Abstract: A system and method may include a device, e.g., a cellular telephone, and a server providing for remotely updating display pages of the device. The server may: provide for display of a webpage including a first section having a visual replication of a display page of the device and a second section including a plurality of graphical objects, the webpage including interactive functionality for modification of the visual replication in response to a drag-and-drop operation of one of the plurality of graphical objects to a position in the visual replication; and, responsive to receipt of an instruction to permanently set the modification, transmit a synchronization message to the device indicating an association of the one of the plurality of graphical objects with the position. In accordance with the synchronization message, the device may update a data store used by the device for generating the display page.

Abstract: Multimedia content is featured on user pages of an online social network using embed codes that are generated using a configuration file associated with the source ID for the multimedia content and a content ID for the multimedia content. The configuration file, the source ID and the content ID are stored locally by the online social network so that any changes to the embed codes can be made by changing the configuration file associated with the source and regenerating the embed codes. By managing multimedia content in this manner, greater control can be exercised by the online social network over the multimedia content that are featured on its user pages.

Abstract: To identify pixels constituting image elements for generating a labeled image in which pixels are labeled with identification information, a pixel block including four pixels adjacent to one another in two dimensions is inputted as a unit from data including pixels that form an image. All of the on-pixels that are subject for grouping, included in the pixel block are labeled with the same identifier. Since the on-pixels that are included in a pixel block are consecutively connected, such pixels can be labeled with the same identifier without having to calculate whether such pixels are connected.

Abstract: A system includes a computer system capable of representing one or more animated characters. The computer system includes a blendshape manager that combines multiple blendshapes to produce the animated character. The computer system also includes an expression manager to respectively adjust one or more control parameters associated with each of the plurality of blendshapes for adjusting an expression of the animated character. The computer system also includes a corrective element manager that applies one or more corrective elements to the combined blendshapes based upon at least one of the control parameters. The one or more applied corrective elements are adjustable based upon one or more of the control parameters absent the introduction of one or more additional control parameters.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing bookmark information of a media server through a network based on the UPnP AV standard is disclosed. If a request for bookmarking a content item is made, a bookmark item is created and the created bookmark item is linked to the content item by adding the ID of the created bookmark item to the property information of the content item and recording the ID of the content item to be bookmarked in the created bookmark item.

Abstract: Multimedia content is featured on user pages of an online social network using embed codes that are generated using a configuration file associated with the source ID for the multimedia content and a content ID for the multimedia content. The configuration file, the source ID and the content ID are stored locally by the online social network so that any changes to the embed codes can be made by changing the configuration file associated with the source and regenerating the embed codes. By managing multimedia content in this manner, greater control can be exercised by the online social network over the multimedia content that are featured on its user pages.

Abstract: A method for synchronizing media clips uses audio data of the media clips. The method estimates a global offset between two media clips. The global offset may be determined in a wide variety of ways. The method selects a first test region of the audio track of the first media clip and uses the global offset to identify a corresponding second test region in the audio track of the second media clip. The first and second test regions are compared, for example by cross-correlation, to determine a local offset. In some embodiments a plurality of local offsets are determined for different parts of the media clips. A computer system may perform the method to automatically synchronize media clips.

Abstract: A method and system for enabling the creation of custom-choreographed multimedia content by combining content selected by a user with additional predefined content not selected by the user using an intelligent scripting and video rendering engine. The system and method reduce the user's involvement in preparing the multimedia content to simply selecting specific content the user wants to include in the final multimedia product and leaves the choreography and creation of the final product to the system and method, which intelligently script the final multimedia product based on the particular content selected by a user and/or any characteristics associated with the selected content.

Abstract: Systems and methods for template-based multimedia authoring and sharing are described. In one aspect, media content is selectively applied to a content description template to author media in a content description. The content description template provides a temporal structure for the applied media content. A content representation template is selected and combined with the temporally structured media in the content description to specify rendering criteria and generate a content description and representation for one or more of rendering, sharing, and exporting the temporally structured authored media.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter relates to various architectures that can, inter alia, facilitate creation of a synch file as well as facilitate interpretation of the synch file. Both creation and interpretation can be accomplished in conjunction with an original media asset. The synch file can include transformation commands that can operate on a presentation of the asset rather than upon the asset itself. Accordingly, what is actually perceived by a content consumer during a presentation of the asset need not be exactly what the asset creator fixed in a tangible medium. Rather, the content consumer can observe a derivative media presentation based upon interpretation of the synch file.

Furthermore, the semantic model represented in the semantic data view and the presentation model represented in the presentation data view may be updated in response to operating on the semantic model and the presentation model according to the received command. The semantic model and the presentation model may be simultaneously maintained in a volatile memory in a computer.

The method places a limitation on the avatar in the virtual world based upon information in the tag while the tagged attribute is associated with the avatar.

Abstract: Systems and methods for linking slides used during a presentation with a video recording of the presentation are provided. A presenter can develop slides for a presentation using a presentation tool. The presenter can then use the presentation tool to present the slides during a live talk, a video of which can be simultaneously recorded. The presentation tool can record the times at which each slide in the presentation was displayed, and for how long each slide was displayed. After the presentation concludes, the video recording or a link thereto can be provided to the presentation tool, which then can link the video recording to the slides. Viewers of the linked presentation can view the video and slides of the presentation, with the slides advancing in step with the video. Additionally, advancing or rewinding the slides can advance or rewind the video to the corresponding time point, and vice-versa.

If the task is performed in the context of a work order, for example, information from the work order can be associated with the text file so that a user can search by text search, keyword, task, or other such information. When a user device is within the defined area, the speed and direction control are on. When the user selection device leaves the defined area, the speed and direction are off. Also described is a system using a browser tool for displaying multimedia data in accordance with these viewing techniques. A user selection is made by viewing the multimedia data items and control is transferred accordingly to an appropriate application to present a multimedia presentation corresponding to a selected multimedia data item.

A website publisher can create and store a video player with customized parameters (e.g., player type, appearance, advertising options, etc.) and can associate the player with a playlist of selected videos. The calendar information is stored using particular category types which facilitate separate manipulation, access and removal of the calendar information when placed onto a portable computer system (e.g., palmtop). In one embodiment, calendar information is stored on a shared database and is assigned a unique category type. Multiple portable computer systems can then access the shared calendar information which can be displayed on each computer system along with the system's own calendar information. The unique category type is different from the default type of each system's own calendar information and the user is not able to change category types on the portable computer system.

Abstract: Methods and systems for determining a total elapsed play time of an interactive multimedia presentation having a play duration, a video content component, and an interactive content component include identifying two time intervals within the play duration. During the first interval, no video is scheduled for presentation, and a first elapsed play time of the presentation is measured based on a first timing signal. During the second interval, a video (which may include video, audio, data, or any combination thereof) is scheduled for presentation, and a second elapsed play time is measured based on a second timing signal. During the first interval, the total elapsed play time is determined using the first elapsed play time, and during the second interval, it is determined using the second elapsed play time. The total elapsed play time is usable to provide frame-accurate synchronization between the interactive content component and the video content component.

In a document mapping method, a set of logical operator classes each representing a logical operator may be defined. Each logical operator class may also have a dedicated mapping symbol. Through a mapping interface, logically structured document sections may be mapped. Each document section will typically include a logical operator and one or more requirements logically associated with the logical operator. The mapping symbol may depict the logical operator in a node structure and the unique requirements in branch structures extending from the logical operator node. Multiple document sections may be graphically and logically linked, including embedding document structures within the requirement fields of parent structures. The document map may be used to determine compliance with a document, costs of compliance, etc.

Abstract: An approach to handling dynamic information selection based on associated is presented. A user configures a plurality of endnotes in order to assign one of the endnotes to a recipient address. Each endnote may include signature text (e.g., name, phone number, etc.), as well as images, web page links, and/or animation, which add to the aesthetics and personalization of a constructed email message. When a user creates an email message that includes one or more email recipient addresses, an endnote manager analyzes each email recipient address and automatically selects one of the configured endnotes based on the email recipient's assigned endnote category. In addition, a user may configure the endnote manager to select an endnote to include in an email messages based upon the time at which the email is created.

Abstract: Architecture that allows users in an application sharing environment to separately view portions of data that are not part of the current shared view. An enhanced application sharing component is provided that facilitates rendering the application data multiple times for a correspondingly similar number of simultaneous users, and sending the additional renderings to the other users for interaction. Each user client includes an application sharing viewer that composites the per-user renderings onto the base shared image of the user client to create a per-user view of the shared document. The enhanced sharing component renders the portion of the data that is requested by the remote user as a bitmap and passes the bitmap along with coordinate information to the client rendering program presentation with the shared data view. The coordinate information indicates where on the shared screen of the remote client the bitmap is overlayed to produce a seamless experience.

Tagged media elements may generate a tag event associated with meta-data in response to being selected, perform an action when a tag event with a particular meta-data occurs, or both. When a user selects a tagged media instance during presentation playback, the tagged media generates a tag event with a particular meta-data. The application detects the tag event, determines one or more other media instances (if any) configured to perform an action upon detection of the tag event with the particular meta-data, and carries out the corresponding action.
