Abstract: Systems and methods allow collaboration in the creation of “Request For” (RfX) documents, and the drafting of responses thereto. In an embodiment, the system may create RfX document views comprising different subsets of the overall content of a voluminous RfX document. These views can be assigned to particular individuals or teams, who may in turn delegate the views to others to collect additional information. A user can also create and delegate sub-views further restricting the information available to others. In this manner, a user can define a view containing a single section of the RfX, or a collection of particular questions, and then delegate the view to an individual having particular expertise in that section or question.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and method for viewing electronic documents. Briefly described, one embodiment of the system, among others, includes an electronic viewer application to display contents of an electronic document; and a visual indicator logic configured to display at least one visual indicator on the electronic display, each visual indicator indicating a portion of the contents that are to be subsequently displayed on the electronic display in response to a navigation command. Other systems and methods are also provided.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a computer-readable storage medium operating in a web server having computer instructions for receiving from an Internet browser a request to create a viewing profile for a web page, creating the viewing profile by generating an asynchronous script for processing at least a portion of data supplied by a web service, embedding the asynchronous script in the web page, and presenting at the Internet browser the updated web page with the embedded asynchronous script. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A display device for displaying a web page is provided, which displays each of the contents contained in a web page so that users can recognize whether the content is new or not. The display device has a displaying unit, an acquiring unit, and a changing unit. The displaying unit displays an image of each of the contents contained in the web page. The acquiring unit acquires a reference time point as a criterion of the age of each of the contents. The changing unit changes, for each of the contents, the image of the content displayed by the displaying unit to an image in which the age of the content is reflected in accordance with expiration of the reference time point.

Abstract: Tickers are populated with location-based information that is selected according to the geographic location of communication devices. The location of a communication device is identified based on a GPS system, proximity to transmitters in a wireless network, user input, or using other techniques. Location-appropriate content is obtained either in real-time from the network or from a local data store at the communication device. In general location-based, context-aware content can be displayed on tickers associated with a variety of communication devices, including mobile communication devices and “immobile” or stationary personal computers.

Abstract: Apparatuses for associating and displaying messages and contacts in a way that allows users to access either category of information is provided. One apparatus includes a processing element that associates the messages with corresponding contacts and also includes a memory element configured to store contacts and messages received or transmitted. The apparatus may also include a display such that the processing element may generate upon the display a visual representation of the contacts and messages. Messages are associated with corresponding contacts and are displayed according to the associations. For example, a message may be associated with a contact based on a common identifier of the contact and the message. Messages associated with a selected contact may be displayed, and contacts associated with messages that have been received or sent may also be displayed according to user inputs. Methods and computer program products are also provided.

Abstract: A news reader is disclosed which selects the optimal articles for presentation to the user and which facilitates a sense of community among users. Upon receiving an article from a news provider, the news reader analyzes characteristics associated with the article. Amongst other things, the characteristics may indicate whether the article represents a breaking news story or whether the article includes advertisements. After analyzing the characteristics of the article, the news reader determines whether the article is to be designated a primary/presentable article and aggregates the article with other primary/presentable articles related to the same topic.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing previews to mobile client devices of files stored in a web-based collaboration platform are disclosed. In one embodiment, a system sends a request to preview a file uploaded to the web-based collaboration platform. The system receives preview information for accessing and manipulating preview of the uploaded file. The preview information includes a scheme for accessing file segments of the preview of the uploaded file. The file segments are byproducts of a conversion of the file from the source format to a target format and have a requested preview format. The system further includes a viewer to access the file segments of the uploaded file using the scheme. The viewer displays the accessed file segments on a touch screen responsive to swiping actions on the touch screen, the swiping actions determined based on the source format.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for a configurable gaming system. Certain embodiments of the system include a local storage for storing a markup language file and token resolution information and a markup language viewer for processing the markup language file. The markup language viewer processes contents of the markup language file and resolves tokens in the markup language file using the token resolution information from the local storage to generate a resolved markup language file for display at a gaming system. The markup language file may include display content, markup language tags, and tokens. The markup language file may include read-only information and variable information to be resolved by the markup viewer for display. The markup language file may be a binary markup language file including tokens or other indicia for resolution.

The terminal includes: an instruction receiving unit, configured to receive an instruction which is for setting a schedule event and of a user, where the schedule event includes schedule content and a schedule date; and a schedule displaying unit, configured to display the schedule event on a time axis. In graphics programs, a user may define a drawing (referred to as a model) with various layouts or views of the drawing. Each layout or view may be formatted for a particular output device. Consequently, one or more embodiments of the invention associate one or more files, layouts, or views with one or more output devices. Additionally, each output device may be configured for a particular file, layout, or view. One or more embodiments of the invention provide for the association of one or more output device configurations with one or more files, layouts, or views.

Abstract: A method for displaying an electronic document includes obtaining a reading mark of the electronic document, which is recorded at a last display of the electronic document; identifying a content of the electronic document corresponding to the reading mark under a current reading mode; and displaying the identified content. A reading device that performs the disclosed method is also provided.

Abstract: A method for providing a link in an electronic apparatus capable of reproducing contents, includes storing a first part of a first contents in a link storage area, forming a link between a second part of a second contents and the first part stored in the link storage area, and if the link is selected, displaying the first part while a contents screen including the second part is displayed. Accordingly, a user may easily find related contents from among contents stored in the electronic apparatus as a link is formed between related contents.

Abstract: An intermediary system is disposed along a communication path between a user device, such as a Web-enabled mobile phone, and a content server. The user device sends a request, such as an HTTP GET request, for a data page at the content server. The data page may be, for example, the hypertext markup language (HTML) code of a Web page. The intermediary receives the request and determines whether the requested data page includes a data reference, such as a uniform resource locator (URL) of an embedded image in the Web page. If the requested page includes a data reference, the intermediary creates a preload instruction and sends the preload instruction to the user device in a response to the request for the data page. The preload instruction instructs the user device to load the referenced data. The preload instruction may be a hidden frame.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for providing a marker with an item of invitational content. A marker provided with an initial view of invitational content communicates features associated with a subsequent view, including the specifications or content of the invitational content, user terminal, or content provider. The marker is determined from input gathered from numerous data sources and according to a set of rules specifying what features and where and how the features are communicated. The rules can dictate that certain variants be selected based on gathered input concerning the user terminal or a user profile. The marker can be determined and changed based on real time status changes of the user terminal. A marker can receive input from the user which can be used to select a variant or change a setting. Marker data is stored and used to create reports and optimize future campaigns.

Abstract: The present invention provides a printer control device that includes a storage device, a printer searching section, a print preview creation section and a display control section. The printer searching section searches for printers connected to a network, acquires pieces of print setup information on print setups set in extracted printers, correlates the pieces of acquired print setup information with the respective printers and stores the information in the storage device. The print preview creation section creates pieces of print preview data of designated data for respective printers, and the display control section causes an identical display device to simultaneously be displayed as a print preview. Utilizing the present invention it possible to arrange and display, on the identical display device, a plurality print previews each schematically showing a print result brought by a plurality of printing apparatuses so that a user can easily select a desired print apparatus.

Abstract: A dynamic content routing network routes update messages containing updates to properties of live objects from input sources to clients. The clients receive a web page having live objects, identify the object IDs associated with the objects, and contact an object state storage to obtain update messages specifying the objects' initial properties. The clients register the object IDs with the routing network. The routing network maintains a registry of object IDs and clients. The input source provides an update messages to the routing network containing the object ID and data for updating a property of the object. The routing network routes update messages from the input source to the clients registered for the object ID contained in the message. Upon receipt of the message, a client updates the specified property of the live object. The update messages are also provided to, and stored by, the object state storage.

Abstract: A workflow application allows users to store, manage, and perform tasks related to workflows comprised of ordered sets of documents. The application provides an interface for creating and managing a workflow. Each document added to the workflow is assigned to a particular position in the workflow. Via the interface, the user saves data defining the workflow. In this manner, the workflow may be shared or preserved for subsequent re-use. The application allows a user to perform various tasks with respect to the workflow. Via an interface control presented by the application, the user instigates such tasks. In response, the application causes the task to be performed for each document in the workflow in an order corresponding to the arrangement of the documents within the workflow. For example, the application may render and print each document in the workflow. Or, the application may generate a combined workflow report.

Abstract: An MMR system includes an analytics module for monitoring and analyzing the creation and usage of visual content search. The analytics module is part of a MMR gateway and provides a mechanism for administrators to determine the usage patterns and other information about users of the MMR system. This information is fed back to other components of the MMR system to improve its operation. The analytics module comprises a monitoring module, a usage database, an access analysis module and a presentation module. The monitoring module is coupled to other components of the MMR gateway and collects information about retrieval request, image queries, context information and recognition results. The usage database stores the information collected by the monitoring module. The access analysis module performs queries on the usage database and analyzes the results. The output of the access analysis module is provided to the presentation module for presentation or output to other systems and users.

The presentation of words is momentarily paused at sentence and chapter transitions. This momentary pause allows the user to maintain perspective as to the user's location in an electronic text (e.g., a book) and enhances the reading experience and ultimately enhances the speed of the reading exercise and the retention of content.

Servers that are accessible from the Internet maintain persistent multiple architectural documents of different media types. An online user is provided, from the servers via the Internet, a set of basic virtual design tools that have persistent properties and may be copied. The virtual design tools may also be utilized to work with the architectural documents. A workspace is also provided for viewing, accessing, and modifying the architectural documents.
