  • Patent number: 9160365
Abstract: A method of programming a tire pressure monitor sensor utilizes a programming tool that transmits LF data frames to the TPMS sensor that includes a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) code with each data frame. The starting point for the subsequent data frame will then start with the CRC code received from the previous frame and will end with a new CRC code. Accordingly, the CRC code received from the previous frame will be used to ensure that the next data frame matches that CRC code as the starting point for that frame. This will ensure that the data frames cannot get out of sequence and will allow the ability to quickly identify where the data frames have gone out of sync and allow the programming tool to quickly react.

Abstract: Wireless communications devices are adapted to perform retransmissions of data blocks. A wireless communications device can be adapted to transmit a plurality of data blocks to a receiving device. When the plurality of data blocks are transmitted, the wireless communications device can initiate a block timer associated with a round trip time for communications between the wireless communications device and the receiving device. When, prior to expiration of the block timer, a transmission is received with an indication that at least one data block was not successfully received, the wireless communications device can retransmit the unsuccessful data block. On retransmission, the block timer is restarted. If another transmission is received prior to expiration of the restarted block timer, the wireless communications device can ignore any indication of unsuccessful receipt associated with the retransmitted data block. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Amplify-and-forward repeaters and decode-and-forward relays enhance the down-link and up-link, respectively. Relay assistance on the up-link occurs when the evolved Node B (“eNB”) requests a retransmission (HARQ) from the UE at which point the UE and relay transmit simultaneously in a cooperative fashion. The quality of the up-link signal received by the eNB is improved due to a favorable channel through the relay. Abstract: A mechanism is provided for transmitting a multicast session to a plurality of receivers over a wireless network. A forward error correction (FEC) overhead and a transmission rate are determined for transmission of a next data block of the multicast session based on received channel conditions. The next data block is multicast using the determined FEC overhead and transmission rate. Responsive to an indication of common missing packets from the next data block from more than one receiver in the plurality of receivers, the common missing packets are multicast to the plurality of receivers using the determined FEC overhead and transmission rate. Responsive to an indication of uncommon missing packets from the data block from one or more receivers, for each receiver in the one or more receivers, the uncommon missing packets identified by the receiver are unicast using the determined FEC overhead and transmission rate.

Abstract: A decoding method for decoding information content in at least one data packet, which is transmitted from a sender to a receiver via a data link. The information is represented by a bit sequence, which is transformed into a transmittable redundancy version. The information is initially transmitted for a first time in a first data packet from the sender to the receiver. The information is represented by a first redundancy version, which is self-decodable. An incorrect receipt is confirmed by sending a confirmation from the receiver to the sender. The information is retransmitted at least a second time in a second data packet from the sender to the receiver upon receipt of the confirmation, wherein, for representation of the information, a second redundancy version is used, the selection of which is performed in dependence on a coding parameter, describing whether the redundancy version is self-decodable or not.
