Abstract: A method and system for generating and using inspection data is disclosed. Prior to an inspection, inspection data is generated which includes location and component attributes, observation codes, and relationships between the location and component attributes and observation codes. During an inspection, an inspector accesses the inspection data to generate a data entry form which reflects the attributes, observation codes, and the relationships chosen during the inspection data generation. The inspector uses the data entry form to generate an inspection record having a structure based on the predefined inspection data.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and non-transitory computer readable media for displaying a clipboard. A method can include receiving at a client device, two or more copied pieces of content copied from one or more resources, receiving an indication to display the two or more copied pieces of content, determining a form field associated with the indication, ranking the two or more copied pieces of content based on the form field, and displaying at the client device, a clipboard with the two or more copied pieces of content ranked.

Abstract: A system and method for creating a table including multiple rows to accommodate redundant field information is described. A table creation module receives a completed form, generates field images, determines a set of unique field images, redundant fields and associated fields in the completed form, populates a first row of the table in a first column with a first unique field image, adds remaining field images from the set of unique field images to the first row, populates the first row with a first redundant field image and remaining field images from a first set of associated fields. The tables can be used to create an organized report.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a system that creates a real-time collaboration and synchronization of multiple, disparate media components, and more particularly to a system that creates dynamic relations and includes notations and annotations in text, audio, video, bookmark, and marked area without affecting the integrity of the original media source making it possible to later search any of these components independently using regular text search or further phonetic and image recognition searches.

Abstract: A system and method for assisting a user to enter data are provided. The method includes detecting a user's selection of a moveable input zone on each of one or more input documents displayed on the user's screen and detecting a user's selection of a moveable target zone on a target document displayed on the user's screen. Data in the input zone(s) and the target zone is captured for one or more locations of the respective zones and a pattern is learned automatically for filling additional data in the target document based on the captured data. A fill arrangement for filling the additional data in the target document based on the learned pattern is generated, which can be presented to the user for validation.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for sending completions to a client for aiding a user in completing electronic forms. The invention may identify a plurality of completions corresponding to a user; form a plurality of selected completions from the plurality of completions based, at least in part, on a use pattern of the user; and transmit the plurality of selected completions to a client associated with the user.

Abstract: A system and methods are disclosed to automatically extract data from documents, such as scanned paper forms and/or digital forms that need to be pre-configured to understand a layout for the forms to be processed. The system extracts data from the form definition at a two dimensional barcode and dynamically configures a workflow with services for extracting desired user filled information from the data fields present on the form. Support for a re-flowable service is provided.

Abstract: Indirect update functions, for updating a form, are generated by supplying update functions to a synthesizer, and generating an activation network, based on these update functions. The invocation sequence of the activation network is then determined, and used to update elements of a form. The generation of the invocation sequence by the synthesizer removes the need for complex hand encoding of form structures, and provides a means by which the functions may be generated as part of a server, client or middleware application.

Abstract: A system supports discovering available web services, retrieving description documents describing the web services, and binding methods and their parameters to data of an application document. When a user wants to bind a discovered web service to an application document, the system retrieves a description document from the web service. The system then parses the description document to identify the methods supported by the web service along with their parameters. The system allows a user to map method names and parameter names to more user-friendly display names. The system allows the user to bind the parameters to data of an application document. When the document is to be updated, the system sends a request for services specifying a method and input parameters as indicated by the binding. When a response is received, the system stores output parameters of the response in the document as indicating by the binding.

Abstract: A guided natural language interface, a method for guiding a user in specifying a color problem with a document image, and a set of templates for use in the interface and method are provided. The interface includes computer readable memory which stores a set of issue description templates, each template being configured for guiding a user in formulating a problem statement characterizing, in natural language, a problem related to color identified in an input document. A natural rendering engine receives information input by a user and/or information input from an associated problem detector, and instantiates one of the templates in response thereto. The natural language rendering engine is configured for presenting the problem statement to the user as it is refined and communicating information based on the refined problem statement to an associated problem corrector.

Abstract: Techniques are provided that allow users to collaborate in relationship to data views, application displays, applications or events. A user can type in a text view related to a specific view in an application display, and the information is shared with other users that take part in sharing that view. A user that expresses an interest in an event is notified about the event and has the capability to interact, in relation to the event, with other users (e.g. by text). The particular form of interaction (and sharing) can be selectively specified. This interaction is comparable to a dynamic bulletin board where the subject is event driven, and where a user can specify who are allowed to participate. In the case of an event interest(s), users specify their interest (e.g. in other user application events or system events) and the system automatically alerts them to the occurrence of the event.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of managing functions for objects associated with an interactive application presented on a display begins by providing a plurality of images that represent different selectable objects. The method also provides a drag-and-drop graphical user interface (GUI) element to accommodate drag-and-drop selection from the plurality of images, the drag-and-drop GUI element having a control element to initiate a function. The method continues by populating the drag-and-drop GUI element with a first image that represents a first selectable object, and thereafter receiving a command in response to activation of the control element. In response to receiving the command, the method performs the function on the first selectable object.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for interacting with an interactive form. One or more values of a first control of the interactive form may be received at a server. Each value may represent a portion of a travel-related search query entered at the client device. At least one recommended value for a second control of the interactive form, which is different from the first control of the interactive form, may be determined and communicated from the server to the client device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for interacting simultaneously with multiple application programs are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes allowing a first application program to be associated with a second application program. The first and second application programs are responsive to inputs received via a user interface for interacting with respective user interface components associated with the first and second application programs. Further, an input is received via the user interface when the first application program has focus within the user interface. The received input is neither for interacting with the user interface components associated with the first application program nor the second application program.

Abstract: A method and a system for editing documents online, that in some implementations, simultaneously edits a webpage document, in a webpage file format, and an image document, in an image file format. The webpage document and the image document may have substantially similar visual content. In some implementations, an editing interface is displayed to a client device. The editing interface may have a first portion displaying one or more webpage editing forms for editing the webpage document and a second portion displaying the webpage document or image document being edited. The editing interface accepts editing data from the client device. Both the webpage document and an image document may be updated based on accepted editing data. The image document is updated in part by updating form data retrieved from a database. In some implementations, the updated webpage document is displayed on a webpage and access to the image document is provided from the webpage.

Abstract: A user registers with a server system and provides user data (e.g., personal information). The server system divides the user data into multiple components. Each device in a set of devices receives a component of the user data for storage. When the user accesses a web page through a host device that includes one or more data fields into which user data can be entered, the host device receives the components of the user data from the devices in the set. The host device reassembles the user data based on the received components. When an authorization gesture is performed by the user with a storage device from the set of devices, the host device inserts the user data in the data field.

Selection of a first link corresponding to a respective asset of the displayed assets is detected; in response, one or more related assets associated with the respective asset are displayed. Selection of a second link corresponding to a first related asset of the one or more related assets is detected; in response, a user interface for editing attributes of the first related asset is displayed, wherein the user interface and the one or more related assets are displayed in a common window.

Abstract: There is provided a layout print system including a storage storing electronic data sets having unique document IDs, and a printing image generating apparatus generating printing image data based on the stored electronic data sets. The printing image generating apparatus includes an acquisition section acquiring the electronic data sets, an identification section identifying a document form type for the electronic data sets, a weight value determination section determining weight values for the electronic data sets, and a printing image generating section generating a printing image data by arranging the electronic data sets on a layout template based on the weight values and attaching identification information to the electronic data sets. The layout print system further includes a printer printing the printing image data, and a display apparatus including an information identification reader reading the identification information on a printing medium and displaying a desired one of the electronic data sets.

Abstract: An electronic inspection report system includes a central report generator and a data collection device. The central report generator is adapted to produce multiple types of inspection report template. The central report generator is adapted to select a type of inspection report template to provide to a data collection device based upon various criteria. The central report generator is adapted to receive electronic information from various databases and format the information such that the information can be used in inspection reports. While inspecting an item, an inspector uses a data collection device to access an inspection report template and fill in fields of the inspection report template. The data collection device can be configured to check the consistency of information carried in fields of the inspection report and signal the inspector when some of the information is inconsistent. The central report generator can include a repository of completed inspection reports.

Abstract: A system and method for paper-based, automated completion of forms allows a user charged with filling out multiple forms containing some common information to write each unique piece of information one time, and the system generates a set of completed forms with the required information on each form with no change to the use or structure of the current forms. The control module is operable on a processor to determine a mapping between common fields on multiple forms or multiple pages of the same form, copy information written in a field on one form to equivalent fields on other forms, and produce a set of completed forms. The system is computationally simple and independent of language because these operations can be performed without having to understand, translate or convert the writing. Furthermore, there is no loss of security or privacy beyond the use of paper forms because these operations can be performed without access to a centralized database and without connectivity to other systems.

Abstract: A system and method provides a natural language interface to world-wide web content. Either in advance or dynamically, webpage content is parsed using a parsing algorithm. A person using a telephone interface can provide speech information, which is converted to text and used to automatically fill in input fields on a webpage form. The form is then submitted to a database search and a response is generated. Information contained on the responsive webpage is extracted and converted to speech via a text-to-speech engine and communicated to the person.

Abstract: A system for automatic data aggregation comprises a communications module to receive an electronic form comprising field data and a detector to detect a workflow identifier indicating that the electronic form is to be included as a new record in an aggregate package. The system further comprises an aggregator to associate electronic form data with an aggregate package in response to the detected workflow identifier.

Abstract: A method for obtaining a result for a post-query may include: (a) Algorithmically treating the query to create a signature. (b) Composing a pseudo-get web identifier including a web address identifying a responding station and the signature. (c) Sending the query via a network to the responding station to request the result. (d) Determining whether the result is stored in a cache unit in the network. (e) If the result is stored in a cache unit, providing the result to the requesting station. (f) If the result is not stored in a cache unit, acquiring the result from the responding station. (g) Storing the result in a receiving cache unit. (h) Sending a resubmitted query via the network to the responding station in a format appropriate to retrieve the stored result from the receiving cache unit. The resubmitted query format includes the signature phrase.

Abstract: Systems and methods for collecting, classifying, transmitting and updating personal information for completion and submission or supplementation of electronic forms or databases on any type of mobile or other computing device are provided. Information relating to a user is obtained from one or more sources through electronic means, and the information is then organized and securely stored in a database using field mapping and other techniques to classify the information into specific categories. The information that is obtained and organized may include contact information, financial information, health information and historical information. The organized information may then be accessed by the user to automatically and instantaneously populate or supplement an electronic document, form or web-based application without requiring the user to manually enter the information. The system automatically detects and stores updates to information and builds a database of forms and electronic documents for future use.

Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the invention relates to a method for populating forms. The method includes: identifying a set of inputs to a form from past users; receiving, from a current user, a request to view the form; identifying temporal data associated with the current user; identifying an internet protocol (IP) address of a computing device of the current user; performing, based on the IP address and the temporal data, a statistical analysis on the set of inputs; determining, based on the statistical analysis, that a statistical threshold corresponding to a field on the form is exceeded; calculating, in response to determining that that the statistical threshold is exceeded, a default value for the field; and sending the default value to the computing device.

Abstract: A detector (11) of the present invention detects cessation of input to an input form by a user. A generator (12), when input is started again by the user after the user ceased input, acquires an input status of input to the form by the user that was outputted from a monitor that monitors the input status of the input of the information by the user, estimates a cause for input being ceased by the user based on the input status, and then, based on the estimated cause, generates a new input form for which input conditions have been relaxed.

Abstract: A system, device and method for providing interactive content on a computing device is provided. In an embodiment, a computing device in the form of a portable computing device is configured to execute a primary web browser application and a secondary web browser application. The primary web browser application is configured to generate a web-page including a fillable form on the portable computing device. The secondary web browser application is configured to receive the input for the fillable form by generating a mirrored fillable form, and to automatically populate the fillable form on the web-page using the completed version of the mirrored fillable form.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include a configurable template definition which improves the self-service supplier registration and update process by providing a tailored request to match the needs for the particular type of supplier and collect all the relevant information from them. According to one embodiment, a template page can be made available where the administrator can specify which attributes or attribute groups can be applicable for each type of supplier when registering or updating their data. Profile questions can be selected from the master list and associated to the template. The registration process can then be coded to hide or show individual attributes or groups of attributes and individual profile questions based on the selection in the related template.

Abstract: The number of citations in scientific papers referencing an individual scientist plays a key role in their professional life and in scientific communities. Today's exponentially growing number of scientific publications makes it nearly impossible for authors to reflect all papers that may deserve citations. Often, authors learn about a paper they would have cited only after their work is published, and the situation cannot be corrected. We have invented a method which allows authors to appropriately reference the work of others by enabling the addition of citations to papers which have already been published. This method is implemented via the Internet system and contains one or more of the following elements: Post-Publication Citation List, Citations Under Discussion List, Non-Citators List, and a system enabling dialog between parties.

Abstract: A computer-based method is used for completing missing data needed in a transaction-tax-related application, where the method uses completing rules that define, depending on which missing data needs to be completed, what further data might be considered for deriving the missing data. A completing rule associated with the missing data is evaluated, and an auto-completion certainty parameter is determined as a result of the completing rule evaluation. Completed data is derived according to the certainty parameter.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for populating and submitting electronic forms by proxy over a data-packet-network. The apparatus comprises software running on a system of network-connected servers that enables a user, connected to one of the servers, to navigate to a site containing an electronic form and obtain data about the site and the form. The data obtained is used in conjunction with data about the user to construct a machine readable job order upon user request that may be executed for the purpose of automatic form population and submission to a host sponsoring the site. Upon acceptance of the submitted form, data used for log-in is stored where it is entered along with site data as a new registered site item for a user such that future navigation to the site, auto log-in and data return is performed automatically on behalf of the user.

Abstract: A method, medium and implementing processing system are provided for book marking a combination of frame URLs within a frameset and allowing the sharing on multiple PCs the saved form data that may have been filled in. The system uses an image as a hotspot, containing a complex target destination in the form of an XML structure with multiple URLs for multiple frames as well as captured form data. This system combines file types such as XML and JPG, e.g. as in sample file name ‘MyCapturedFramesAndFormData.XML.JPG’ or ‘MyCapturedFramesAndFormData.XML.GIF’. This combination provides a surprising effect compared to the prior systems, namely, launching the image in an enhanced web browser or in a web browser containing a new plug-in, displays the frame just as it was when saved, including frame set and data input to displayed forms.

In response to receiving the input text string, one or more target text strings corresponding to the input text string may be identified. One or more representations of one or more syntactic entities corresponding to the one or more target strings may be identified. The one or more representations, which may be selectable when displayed, may be caused to be displayed on a display. An indication of a selected representation, which may be one of the one or more representations, may be received. In response to receiving the indication of the selected representation, a syntactic entity may be caused to be displayed in the text box in place of the input text string. The syntactic entity may correspond to a syntactic entity represented by the selected representation.

Abstract: A unified electronic forms management system that comprises a network-based software implemented process that is designed to provide its users with access to a unified system and process of managing form data and the creation, storage, update and distribution of electronic forms. The unified electronic forms management system may include a centralized and unified electronic forms management system remote server, which communicates over a network with a remote form designer used by a user to create a form, a remote form viewer used by a form user, a database that stores the form data associated with the remote server, and external database(s) that optionally receive data transmitted by the unified system. Form recipient(s) have the option of receiving over the network the form for approval and/or to provide additional information.

Abstract: A system for generating customized badges. The system includes a computer, a printer coupled to the computer, a display coupled to the computer, and a computer readable medium. The computer readable medium includes instructions for opening a badge profile, providing a data entry screen based on the profile, receiving data in the data entry screen, and printing customized badges on the printer based on the received data. The badge profile defines a size, type, and location of data to be printed on the customized badges.

Abstract: In a method for computer-aided transfer of data from a document application into a data application having a set of data fields, a document is displayed in the document application opened on a computer with a display device, and wherein from the document data are to be transferred into the data application also opened on the computer. A name of a data field into which data are to be transferred is displayed on the display device. Via identification of a corresponding data value in the document on the display device, a character string representing the data value is automatically read out from the document and entered into the data field corresponding to the data field name in the data application via actuation of a predetermined button.

Abstract: For interactive television subscribers, a system (10) and method for persistent storage of common information relating to a user (25) required by multiple disparate iTV applications to be shared among said applications to ease the burden of data entry off the user. Subscribers do not have to repeatedly enter the same common user information required by multiple applications. The registration information inputted by a user (25) is logged, temporarily stored in the STB (35), and its contents transmitted to a remote central repository (100) at predetermined intervals.

The generation of the file encapsulated with data and an information management interface may be conducted in real-time and allows for all or part of an information management system to be transferred in a cross-platform file to a user that is not directly connected to the information management system.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates completing multiple electronic document applications. An interface component can receive two or more electronic documents, wherein each electronic document includes at least two or more questions with respective fill-in fields to be completed by a user input. A master field component can create a master field list that includes a first subset of questions and a second subset of questions and the first subset of questions is targeted toward a first user to answer and the second subset of questions are targeted toward second user to answer. A user segregation manager component can ensure an independent and secure log in to the master field list for each user to provide information. A form aggregation component can leverage the master field list to populate or update the electronic document.

Abstract: A method may be used to populate content within an electronic statement of work (SOW) template. A computing device may retrieve a first template to generate a SOW between a first and second party, wherein the first party is an organization and the second party is either a customer or provider to the organization. The first template may include references to the second party and the organization. The computing device may populate a second template based on the first template to generate a SOW between the organization and a third party. It may then identify within the first template references to the second party and to the organization, and may convert references to the second party in the first template into references to the organization within the second template, and may convert references to the organization within the first template into references to the third party within the second template.

Abstract: Embodiments of a computer system, a method and a computer-program product (e.g., software) for use with the computer system are described. These embodiments may be used to assist users while they are filling in forms. In particular, based at least in part on a current location of a user (such as a location of a portable electronic device associated with the user), an association with location and non-location information for an entity may be identified. For example, a predetermined relationship between the user's current location and the location of the entity may be accessed. Alternatively, a relationship between the user's current location and the location of the entity may be determined, for example, based at least in part on proximity. This identified location and/or non-location information for the entity may be used to fill in one or more fields in a form associated with an application.

Abstract: A method for populating forms based on a user interview. The method includes generating, using a computer processor, binary questions according to a first rule, receiving answers to the binary questions from the user, adjusting, using the computer processor, a binary question based on answers according to a second rule during the user interview, and identifying, using the computer processor, forms from a forms library based on the answers according to a third rule. The method also includes presenting based on the answers, data entry fields of forms to the user in a unified format, where related data entry fields are grouped together to form data entry menus in the unified format, receiving data from the user for the data entry fields, populating a portion of the forms to generate populated forms based on the data, and storing the populated forms in a repository on behalf of the user.

Abstract: A method, computer readable medium and system for web content optimization in single page display environment includes receiving in a system with a single page display environment an engagement of an activator for a data picker for at least one form field in a form page. The form page is replaced with a data picker web page associated with the engaged activator in the single page display environment. A selection for the at least one form field from the data picker web page is received. The data picker web page is replaced with the form page in the single page display environment. The form page is filled with any previously entered data and the at least one form field with the received selection.

Abstract: A method and system to track new submissions for an online forms service is provided. The system may include a request detector to detect a request to load a view (e.g., a web page) and a view provider to provide the view for display in response to the request. The view may comprise submission information for an electronic form and a value indicative of a number of new submissions.
