  • Patent number: 11265209
Abstract: A device management system that receives a first service request message for a remote device node, the request including an address identifier and a connection profile identifier. The system retrieves from a database protocol configuration information associated with the service request. The system connects to the remote device using the protocol configuration information and iterates through device packs and identifies a device type and support for in-band and out-of band application protocols for the remote device. The system retrieves and stores the retrieved device type and in-band and out-of band application protocols. The system further receives a second service request message that includes a device identifier of the remote device and iteratively connect to the remote device associated with the device identifier using each of the in-band and out-of band application protocols and retrieves an inventory of management operations associated with each application protocol.

  • Patent number: 11256560
Abstract: A behavior detection system has access to a collection of behavior definitions that each describe a functional behavior of a system. Each behavior definition includes multiple basic operations, each of which includes an identifier and one or more parameters. The behavior definition also includes, explicitly or inherently, a basic operation combination definition that describes a sequence or other manner in which the basic operations are combined. The behavior detection system analyzes events in an event log for the system and determines whether the events in the event log satisfy any of the behavior definitions. An appropriate responsive action is taken in response to detecting that the events in the event log satisfy a behavior definition. The collection of behavior definitions is scalable, allowing behavior definitions to be added or deleted, and allowing basic operations in a behavior definition to be changed (e.g., adding, removing, and/or modifying basic operation parameters).

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for selecting a target hypervisor to run a migrated virtual machine. An “effective priority value,” representing the virtual machine's priority with respect to the other virtual machines running on the same hypervisor, is calculated for the virtual machine when it is running on the source hypervisor as well as if it were to run on a target hypervisor for each possible target hypervisor. The target hypervisor associated with the minimum difference in absolute value terms between the virtual machine's effective priority value calculated when it is running on the source hypervisor and its effective priority value calculated if it were to be migrated to run on a target hypervisor is selected to receive the migrating virtual machine. In this manner, the effective priority metric has enabled a target hypervisor to be chosen that most closely matches the priority environment of the source hypervisor.

Abstract: Systems, methods and products for content management where a dynamic data service layer is provided between a content server layer to route requests from various content server instances to various database instances. The dynamic data service layer maintains an instance pool of available database instances and a connection pool of available connections to each database instance. A content server instance submits a corresponding request to the dynamic data service layer, which then examines the instance pool to identify a database instance that can service the request and examines the connection pool to identify an available connection to the identified database instance. The request is submitted to the identified database instance through the identified connection, and the responsive data is stored at a memory location which is accessible by the content server instance and can be read using a starting memory address and the length of the stored data.

Abstract: A system manages information about, and used in services provided to, a network device belonging to a customer. The system creates a first customer tenant in a tenant management service of a tenant for a first customer, registers identification information about a network device belonging to the first customer to the first customer tenant, and issues registration completion to a service system that provides the services. The system receives a registration request, creates a second customer tenant managing a network device belonging to a second customer, and registers identification information about the network device to the second customer tenant. The system causes the tenant management service to register a new tenant for the network device that transmitted the registration request and identification information about the transmitting network device, and issues a completion event to the service system in response to a notifying reply, from the tenant management service, indicating completion.

  • Patent number: 11246011
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for providing cellular access of a user-defined network. In one example, a user plane function of a cellular network obtains, from a control plane function of the cellular network, an indication that a first user equipment is attempting to connect to a user-defined network via the cellular network. The user plane function joins a multicast group configured to include a second user equipment connected to the user-defined network via a wireless local area network. The user plane function obtains a multicast packet that is transmitted between the first user equipment and the second user equipment and that is addressed to the multicast group, and converts the multicast packet to a unicast packet.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a novel method of performing network slice-based operations on a data message at a hardware forwarding element (HFE) in a network. For a received data message flow, the method has the HFE identify a network slice associated with the received data message flow. This network slice in some embodiments is associated with a set of operations to be performed on the data message by several network elements, including one or more machines executing on one or more computers in the network. Once the network slice is identified, the method has the HFE process the data message flow based on a rule that applies to data messages associated with the identified slice.
