The form is rendered in accordance with the data and user interface elements of the loaded form template. A form viewer provides one or more graphic objects representing form controls. A composite template is created by adding, to the form template, an action element associated with each form control for which a graphic object is provided by the form viewer. The form is then processed according to the composite template and displayed to a user.

Abstract: A print control apparatus of a printing system, which performs overlay printing using a pre-created form, lets a user designate a field in the form for data to be inserted into the field in the overlay printing. In executing overlay printing of plural pages, the data to be inserted into the designated field is analyzed to determine whether or not one same data is repetitive. In a case where it is determined that the one same data is repetitive, the form is not created, but in a case where it is determined that the one same data is not repetitive, the form including the data is created.

If a match is discovered, the program tags the field of the recognized data with a corresponding type. Abstract: Methods for efficiently publishing electronic versions of traditionally paper-based government forms and utilizing the electronic forms for web-based transactional services are disclosed. Standard paper-based government forms are automatically converted to XML format, including data fields for entry of information by customers. Multiple electronic forms are accessible to the customer at a single access point, such as a web site. At the web site, the customer selects a form for filing with any of a plurality of government agencies. When presented to the customer, the selected form is presented with some of its data fields being pre-populated according to information retrieved from a database and specific to that customer. The customer completes the form, and a back-end system integrated with the web site handles the completed form, determines the appropriate government agency for filing the form, and transmits it as a transaction to the determined government agency.

The proxy server counts a number of instances in which a particular type of data is entered into each field in the webpage. If the number of instances exceeds a predetermined number for a specific field, then subsequent users are prompted to enter data of that particular type in that specific field.

In one aspect, a system and method normalize an image of a document and identify the relative positions of the vertical and horizontal lines in the normalized image. The system and method compare the relative positions of the horizontal and vertical lines of the model to the relative positions of horizontal and vertical lines of other models to identify a matching model.

In one embodiment, a server receives, from a user at a client device, user information including at least one text block. The server analyzes the text block to determine an authenticity value of the user information. The analysis may be based on the length of a lexicon of the text block, the size of a word such as the longest word in the text block, or the number of clauses in the text block. The analysis may be further based on expected values determined by such values in authentic text blocks of a similar nature. Based on the authenticity value, the system may allow the user to access the network service, disallow access to the network, allow conditional access, queue the registration application for further review, or take other actions.

Abstract: Automated form filling for mobile devices that provides reliable and accurate information to the forms, is easy to use, and is scaleable. A server-side approach is utilized, in which online applications for a mobile device are invoked on a server through a server-side proxy/cache. The proxy scans the content that is generated by the application for transmission to the mobile device to find forms that may be embedded in the content. When a form is encountered, fields of the form are filled with stored information based on automatically generated mapping information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for electronic document electronic document identification and signing are provided. Certain embodiments of the present invention provide for a virtual signature tool to create a unique, verifiable, electronic signature (SigCode) for signing documents using a mobile device of an individual. In some embodiments, document identifiers (e.g., QR codes) can be used to identify and retrieve documents for digital signing. For example, upon scanning other document identifier, an electronic version of the document (e.g., a waiver) can be retrieved from a server. The electronic document can be displayed on the user's mobile device (e.g., through a webpage). Then, the user can review the electronic document, fill in any required information, and sign the document with an electronic signature generated by the electronic signature tool.

A communications device for composing the text-based communication queries a translation service with a portion of text in a first language to obtain a replacement for the portion in a second language. A user may trigger a replacement query by composing the portion using at least one trigger symbol monitored by the communications device. Replacement may be confirmed with the user and at least one alternative replacement sought in response to the confirmation. The communications network may comprise a wireless network and the communications device a wireless mobile communications device.

In various embodiments, while filling in an electronic form, a requestor requests assistance in the form of information from a third party such as a supervisor. The requestor specifies a range of the part requiring assistance, and copies the partial form into a field of a message. An agent acquires information concerning the partial form based on the copy operation. The message including the information on the partial form is sent to the third party. The third party inputs information into an input field concerning the input request and returns the partial form in a message. The agent incorporates the information included in the returned message into the original electronic form.

Abstract: A system for conducting inspections and generating reports comprising: a device equipped with a global positioning system, a camera and broadband wireless Internet access and on which is installed a client application that comprises an inspection form; a Web services layer; a server; and a browser for accessing a Web application. A field worker enters data into the inspection form, the client application creates one or more records based on the data entered by the field worker, and the Web services layer transmits the record(s) to the server in real time if Internet access is available. Abstract: Systems and techniques for autocompleting form fields based on observed values. In general, in one implementation, the techniques include observing values entered in form field objects, generating likelihood assessments for possible values to be entered in a current form field object based on the observed values, the likelihood assessments indicating relative probability of the possible values being entered in the current form field object, and predicting a value for the current form field object based on the generated likelihood assessments. The techniques also include generating at least two likelihood assessments for each of the possible values, and aggregating the at least two likelihood assessments for each of the possible values. Generation of likelihood assessments can involve determining semantic similarity between form fields, including comparing field names with a semantic category, and generation of likelihood assessments can also involve comparing entered value ordering information.

Abstract: A system and method may assist in accurately inserting user data into a form document. An attribute may be received from a user, where the attribute is associated with an attribute name. A document may be presented including a form field element having an identifier. User information may be received into the form field element. It may be determined whether the user information matches the attribute. If so, the identifier associated with the form field element is mapped to the attribute name and the mapping is stored. Upon subsequent display of the form document, user data associated with the mapped attributed name may be inserted into the form field element based on the mapping.

Abstract: Systems and methods analyze the physical structure of text rows in a document image, including the positions of one or more alignments of one or more character blocks in one or more text rows of the document image. The systems and methods determine one or more groups of text rows that are placed into a class based on the structures of the text rows, such as the positions of the one or more alignments of the one or more character blocks in each text row. A pattern matching system then determines if one or more classes should be further combined into a combined class.
