Abstract: An embodiment of a multiparty document generation and management system includes a document server having a user interface module, a model module, a governance module, a query module, and a suggestion module. The system allows a plurality of users to generate a document model comprising a plurality of document elements and provides suggestions to the plurality of users regarding the document model structure. The system obtains standard language for each document element in the document model and generates a complete multiparty document. Upon validation of the complete multiparty document, the multiparty document and the document model and are stored in a data storage area. Once a document model has been created, the document model can be analyzed and traversed in response to a query to provide a forecast that includes an expected result of an application of the multiparty document to the subject matter of the query.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods for pre-loading a web page in a mobile web browser are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a partial or complete query in a mobile web browser from a mobile device prior to the partial or complete query being submitted by a user and receiving an identification of a predicted web page responsive to the partial or complete query. The method also includes loading but not rendering the predicted web page prior to the partial or complete query being query being submitted by the user, and displaying the loaded and rendered predicted web page in the mobile web browser after the completed query is submitted by the user when the predicted web page is determined to be responsive to the submitted query. Systems, graphical user interfaces, and machine-readable media are also provided.

Abstract: A mobile terminal 10 is equipped with an LCD monitor 32 and a touch panel input device 24 mounted on an upper surface of the LCD monitor 32. The LCD monitor 32 displays character input keys and a received mail, so that character strings in a body text of the received mail are arbitrarily selected by operations on the touch panel input device 24. Further, related information of a selected character string is temporarily stored so as to be correlated with an arbitrary character input key. Then, when a touch-and-slide operation is performed from the character input key utilized in the temporary storage to a body text of a transfer mail, the temporarily stored related information can be inserted into the body text of the transfer mail.

Abstract: A user device presents, to a user, media content provided from multiple providers and logs the presented media content from the multiple providers. The user device indicates, based on the multiple providers, proportions of the presented media content from the multiple providers during a particular reporting period and determines whether particular presented media content, of the presented media content from the particular reporting period, was available for presentation from another of the multiple providers. The user device generates a report, for the user, that indicates if the presented media content could have been consolidated among fewer of the multiple providers.

Abstract: In some implementations, documents can be presented on a display of a computing device based on a context of the computing device. The context can include a current time and/or current location associated with the computing device. The documents can be presented based on a time and/or location associated with the documents. Documents can be downloaded and shared between devices. Documents can be dynamically updated based on document vendor provided information and/or other network based resources. In some implementations, the various graphical interfaces described herein provide access to a variety of document types in an organized and efficient manner.

Abstract: The image processing apparatus is provided with a preview image generating portion for generating a preview image of image data to be output in the unit of an output job, and an image display portion such as a touch panel for displaying the generated preview image. The image display portion displays a generation stop key for stopping generation of the preview image during the generation of the preview image so as to be selectable by a user, and displays a different screen in accordance with a generation state of the preview image when the generation stop key is selected by a user operation.

Abstract: A computer-assisted visualization and potential adjustment of the layout of a document element involve multiple layout processes being sequentially applied. One set of one or more layout processes are applied to the element to determine an intermediate position of the element with respect to its initial position. Then, another set of one or more layout processes are applied to the element to determine a final position of the element. Rather than displaying just the final position on the display, the initial position, the intermediate position, and the final position of the element are all displayed. An intermediate control may be used to change the first set of one or more layout processes by moving the displayed intermediate position of the element. A final control may be used to change the second set of one or more layout processes by moving the displayed final position of the element.

Abstract: The subject matter of this document can be implemented in, among other things, a method that includes displaying a visual representation of an electronic document. The method also includes receiving an input to affect a modification of the electronic document, the modification including two or more document change operations, and causing each of the two or more document change operations to be applied to the electronic document. The method also includes determining a redraw approach for redrawing a portion of the visual representation of the electronic document based on the two or more document change operations, such that the redraw approach includes fewer redraws than document change operations. The method further includes performing a redraw of a portion of the visual representation of the electronic document based on the redraw approach.

The business application generates a packet that is transmitted to the distribution utility. The packet describes the document, such as a document of a particular type (where the document is based on variable content and/or variable layout), and a distribution method for the document. Distribution methods include print, ship, mail, fax, email, and save. The distribution utility generates and distributes the document (via an output device) based on the packet. The business application, which can be used with a variety of distribution utilities, includes a web front-end and a packet generator. The distribution utility, which can be used with a variety of business applications, includes control logic and a document processor. The document processor helps generate the document.

Abstract: A method for executing a web application comprising sending at least one query to at least one data source. After receiving data in response to the query, a web page is created having separate portions. A first of said portions provides for displaying received data, while a second of said portions provides for displaying a first placeholder for yet to be received data. A refresh code is inserted in the second portion. The web page is then transmitted.

Abstract: An electronic book system provides interfaces particularly suited to students' use of textbooks. Annotations are displayed and hidden using specific gestures and through selective movement of the reader as sensed by its accelerometer. Motion of the electronic book reader below a threshold speed causes a change in display of user-selected content in a first manner and motion above the threshold speed causes a change of display in a second manner.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods reduce the resolution of video before transference to a display system. In a particular embodiment, a video processing system receives viewing parameters for a viewing area on a display system. The processing system also receives video of a scene comprising a quantity of pixels in each of a plurality of images of the scene. The processing system then modifies the video based on the viewing parameters to produce modified video having a reduced quantity of pixels in each of the plurality of images. The modified video is transferred for display of at least a portion of the scene in the viewing area by the display system.

Abstract: A document processing system for accurately and efficiently analyzing documents and methods for making and using same. Each incoming document includes at least one section of textual content and is provided in an electronic form or as a paper-based document that is converted into an electronic form. Since many categories of documents, such as legal and accounting documents, often include one or more common text sections with similar textual content, the document processing system compares the documents to identify and classify the common text sections. The document comparison can be further enhanced by dividing the document into document segments and comparing the document segments; whereas, the conversion of paper-based documents likewise can be improved by comparing the resultant electronic document with a library of standard phrases, sentences, and paragraphs. The document processing system thereby enables an image of the document to be manipulated, as desired, to facilitate its review.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for rendering an image-based reflowable file. The image-based reflowable file may be configured to adapt itself to be rendered on various sized displays, such as by permitting lines of reflow objects to “reflow” according to the given size of a display. An image-based reflowable file may include one or more reflow objects, where each reflow object forms a sub-image and is defined in a bounding region. Rendering an image-based reflowable file may include determining a horizontal render position and a vertical render position for each bounding region.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for representing and controlling documents including rich text for Web based applications and browsers is provided so that editing of rich text can be facilitated within the browsers. The rich text is represented in a memory structure so that various formats may be flexible maintained. Text, images, tables, links and the like are represented in the memory structure, which may be maintained in databases for eventual editing. A controller class and subsidiary classes represent the rich text and provide methods to convert html to the memory structure and back, representing the rich text in a relational database, retrieving the rich text from a relational database, and presenting the rich text for editing. Abstract: A computer program product for standardizing the appearance of related accessories installed on a base product. The base product and related accessories can be visualized from a plurality of view-angles on a configurator application. An accessory is loaded onto the base product by an image transformation tool that manipulates the accessory to fit onto the base product. The transformed accessory is saved as a t-matrix profile for each view-angle of the base product, and the t-matrix profiles are associated with an accessory classification, which includes additional accessories that similarly fit the base product. The visualization data associated with the base product can then be updated with the t-matrix profiles. A customer GUI is provided for viewing the accessories fitted onto the base product where the transformations can automatically transform other accessories in the same accessory classification on the base product. In an embodiment, the base product is a vehicle.

Data and metadata in each data package report output are converted. The converted data and metadata are stored into a data package. A mobile content package is created using the data package and a visualization specification. A report and the mobile content package are delivered to the off-line mobile device. The report viewer is used to present the report. In response to a user interacting with a user interface control on the presented report, the interactive visualizer is launched to present the data visualization using the mobile content package.

Abstract: There is described a file editing apparatus, a file editing method and a file editing program, each of which makes it possible not only for the user to edit an XPS file easily and conveniently, but also for plural users, respectively located at different sites, to issue instructions for editing the same XPS file from the different sites at a time. The apparatus includes: a receiving section to receive a print job; a parsing section to parse the print job, so as to read file editing instruction information attached to the print job; and a file editing section that decompresses an XPS file to edit the XPS file decompressed, and then, compresses the XPS file after editing, so as to create an edited XPS file. Accordingly, the apparatus also makes it possible to edit the XPS file, irrespective of the OS or the environment of the application program currently executed.

Abstract: Determining document layout between different views is disclosed. The content of the document is reformatted between layouts while user experience elements are persisted between views. In general, a user may switch between document views. An anchor point for a first view is identified and the anchor point is mapped to the content of the new view. The anchor point is positioned in the new view to allow a smooth user transition between views. Zooming ratios and selections may be persisted between views to create continuity between views. Objects may be reformatted between views to best fit the view.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided that is capable of, in displaying a preview of image data to be output, confirming a confirmation point in accordance with an operation mode immediately without performing a user operation such as enlarging, reducing or shifting. The image processing apparatus (illustrated as a digital multi-functional peripheral) is capable of operating in each of a plurality of operation modes. The image forming apparatus is provided with an image display portion such as a touch panel for displaying a preview of image data and a set value storage portion such as control memory for storing a display set value in displaying a preview image at first on the image display portion for each operation mode.

Abstract: An automated method for developing new products within a development entity, comprises receiving respective catalogs of technology assets, each including at least one of a patent, trade secret, know-how, documentation, prototypes, pre-production units, production samples, tooling, and demonstration frameworks. Each catalog corresponds to a discrete pool of technology assets having subject matter in common. The development entity also receives, from the originating owner, title to each pool in exchange for an equity interest in the development entity and an option to re-acquire the pool upon payment of a reacquisition fee to at least one primary investor. Further development of each technology asset pool is funded by at least one primary investor, who receives an equity interest in the development entity in exchange for its capital investments. Costs expended by the development entity to develop new product concepts corresponding to each asset pool are separately tracked.

Abstract: Fonts may be activated based on the applications that are launched or operating on a computing device. Accordingly, if an application needs a particular set of fonts, the fonts may be activated upon launching of that application. Fonts may further be deactivated when they are no longer necessary or needed by the application (e.g., when the application is terminated). If supported by an operating system, instead of activating and deactivating the fonts, fonts may be pre-activated and then hidden from the operating system. The pre-activated fonts may be revealed when needed for the applications and then hidden again when the applications terminate.

Abstract: An electronic pasting method for pasting electronic data in consideration of printed and written data, including updating pasted data when electronic data is updated after it is pasted. The electronic pasting method uses a detecting unit and a paste information updating unit. The detecting unit detects a paste stroke made over two print sheets filled to denote a user's pasting action with which part or whole of a printed matter of electronic document information is pasted on printed matter, then detects the pasting action from a set of paste strokes, thereby obtaining a paste-from document, a paste-to document, and a paste position according to the pasting action detected by the detecting unit. The paste information updating unit updates the e-document, the printed matter information, and the written information according to the above paste information.

Abstract: A method operable in a portable terminal is provided, which enables a first aid guide to be displayed even in a locked screen state, whereby instructions for an emergency illness are provided. A first aid icon may be displayed in the locked screen state, wherein selection of the icon is detected as a request to display a first aid guide. If a preset illness has been stored in the portable terminal in association with the portable terminal user, the first aid guide corresponds to the preset illness. An emergency contact and treatment instructions corresponding to the illness may be displayed in the first aid guide.

Abstract: A computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions for: (1) tracking an inventory of ingredients available to a user; (2) generating at least one menu based at least in part on user defined criteria; and (3) creating shopping lists containing at least the ingredients required to prepare recipes included in the at least one menu. In various embodiments, the computer-readable medium stores instructions for generating menus that do not include recipes that contain ingredients from a list of ingredients to exclude. In particular embodiments, the computer-readable medium stores instructions for creating shopping lists that do not include ingredients in the inventory of ingredients available to the user.

Abstract: A document rights management system (DRM) defines an unrenderable origin designator in a media item that does not display or alter the physically rendered version of an instantiation of the media item. The unrenderable designator does not appear as an obscured or occluded feature in a printed or displayed versions. The rendered version is unaffected by the unrenderable designator because it does not result in any displayable features. The unrenderable designator is stored in a display list of the media item and appears as an attribute of objects such that the function to cause the display object to be undisplayable, or unrenderable, are not immediately apparent. The DRM system encodes a designator in an attribute of a display object for rendering according to a media rendering format such as PDF, such that the designator causes the display object to be unrenderable and indicates the origin of the media item.
