  • Patent number: 11354438
Abstract: The disclosed systems and techniques enable an enterprise system to store contact phone numbers for users while avoiding storing and managing personal phone numbers for the user. For example, the enterprise system may forward personal phone numbers to an aliasing server configured to (i) generate alias phone numbers based on the personal email addresses and (ii) provide the alias phone numbers to the enterprise system. The aliasing server may operate as a “middle man” that receives phone calls or text messages directed to the alias phone numbers and that forwards the phone calls or text messages to the corresponding personal phone numbers (when appropriate). The enterprise system may store and maintain the alias phone numbers in lieu of storing the personal email addresses.

  • Patent number: 11356537
Abstract: A connected-device network can continually learn from abstract sensory data (e.g., speech processing, cognitive inference, and/or computer vision image segmentation) and can generate never-seen-before data in real time. In one aspect, the network devices extract important correlations in the sensor data based on network data collected at different time slice and/or locations. Further, underlying relationships in a set of data can be detected as the sensor data transverses through different layers of the network. Moreover, the network devices can provide logic in different layers to help classify the sensor data early in the detection process (e.g., instead of waiting for it to reach its final destination).

  • Patent number: 11336647
Abstract: Embodiments improve error detection and recovery in media access control security sessions. A MACsec session is torn down after three liveness time intervals elapse without receiving a MACsec key exchange protocol data unit (MKPDU) from a remote peer. This delay between a cessation of effective network communication over the MACsec session and the expiration of the three “liveness” intervals results in increased packet loss and an increased network convergence time as a network continues to route/forward data over the MACsec session for a period of time after the MACsec session has entered secure block mode. To solve this problem, embodiments define a new alarm, called a MACsec link alert, which is raised earlier than a MACsec session timeout generated by traditional embodiments. The MACsec link alert is raised, by at least some embodiments, after a failure to successfully receive an MKPDU from the remote peer after a single MACsec “liveness” timeout interval elapses.

  • Patent number: 11329940
Abstract: The disclosure concerns tracking a total count of unread messages where an email service manages email messages and a subset of the email messages are also stored locally on a client device. The client device may maintain a local unread count of unread messages stored on the client device, and the email service may maintain a remote unread count of unread messages stored on the email service but not on the client device. The email service may provide the remote unread count to the client device, and the client device may determine the total unread count by adding the local unread count to the remote unread count. The client device may also provide an identifier to the email service, and the email service may use the identifier to determine which of the email messages stored on the email service are not stored on the client device.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include establishing a header policy that is to be applied at a metadata proxy. The header policy may indicate that specified header information is to be included in each metadata service request sent to a metadata service. The method may also include accessing the established header policy at the metadata proxy, where the metadata proxy is configured to intercept metadata service requests and check the intercepted requests for the specified header information. The method may further include determining, at the metadata proxy, that the metadata service request does not include the specified header information and, in response to the determination, preventing the metadata service request from being passed to the metadata service. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11327145
Abstract: Traditional “low-to-high waveform change” timing markers, in navigation or GPS signals, can be easily naturally or maliciously altered and require unshareable, high-resolution, high-capacity channels, often not government available. Whereas, message text format methods include proven error correction, redundancy, encryption, jam-resistance, concealability, spoof-resistance, multiuser, delayable messaging, channel efficiency, and downstream authentication. Herein, “virtual timing markers” exploit message format strengths and more. Because many navigating platforms also communicate voice, messages, or data, platforms and multiuser messages can simultaneously and unintrusively share the same transmission signal, which reduces onboard hardware, needed channel capacity, radio frequencies, costs, and infrastructure.

  • Patent number: 11330420
Abstract: A wireless local area network roaming method and a communications apparatus are provided, to improve a roaming effect of a terminal device in a wireless local area network. In the method, a control device selects, in place of a terminal device, an optimal roaming access point of the terminal device, to reduce a time consumed for determining the optimal roaming AP. After the optimal roaming access point of the terminal device is determined, an associated access point instructs the terminal device to attempt to roam to the optimal roaming access point. Because duration required for searching for the optimal roaming AP is reduced, a probability of data loss of the terminal device in a roaming process can be reduced, and a roaming effect of the terminal device in the wireless local area network is improved.
