Abstract: Aggregate scoring is used to help classify digital content such as content uploaded to multi-user websites (e.g., social networking websites). In one embodiment, specific categories are used that relate to a social implication of content. For example, text, images, audio or other data formats can provide communication perceived to fall into categories such as violent, abusive, rights management, pornographic or other types of communication. The categories are used to provide a raw score to items in various groupings of a site's content. Where items are related to other items such as by organizational, social, legal, data-driven, design methods, or by other principles or definitions, the related items' raw scores are aggregated to achieve a score for a particular grouping of items that reflects, at least in part, scores from two or more of the related items.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a user interface for building a graphical flowchart that represents a database query. One method includes presenting a plurality of flowchart step types, wherein each of the flowchart step types is associated with a different logical expression format. The method also includes receiving a selection of one of the plurality of flowchart step types, presenting at least one expression option for the logical expression format of the selected flowchart step type, and receiving at least one input for the expression option. The method further includes generating a graphical flowchart step associated with a logical expression, wherein the logical expression is based on the at least one input and the logical expression format of the selected flowchart step type. The method also includes displaying the graphical flowchart step and automatically generating a database query corresponding to the logical expression associated with the displayed graphical flowchart step.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for managing an application error. Error record information on at least one application in which an error has occurred is collected from at least one portable device. The collected error record information is stored in a table that maps error information of each application. An application list provision request is received from a portable device. At least one application to be filtered from an application list is identified based on the error information of each application mapped in the table. The application is filtered from the application list to generate a filtered application list. The filtered application list is provided to the portable device.

Abstract: In the field of satisfaction of human necessities, the system for meeting people over an Internet network includes client devices interconnected by means of the Internet network and at least one server having a module for forming virtual likenesses, a module for searching and comparing virtual likenesses, a module for displaying and storing results and a module for communication between virtual likeness. The system can be used in allowing users of social networks to meet each other. The system includes a module for forming and operating virtual meetings scenes. The achieved technical result is a broadening of functional capabilities of the system.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus and a system for filtering data of a web page are described. According to embodiments of the invention, a data request message sent through a browser is received, a corresponding Application Programming Interface is invoked based on the data request message. The Application Programming Interface includes a HOOK function, and the data request message is filtered by using the HOOK function in the Application Programming Interface. Since almost all kinds of browsers may utilize Application Programming Interface(s) for requesting data, the solution has good compatibility, no specific plug-ins need to be developed for various browsers, no post-maintenance is required, the workload of development is small and the implementation is flexible.

Abstract: A method for incorporating information pertaining to geographic locations previously visited by a user into a search. The method includes: obtaining location information corresponding to a user account; determining, from the location information, one or more geographic locations that correspond to the location information; providing a user interface that includes a prompt that accepts search terms as input to a search query and an option to include a group of one or more geographic locations in the search query; and providing for display results related to the search terms and to one or more geographic locations in the group of one or more geographic locations when the option to include the group of one or more geographic locations is selected.

Abstract: The invention discloses a system and method for managing feedback data that will be used for ranking search results. The invention can aggregate a plurality of user feedback data from more than one user into a search index. The user feedback data can be associated with one or more documents within the index such that the one or more documents can be ranked based on the type of feedback data that is aggregated. Once the documents have been ranked, the ranked documents can be provided to a requester.

Abstract: In accordance with disclosed embodiments, there are provided methods, systems, and apparatuses for creating a data silo and testing with a data silo including, for example, initiating a test sequence against a production database within a host organization, wherein the test sequence specifies: (a) new data for insertion into the production database during the test sequence and (b) one or more queries for execution against the production database during the test sequence. Such a method further includes inserting the new data into the production database; recording one or more row IDs corresponding to the inserted new data; injecting a test context filter into the one or more queries based on the one or more row IDs; and executing the one or more queries against the production database.

Abstract: The subject disclosure pertains to web searches and more particularly toward influencing resultant content to increase relevancy. The resultant content can be influenced by reconfiguring a query and/or filtering results based on user location and/or context information (e.g., user characteristics/profile, prior interaction/usage temporal, current events, and third party state/context . . . ). Furthermore, the disclosure provides for query execution on at least a subset of designated web content, for example as specified by a user. Still further yet, a localized marketing system is disclosed that provides discount offers to users that match merchant criteria including proximity. A system for actively probing populations of users with different parameters and monitoring responses can be employed to collect data for identifying the best discounts and deadlines to offer to users to achieve desired results.

Abstract: A method according to one embodiment includes the operations of receiving a list of one or more data race analysis targets, wherein the data race analysis targets comprise at least one of a source file name, source file line, function name, variable name or target address range; generating a data race analysis filter, wherein the data race analysis filter comprises a data structure including memory address ranges based on the list of data race analysis targets; and performing a data race analysis on a memory access, wherein the memory access is associated with memory addresses included in the data race analysis filter.

Abstract: A computer system, a computer-readable non-transitory medium, and/or a computer-implemented method generates analytics applicable to data of an undetermined structure and type. A processor device receives data formatted in an undetermined structure. The processor device discovers, in a cross filter model processor, dynamically in response to receiving the data in the undetermined structure, a structure and a data type of the data which was received in the undetermined structure. The processor device determines, in response to the structure and the data type of the data discovered by the cross filter model processor, which of a plurality of analytic queries are applicable to the data.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for natural language search. In some embodiments, a content search request for content items related to an account with a content management system may be received, at least one filter from the content search query request may be determined to identify content items based on at least one of a management function and a content interaction function performed with a content item for the account, and the at least one filter may be applied to accessible content items for the account to identify content items.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention include determining at least one input requirement of a dynamic object and associating the at least one input requirement with a group of related information in a database. The dynamic object may then be configured to operate based on information being accessed from the group of related information. This may include configuring the software code associated with the dynamic object to reflect each information as it is being accessed from the group of related information.

Abstract: A cloud-based platform (e.g., cloud-based collaboration and/or storage platform/service) is described that permits advanced searches with advanced filtering mechanisms to be performed by administrators or other authorized individuals, across an organization, enterprise, or other select groups of entities in a cloud environment, such as a cloud-based collaborative environment. Various types, categories, metadata, and filters can be specified for use in the advanced search within select folders, users' folders, or across a larger set/group of folders and/or users.

Abstract: A phrase identification system and method are provided. The method comprises: identifying one or more phrase candidates in the electronic document; selecting one of the phrase candidates; numerically representing features of the selected phrase candidates to obtain a numeric feature representation associated with that phrase candidate; and inputting the numeric feature representation into a machine learning classifier, the machine learning classifier being configured to determine, based on each numeric feature representation, whether the phrase candidate associated with that numeric feature representation is a phrase.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for searching for items on a computer network, such as the internet, based on a query and an exclusion specification comprising a specification of a characteristic of sources of the items, to create a list of identifiers of items relevant to the query that are not excluded by the exclusion specification. Such characteristics include measures of popularity of the sources of the items so that items from sources having popularity greater than the specified popularity may be excluded from the list.

Abstract: A text content summary is created from speech content. A focus more signal is issued by a user while receiving the speech content. The focus more signal is associated with a time window, and the time window is associated with a part of the speech content. It is determined whether to use the part of the speech content associated with the time window to generate a text content summary based on a number of the focus more signals that are associated with the time window. The user may express relative significance to different portions of speech content, so as to generate a personal text content summary.

Abstract: Systems and methods to provide tracing of data through a transformation process using tracers added to the data during the transformation. In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving a plurality of data records; processing the data records using a plurality of transformation rules, wherein each of the transformation rules corresponds to a respective one of a plurality of tracers; and adding the tracers to the data records as needed to indicate those of the transformation rules used to process each data record. After processing the data records using the transformation rules, the data records are provided to a target system, and the transformation process is validated using the tracers added to the data records.

Abstract: Techniques for providing contextually-relevant content include identifying content items accessed through a portal by a plurality of users, each user associated with one or more roles of a plurality of roles within the portal; updating a trace log to include information associated with the identified content, the information including associations between each identified content item and the role accessing each identified content item; receiving, from a user associated with a particular role of the plurality of roles, a search query through the portal for one or more content items; determining a plurality of search results responsive to the search query, the search results relating to the content items; for the particular role, filtering the plurality of search results based on the trace log; and generating a plurality of filtered search results for presentation through the portal.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing an online forum as a search result are provided. In some aspects an indication of a search query from a first user is received. A search result for the search query is determined, where the search result is associated with an online forum. That one or more users of the online forum include one or more social contacts of the first user in a social networking service is determined. A ranking of the search result is changed based on the users of the online forum comprising the one or more social contacts. An indication of the search result is provided for display, where displayed information associated with the search result indicates at least one of the one or more social contacts.

The method includes defining, by a computing system, a meta-object, a schema based structured definition for the meta-object, and a taxonomy with configuration data. The computing system creates content associated with the taxonomy and associates topics of the content with a logical storage room representations. Reference coordinates associated with the logical storage room representations are associated with the taxonomy. The computing system generates updated configuration data that includes the reference coordinates and a uniform resource identifier associated with the content is generated. The computing system generates an account associated with the meta-object for a user. Metering charges for usage of the account and a report associated with the account and usage are generated.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for viewing hierarchical data. One disclosed approach provides a method and system for viewing and navigating through hierarchical data while maintaining a hierarchical context that allows for the user to traverse up and down the hierarchy.

Abstract: A system and method for managing access to content is provided. One example embodiment provides for a method including acts of identifying a filter of content based at least in part on the preferences a user and a subject presented in the content and presenting the content using the filter to the user. Another example embodiment provides for a system that includes a controller configured to identify a filter of content based on preferences of a user, to present content using the identified filter and to update the preferences of the user based on feedback from the user and the subjects presented in the content.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for extracting and distributing text of mixed types from displayed graphical data from a display of an electronic device are disclosed. The text types can include rendered text and text represented in rendered images. Displayed graphical data can be captured from data being displayed by an application on a display device. Text data can be extracted from the captured graphical data as text data at the rendering tree level, or by an optical character recognition process. In response to the extracted text data a text selection tool with visual representations of selectable text can be applied to the displayed text data. Selectable text is differentiated by being displayed with more clarity than or in stark contrast to non-text data that is rendered as being degraded or blurred. Using the text selection tool, a user can select a subset of the text.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for interacting with and performing detailed analysis of digital databases. A user may perform analysis on a database by interacting entirely with graphical representations of the data within that database. The system may generate various types of charts to display summaries of all data available for analysis, and then allow a user to graphically partition this data into various disjoint groups to perform separate analysis on. Data records may be moved between these groups freely, and types of analysis performed on each group may be customized by the user. Any steps taken in either partitioning the data records or analyzing the groups will be recorded, and may be applied to other databases at a later time, allowing the user to establish preferred analytic method routines.

Abstract: A computer system identifies high-value information in data streams. The computer system receives a filter graph definition. The filter graph definition includes a plurality of filter nodes, each filter node including one or more filters that accept or reject packets. Each respective filter is categorized by a number of operations, and the one or more filters are arranged in a general graph. The computer system performs one or more optimization operations, including: determining if a closed circuit exists within the graph, and when the closed circuit exists within the graph, removing the closed circuit; reordering the filters based at least in part on the number of operations; and parallelizing the general graph such that the one or more filters are configured to be executed on one or more processors.

Abstract: A computer system identifies high-value information in data streams. The computer system receives a plurality of filter graph definitions. Each of the filter graph definitions includes a plurality of filter nodes arranged in a two-dimensional graph by a plurality of graph edges. Each filter node is configured to accept or reject individual packets in a data stream based on content and/or metadata information associated with the individual packet. The system prepares the filter graph for execution. In response to receiving a data stream with a plurality of packets, the system distributes the packets to inputs of each of the executable filter graph definitions. The system identifies, using the executable filter graph definitions, packets with high-value information based on parallel execution of the filter nodes included in the respective filter graph definition.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating predictive filters for messages. In one embodiment, filter information is coupled to a reputation database. One or more filters for a message feature are generated if a reputation of the message feature is associated with one or more portions of the filter information. In one embodiment, SPAM filters are generated. In yet another embodiment, one or more message features are tested using heuristics. One or more message features are blacklisted based on a determination of the heuristics. One or more additional message filters are generated if a reputation of the message feature is associated with a blacklisted feature.

A Bloom filter is applied to the results in the list of results to identify one or more first results, if any, in the list of results that the user has previously accessed. A result list is generated. The result list includes at least a portion of the list of results, based at least in part on the identified one or more first results. The result list is sent to the first client.

Abstract: A method and system for generating and using a master entity associative data network. The master entity associative data network system includes data sources storing data entities. Each data entity is of a specific entity type having specific entity properties, associations to other data entities, and an assigned common identifier label. Also, the master entity associative data network system includes a data processor configured to extract data entities from the data sources and extract associations to other data entities. The data processor stitches the data entities to each other based on at least one or more of the extracted associations, specific entity properties, and the common identifier label to generate one or more master data entities.

Abstract: In certain implementations, a system may receive attribute data corresponding to attributes of a plurality of users and to one or more venues for which the plurality of users has an affinity. A user personality matrix may be calculated for one or more of the plurality of users based on interrelational nodal link strengths between the one or more users and the venues. The user personality matrices may be merged to calculate a combined personality matrix representing a unified taste profile for the one or more users. A candidate list of venues having the highest link strength with the combined personality matrix may be determined. One or more recommended venues from the candidate list of venues that have the strongest links to the combined personality matrix may be determined, and recommendation data corresponding to the recommended venues may be output.

Abstract: A database management system provides row based filtering of data at a database level by evaluating content of at least one record of a write data request received from an application for a particular table from among at least one table of a database, against at least one filter rule specified for the particular table. The database management system selects, for the at least one record, whether to store the at least one record of the write data request as a separate row in the particular table based on a separate action triggered for the at least one record when evaluated against the at least one filter rule specified for the particular table, each record not selected for storage being silently discarded.

Abstract: A multipath explorer may allow a user to quickly visualize an entire population of data hierarchically in a tree-like structure. For example, a user can select a first filter to be applied to a data set, and the multipath explorer can display data in the data set that satisfies the first filter requirements and data in the data set that does not satisfy the first filter requirements. A second filter can be applied to the data in the data set, and the multipath explorer can display data in the data set that satisfies the first and second filter requirements, data in the data set that satisfies the first filter requirements and not the second filter requirements, data in the data set that satisfies the second filter requirements and not the first filter requirements, and data in the data set that does not satisfy the first or second filter requirements.

Abstract: Techniques for recommending media are described. A character preference function comprising a plurality of preference coefficients is accessed. A first character model comprises a first set of attribute values for the plurality of attributes of a primary character. A second character model comprises a second set of attribute values for the plurality of attributes of a secondary character. The primary and secondary characters are associated with first and second predetermined salience values, respectively. A first character rating is calculated using the plurality of preference coefficients and the first set of attribute values. A second character rating of the secondary character is calculated using the plurality of preference coefficients with the second set of attribute values. A media rating is calculated based on the first and second salience values and the first and second character ratings. Media is recommended to a user based on the media rating.

The method further comprises adjusting one or more parameters associated with a model based on the first information collected within a first length of time, and obtaining, from a second source, second information related to activity of the user. The method further comprises adjusting the one or more parameters associated with the model based on the second information collected within a second length of time and a measure indicative of performance of the model, wherein the second length of time is larger than the first length of time.

Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are disclosed for comparing and associating objects. In some embodiments, a method is provided for associating a first object with one or more objects within a plurality of objects, each object comprising a first plurality of properties, each property comprising data reflecting a characteristic of an entity represented by the object, the associated objects comprising matching data in corresponding properties for a second plurality of properties. The method may include executing, for each object within the plurality of objects and for the first object, the following: creating a slug for the object, the slug comprising the second plurality of properties from the object; and inputting the slug for the object into a Bloom filter. Further, the method may include creating for a bin within the Bloom filter corresponding to the slug for the first object, an association between objects whose slugs correspond to the bin if the slugs for those objects match.

Abstract: Provided are techniques for gesture-based image shape filtering. At least one keyword in a search request for an image is received. A first set of images that are candidate matches to the requested image are identified based on the at least one keyword. A gesture-based image for a filter request is received. The first set of images are filtered using the gesture-based image to identify a second set of images that are candidate matches to the requested image.

Abstract: In an approach, the database server generates a request for data representing rows of a table, the request identifying one or more data blocks stored on a storage system. The database server then generates metadata describing one or more filtering conditions to be applied to the rows and sends the metadata along with the request to the storage system. The storage system, when applying filtering conditions to a column containing a LOB, determines whether the LOB is stored in-line or out-of-line. If the column contains an out-of-line LOB, the storage system skips the filtering conditions on the column. If the column contains an in-line LOB, the storage system applies the filtering conditions to the column. Upon obtaining the filtered data from the storage system, the database server retrieves the data blocks for out-of-line LOBs and applies the skipped filtering conditions to create a final result set.

Abstract: A context locking method and system lock context of a set of members in a crosstab for further data exploration and analysis. The context locking system has a context information manager and a locking manager. The context locking method information manager collects context information of the selected member. The context locking method manager locks the context of the selected set based on the context information during further exploration or analysis of the crosstab, while allowing the locked set to reflect data changes in the data source.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for monitoring and filtering data transmission for providing the creation of a secure “virtual classroom” through which teachers can use the internet to link their students to other classes and work collaboratively and create a “shared learning” environment. A collaborative community is created by a teacher or administrator who submits initial input data to a central storage and clearing center. A first filter system is employed to ascertain and control the entrance of class data in order to ensure that the entering party is duly authorized. Once the initial input data is accepted, a search engine permits the teacher to search for compatible shared classrooms. The dynamic filtering permits security to be controlled by a central location and ties the individual classrooms into a network. The dynamic filtering level component permits each classroom and each student to be monitored to a degree designated by the teacher and appropriate for the student.

Abstract: A redundant array of independent nodes are networked together. Each node executes an instance of an application that provides object-based storage. Metadata objects are stored in a set of regions distributed among the nodes across the array. A given region is identified by hashing a metadata object attribute and extracting a given set of bits of a resulting hash value. A method of managing query results comprises: receiving, by a first node of the plurality of independent nodes from a client application, a request for a list of objects with a criterion; issuing by the first node a query to all the nodes based on the received request; processing the query by each node over the regions in the node using the metadata objects stored in the regions; aggregating and filtering by the first node results of the query from all the nodes; and returning by the first node the aggregated and filtered results to the client application.
