Internet is disclosed. The method includes filtering a collection of Internet posts to include only the Internet posts containing personal experience terms. The method additionally includes further filtering the filtered Internet posts by removing the Internet posts with non-personal experience terms.

Abstract: Secure private database querying on a database for a query having a formula evaluation on at least two keywords A and B comprises: a server receiving a Bloom filter tree comprised of encrypted Bloom filters of encrypted keywords from the database, wherein each Bloom filter in the Bloom filter tree is separately masked by a random mask pad P; receiving an encrypted version of the keywords A and B from the client; and obtaining masked Bloom filter indices for the keywords A and B. The client and server participate in secure function evaluation (SFE) with the client. The server has an input comprising the masked Bloom filter indices for the keywords A and B and the client has an input comprising the random mask pad P. The secure function evaluation comprises: removing the random mask pad P from the masked Bloom filter indices input by the server; determining if there is a matching Bloom filter for each of the keywords A and B; and applying the formula evaluation to determine if the formula is satisfied.

Abstract: Customized content is presented to user of a browser. Textual input, such as a search term from a user is received by the browser and customized content is determined based on the textual input. Customized content includes user-specific content and general content. The user-specific content is content of potential interest to the user based on the textual input from websites that the user visited, bookmarked, searched, and shared, as well as from the user's social network connections. The general content, on the other hand, is of potential interest to a plurality of users, such as trending topics on the web. The determined user-specific content and general content are transmitted to the browser for presentation to the user.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods relating to an automated or semi-automated arrangement of modules that helps gather, process, display, and coordinate meetings among matches based on a set of predetermined and crowd-sourced traits, values, interests, preferences and activities. Such systems of integrated modules in certain embodiments may be used to rank matches in a variety of applications and situations where participants are identified through tailored criteria that organizers, participants and sponsors determine to be most valuable. Embodiments of the present invention may offer advantages and improvements over prior computer and traditional networking and matching systems because they may provide interactive modules that automatically or semi-automatically combine human expertise with automated data management based on the expertise of an event organizer's event-management strategies with real-time and automated data management.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for simultaneously finding matches for rules that require greedy matching and comprehensive matching by executing a single Deterministic Finite Automaton (DFA). DFAs annotations are used to enable a single DFA to represent rules that require greedy and comprehensive matching. DFA descents are performed from various positions in an input stream, match information is recorded and match results are selectively generated (filtered) to achieve the greedy or comprehensive match behavior required by individual rules.

Abstract: Various systems and methods for collaborative filtering of enterprise objects are described. A first object and a second object, which may be enterprise objects, may be compared. Vectors associated with each object may be created. These vectors may contain elements that indicate one or more actions performed involving other objects. Using these vectors, a similarity comparison may be performed to determine the amount of similarity between the objects. Based on a similarity value determined from the similarity comparison between the vectors, the second object may be recommended to a user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using calculated measures as attribute filters are provided. In example embodiments, a query for a result set is processed. The query includes a filter attribute that is absent from a base table from which the result set is to be obtained. A set of measures associated with the filter attribute that is absent from the base table is calculated. The base table is extended to include the calculated set of measures associated with the filter attribute that is absent from the base table to create an extended table. The extended table is filtered based on the filter attribute to create a filtered extended table. The result set is derived using the filtered extended table.

Abstract: In token compression, a column value is represented by a encoded token. During early predicate evaluation, the result that a decoded token in a column does not satisfy a predicate condition in a predicate conjunction is recorded in a cache as a “FALSE”. Such a result not only means that when the column contains that token that the predicate condition is not satisfied, but also that a predicate conjunction containing the predicate condition is not satisfied. When performing early predicate evaluation on a subsequent row on a token in a column, the conjunction result cache is referred to. If the cache records a FALSE for that token in that column, then it is known the predicate conjunction cannot be satisfied by the decoded token.

A targeted list of one or more telephone numbers can be generated using the set of available telephone numbers and information from the user profile. Also, the targeted list can be sent to a rendering computing environment for display. User input selecting a telephone number from the targeted list can be received. Abstract: To process a sequence of outer joins in a database system, the database system performs a first outer join of the sequence of outer joins. A result of the first outer join is stored in a result table stored across plural storage modules of the database system. At least a subset of records of the result table is redistributed across the storage modules according to a first join attribute of the result table, where any record of the result table that has a null value for the first join attribute is not redistributed. A second outer join of the sequence is performed using the redistributed result table and another table, where the second outer join is based on the first join attribute of the result table.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for searching a dynamic data source using a static search engine. In one embodiment, the method includes: determining that a search request for data includes at least one attribute associated with dynamic data, retrieving dynamic data associated with the at least one attribute and corresponding to the search request, combining the retrieved dynamic data with static data that corresponds to the search request, and returning the combined data in response to the search request. The dynamic data may be located separately from the static data, for example, at a remote storage and may be searched in parallel with the static data if necessary. The retrieved dynamic data may be combined with the static data and returned to the user.

The filter manager component may also comprise a filter interface module communicatively coupled to the filter control module. Abstract: A system and method for recommending interesting content is provided. A content profile including a vector of words extracted from messages associated with a user is obtained. One or more content pointer profiles each including a vector of words associated with a content pointer located within one or more messages are obtained. The content profile is compared with each of the content pointer profiles. A relevance score is determined for that content pointer by calculating a similarity between the user words and the content pointer words. The content pointers are ranked based on the relevance score. A threshold is applied to select the content pointers and those content pointers that satisfy the threshold are selected as the content pointers most relevant to the user.

Abstract: A map system for presenting Point of Interest (POI) information is provided with an interface module, a storage unit, and a processing module. The interface module is coupled to a display device and provides an operation interface for receiving a search query and a condition of time period. The storage unit stores a plurality of POIs data and verified data of the POIs each corresponding to a respective one of different time periods. The processing module filters the POIs and the verified data according to the search query and the condition of time period to generate an electronic map, and displays the electronic map to present the filtered POIs via the interface module and the display device.

Abstract: Techniques are described for performing filter and project operations. In an embodiment, a set of predicates that specify criteria for filtering results to a query is received. Based on a particular predicate of the set of predicates, a predicate result for at least one portion of a particular column is generated. The predicate result identifies rows within the first column that satisfy the particular predicate. Rows are selected and returned as results to the query based at least in part on the predicate result. In an embodiment, the predicate result is a bitvector where each bit of the bitvector corresponds to a particular row within the particular column and identify whether the particular row satisfies the particular predicate.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for (1) extending SQL to support direct invocation of frequent itemset operations, (2) improving the performance of frequent itemset operations by clustering itemset combinations to more efficiently use previously produced results, and (3) making on-the-fly selection of the occurrence counting technique to use during each phase of a multiple phase frequent itemset operation. When directly invoked in an SQL statement, a frequent itemset operation may receive input from results of operations specified in the SQL statement, and provide its results directly to other operations specified in the SQL statement. By clustering itemset combinations, resources may be used more efficiently by retaining intermediate information as long as it is useful, and then discarding it to free up volatile memory.

Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods in which user-created and user-selectable personas are used to enhance a search string for submission to a search engine. The persona information can also be used to filter or rank search results. A given user can combine multiple characteristics in various ways to produce different persona, and can choose among different as desired for a given search. Software to capture, maintain, store, and use persona information can be physically spread out across multiple computers operated by different companies, with a third party hosting the persona capturing interfaces.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described herein for recognizing repeated patterns in audio data. An audio input is compared to search terms to determine whether a match can be found. Repeated machine-generated audio presented in telephone calls that support Integrated Voice Response (IVR) applications are identified and used to analyze the performance of IVR systems.

Abstract: An illustrative method for generating earned media includes collecting publisher descriptor data from a plurality of publishers, storing the descriptor data in a computer-readable memory, gathering at least one marketing parameter from a marketer and storing the at least one marketing parameter on the computer-readable memory. The method further includes retrieving, with a computing device, the descriptor data and the at least one marketing parameter from the computer-readable memory and filtering the plurality of publishers by applying the at least one marketing parameter to the descriptor data to produce qualified publishers. The qualified publishers are then presented with content from the marketer for dissemination to an audience of the qualified publishers. A system for generating earned media is also presented.
