Abstract: A publish and subscribe system and method for ISP data delivery comprises two parts, a subscription part and a data content update part. In the subscription part, a client file is created with records for which data content packages are desired, and the file is sent to the ISP. The ISP creates a file with the requested data and the client integrates this file into its environment. The ISP maintains a record of the requested data. In the data content update part, changes to the relevant data content packages are recognized by the ISP, and an update file is sent to the client. This update file includes only those records that reflect changes since the previous update.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques for managing content stored on a distributed network. Content is initially placed onto the network and populated across one or more nodes. The content is distributed in association with decay parameters that define a lifetime for the population of the content on the network. Various communication nodes of the distributed network are configured to process the content decay parameters to determine whether to delete the content during subsequent time periods.

Abstract: A method for controlling and recording the security of an enclosure is disclosed. A mobile electronic control device, such as an electronic key, is used to access or otherwise control the operations of a field device, such as an appliance, power tool, shipping container, and the like. In a control event in which the mobile control device interacts with the field device via wired or wireless communications, the control device obtains the current location and the field device ID. The communications between the mobile control device and the field device may be secured with encryption. The location information is used by the mobile control device to determine whether the field device should be accessed or enabled. Alternatively, the location information may be stored separately in a location sensing device, and the control event data recorded by the key and the location information recorded by the location sensing device are later combined when they are downloaded into a management system for auditing.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described herein for performing AND/OR searching using multiple keywords. A query is received at a first node in a network having multiple keywords. The first node determines a set of documents matching a first of the multiple keywords, and computes an ideal Bloom filter representing those keywords. The first node sends the query and the Bloom filter to a second node, which determines its search results for a second of the multiple keywords in accordance with the Bloom filter.

Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for resolving a single server bottleneck. Logically associated data is typically collocated within a single filesystem or a single block device accessible via a single storage server. A single storage server can provide a limited I/O bandwidth, which creates a problem known as “single I/O node” bottleneck. The method and system provides techniques for spreading I/O workload over multiple I/O domains, both local and remote, while at the same time increasing operational mobility and data redundancy. Both file and block level I/O access are addressed.

Abstract: An injective function can execute against two different data repositories to generate a textual state representation for each of the different data repositories. The injective function can be a function that preserves distinctness, where the distinctiveness can be a one-to-one mapping of each element within the element domain to one element of a co-domain. The hash function can be executed for each of the different textual state representations to generate a corresponding hash number. The hash numbers can be compared to each other. When results from the comparing indicate the hash numbers are equivalent, the two different data repositories can be determined to be equivalent to each other and when results indicates the hash numbers are not equivalent, the two different data repositories can be determined to be not equivalent to each other.

Abstract: Approaches for recovering a node of a distributed transactional system. When a recovering node is being brought on-line, a copy of at least a portion of a first data store maintained by an existing node is created without ceasing to process transactions against the first data store at the existing node. The recovering node creates a second data store based on the copy of the first data store. While the recovering node creates the second data store, the recovering node stores committed transaction data received from a plurality of nodes. The committed transaction data describes transactions committed against data stores maintained by the sender of the committed transaction data. The recovering node may thereafter replay, against the second data store, any transactions identified by the committed transaction data that are associated with a global transaction number that is more recent than is a reference commit number.

Abstract: A search operation can implement a two step approach to provide geographically restricted and verified information to a user. First, high relevance search results are obtained by searching only in a specifically defined region. Second, the quality of the search results can be improved by performing contact address correlation. If the search server finds a reliable reference address in the search results these search results can be presented to the user after removing-search results not correlating well with legitimate and registered addresses. Therefore, the region-restricted presents only presents legitimate web pages or search results to a user. Thus, the region-restricted search operation improves quality and may minimize search time and reduce a huge volume of non-valued Internet traffic, which is likely to impair the overall performance and experience on the Internet.

Abstract: A map-reduce compatible distributed file system that consists of successive component layers that each provide the basis on which the next layer is built provides transactional read-write-update semantics with file chunk replication and huge file-create rates. A primitive storage layer (storage pools) knits together raw block stores and provides a storage mechanism for containers and transaction logs. Storage pools are manipulated by individual file servers. Containers provide the fundamental basis for data replication, relocation, and transactional updates. A container location database allows containers to be found among all file servers, as well as defining precedence among replicas of containers to organize transactional updates of container contents. Volumes facilitate control of data placement, creation of snapshots and mirrors, and retention of a variety of control and policy information.

Abstract: A method, programmed medium and system are provided for a file system that provides for the aging of information and files stored thereon. Digital data stored on the aging file systems ages appropriately as would normal paper or photographs without the need for an external application. The aging file system uses a number of parameters depending on what type of digital data are stored. For example, parameters like ambient temperature, rate of aging, simulated type of paper or photo paper are selected and may be input to a filing system at configuration time. The aging file system also creates and stores digital authentication certificates to provide a unique certificate number based on the aged digital information.

Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, method, and system for migration of metadata and storage management of data in a first storage environment to a second storage environment. A migration request is processed to migrate metadata and storage management of data in a first storage environment to a second storage environment, wherein the first storage environment has a first storage server, a first storage media, and first metadata describing first data objects stored in the first storage media, and wherein the second storage environment has a second storage server, a second storage media, and second metadata for second data objects stored in the second storage media. The first metadata is copied to the second storage environment to incorporate with the second metadata. The first metadata incorporated into the second metadata is modified to indicate first server information used by the second server to communicate with the first server to access the migrated data from the first storage media.

Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention provide for a user requesting a file or a plurality of file chunks stored in a file storage system, and a customized metadata stored in data storage. One or more tracker servers may determine file locations in the file system, and the location of the customized metadata in the data storage. These locations may be returned to an application, possibly an API, which may determine one or more URLs for the file locations and perform an HTTP request to read the file or file chunks from the locations or URLs in the file system. The file or file chunks, along with the customized metadata, may then be returned and displayed to the user that requested them.

Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention provide for a user uploading a file and a customized metadata about the file to a file storage system, and reading the same back upon request. This information may be forwarded to an application, possibly an API, which may divide the file into a plurality of file chunks if the file is greater than a predetermined file size. One or more tracker servers may check a database to locate optimal or current file locations for the file or file chunks to be stored within the file storage system. These optimal or current locations may be returned from the tracker servers to the application/API which may perform an HTTP request to write the file to or read the file from the file storage system. The file write may be validated and finalized, and the successful write or read may be displayed to the user on a user interface on a client.

Abstract: Various systems and methods for communicating enterprise information between an enterprise backend server and a mobile device are provided. For example, a middleware server may generate a formbuilder interface that allows a user to input form design information used to display a custom dynamic form. The form design information may include a plurality of form elements and an executable script that in part controls a behavior of the custom dynamic form. The custom dynamic form may be configured to prompt input of and receive the enterprise information. A value of a first one of the plurality of form elements may cause an action to be taken by the custom dynamic form, wherein the executable instruction when executed causes the action to be taken. The middleware server may communicate to the mobile device the plurality of form elements and the executable instruction. An operator of the mobile device may provide enterprise information using the custom dynamic form.
