Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for providing dynamic context assistance to a user of a system, such as a storage system. One or more current command line interface (CLI) entries that are entered in a CLI of the system are received and a current state of the system is determined. Dynamic context assistance is then generated for one or more current CLI entries based on entered values of the one or more CLI entries. In this regard, the dynamic context assistance can be generated and displayed in a text or graphical form when one or more dynamic context assist keys are entered in the CLI in conjunction with the current CLI entry.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for creating and using customized avatar instances to reflect current user states are disclosed. In various implementations, the user states can be defined using trigger events based on user-entered textual data, emoticons, or states of the device being used. For each user state, a customized avatar instance having a facial expression, body language, accessories, clothing items, and/or a presentation scheme reflective of the user state can be generated. When one or more trigger events indicating occurrence of a particular user state are detected on the device, the avatar presented on the device is updated with the customized avatar instance associated with the particular user state.

Abstract: In a computer-implemented method, a portion of an electronic document is displayed on a touch screen display of a portable multifunction device. The displayed portion has a vertical position and a horizontal position in the electronic document. An object is detected on or near the displayed portion of the electronic document. In response to detecting the object, a vertical bar and a horizontal bar are displayed on top of the displayed portion. The vertical bar has a vertical position on top of the displayed portion that corresponds to the vertical position in the electronic document of the displayed portion. The horizontal bar has a horizontal position on top of the displayed portion that corresponds to the horizontal position in the electronic document of the displayed portion. After a predetermined condition is met, display of the vertical bar and of the horizontal bar is ceased.

According to one embodiment, an apparatus includes icon logic configured to generate, in response to detecting a selection of a page element, an icon that indicates whether contextual content associated with the page element is available. The page element is a display element of a graphical user interface (GUI) for an application. The apparatus includes context logic configured to generate a context panel in response to detecting an input associated with the icon. The context logic is configured to generate the context panel with a first tab and a second tab. The first tab includes a description of the page element and the second tab includes a set of comments from users about the page element.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems and methods for task-based tagging and resource classification, which allow tags or metadata to emerge from execution of work-related tasks and activities. In certain embodiments, tags can be automatically extracted from activities performed, for example utilizing a textual description of tasks carried out by an employee. Accumulated tags can then be utilized to describe enterprise resources. Automatic tagging or metadata annotation can be integrated with everyday work utilizing one or more techniques. Candidate tags can be extracted from a task written description utilizing an algorithm that analyzes keywords. Candidate tags can be refined, for example by clustering utilizing a K-means approach. Candidate tags can be ranked based on an overall frequency adjusted against time, with the importance of a tag declining with time.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a voice guidance function for visually challenged people in an electronic device, and more particularly, an apparatus and method for inducing a touch input location of a user who uses contents data in the electronic device and for changing a data analysis (or data reading) direction and area. A method provides a voice guidance function in an electronic device. The method includes outputting a reproduction screen of contents, determining a data analysis area by confirming an arrangement of data constituting an output screen, and inducing a user input to the determined data analysis area, wherein the data arrangement comprises at least one of a line, a line start point, a line end point, a sentence start point, a sentence end point, and a page of the output screen.

Abstract: A system for creating cartoons for mobile devices facilitates the creation and dissemination of cartoons to a plurality of mobile devices and computers. A cartoon can comprise of multiple panels, and each panel, in addition to graphics and text, can have an ordered set of audio (voice, music, etc.) provided, which are played back in a mobile device by a cartoon client component in the specified order for each of the panels. A computer or PC comprising the cartoon creator functionality is used to generate cartoons and communicate it to a cartoon distribution server.

Abstract: An embodiment of a graphical user interface for specifying an item order includes a graphical order generator arranged in a geometric pattern. The graphical order generator may include an order input tool including a category section for displaying a plurality of inter-dependent dynamically filtered category indicators arranged in a sequential and user-modifiable hierarchy, and an option section for displaying a plurality of selectable option indicators associated with a category indicator. The category indicator may include a graphical representation of an active state or incomplete state before selection of an option indicator, and a graphical representation of a complete state after selection of the option indicator.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a graphical user interface (GUI) of a computer security application is automatically configured according to a user profile of the user. Upon installation of the computer security application, a desired GUI complexity questionnaire is displayed to the user. The application then matches the user to a user profile out of a set of predefined user profiles, according to the user's answers to the questionnaire. User profiles reflect a user's desired complexity of display and control (e.g. Novice/Intermediate/Expert, Basic/Intermediate/Advanced). The information displayed and application controls provided by the GUI window vary in detail according to the user profile. Selecting a user profile propagates multiple individually-user-configurable display and control settings of the GUI, as well as under-the-hood (non-GUI) settings of the anti-malware application.

Abstract: An integrated real-time display is provided that includes video images and a graphical representation of the transmission path, where each video image is associated with a point along the graphical representation of the transmission path. A number of monitoring points, which correspond to critical points along the transmission path are identified. The points may be selected for technical reasons or economic reasons. The graphical representation of the transmission path can be a logical representation showing the logic blocks along the transmission path or a physical representation showing the devices along the transmission path.

Abstract: Mobile communications devices display contextually relevant information based on the presence, status, and identification of a user. Lens templates control how the information is displayed and can be customized and designed for specific usage profiles. The lenses that are used can be updated at any time to accommodate changes in a user's presence. The granularity of the lenses and corresponding information can also vary to accommodate different needs and preferences. Lenses can also be specialized for different events or venues. The lenses allow a user to access contextually relevant information from a mobile communications device having limited display and/or browse capabilities without requiring a user to navigate through undesired information, wasting valuable resources in the process.

Abstract: An auxiliary method and an auxiliary device in an information configuration process are provided. The auxiliary method in an information configuration process includes: reading an input item to be configured and an input value corresponding to the input item in a configuration interface; searching for a help information template and an input value transform rule which are corresponding to the input item; transforming the input value according to the input value transform rule; generating help information for the input item by using the help information template and the transformed input value; and displaying the help information in the configuration interface. The present invention further provides an auxiliary device in an information configuration process. Embodiments of the present invention help to improve efficiency of information configuration.

In one embodiment, an operating system may comprise an expandable component tree graphic, comprising a plurality of parent icons and a plurality of child icons. In some embodiments of the present techniques, a plurality of dynamic component graphics are associated with the plurality of parent icons and the plurality of child icons, whereby the dynamic component graphics are adapted to change based on changes relating to the status of a computer resource. Additionally, a configurable sorting system may be adapted to pass a dynamic component graphic feature up the expandable component tree graphic from one of the plurality of child icons to at least one of the plurality of parent icons based on a configuration of the sorting system.

Abstract: Systems and methods for visually representing scripted behaviors are provided. A system is disclosed that includes an authoring program executable on a computing device and configured to display a visual scripting interface. The visual scripting interface may be configured to display a plurality of user-selectable graphical building blocks. Each graphical building block may represent a respective component of a script, and may be spatially arrangable within the visual scripting interface to visually represent a script for a target scripted object. Input selectors may be provided on the graphical building blocks to enable users to input script information, and status indicators and messages may also be displayed on the graphical building blocks to inform users whether script information has been properly inputted. Propagation tools may be provided to enable users to successively add new graphical building blocks to build a tree that represents a script sentence.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling an end-user of an online exercise application to change exercise difficulty levels by interacting with a control panel on the application graphical user interface. The end-user may cause the application to retrieve an easier or harder exercise video in order to achieve an adaptable, personalized level of difficulty. For example, if an end user begins watching an exercise of a given difficulty level within a module, the use may input a command to transition to a more (or less) difficult exercise within that module. The application will retrieve a new exercise and present the newly retrieved exercise to the end user. A “storyboard” depicting each of the exercises in the program may be depicted in a small row of tiles below a video player.

The first of the component items is automatically selected as a currently active item.

Abstract: A system and method of assisting a user include displaying a status of a configuration. A point of progress is detected before completion of a web based configuration. Data associated with the point of progress is sent to a server to perform a query of a knowledgebase with the data to identify information associated with the point of progress. Information is received from the server in response to the server performing the query of the knowledgebase and provided to a user to assist the user with completing the web based configuration.

Abstract: An embedded device sensor and actuation web page access system and method for providing a web application (such as a web page) access to sensor data about an embedded device and access to actuation mechanisms (such as vibration) associated with the device. The system and method can use the sensor data to obtain context information about the embedded device and understand what a user of the device is doing at any given moment. The sensor data can be used by the web application to influence how content is served up to the user. In some embodiments, the sensor data is provided to the web server using the headers in HTTP requests. Moreover, actuation commands for actuation mechanisms on the embedded device are provided using the headers of HTTP responses. Embodiments of the system and method provide a website access to sensor data and actuation commands without changing website operation.

The agent alters screen features and visual presentation of the existing interface and provides additional alternative operations for navigating and executing features defined in the existing interface. In an embodiment, the agent provides a custom interface overlaid onto the existing interface to provide a customer-facing interface for individuals that are sight impaired.

In a pressure sensitive display embodiment, a user maintains a convenient touch position to the display, performs a summon gesture, and user interface object(s) are automatically moved to the user's touch position as requested. When a summon gesture is recognized, a user interface object, or point or interest thereof, automatically transitions to a desired position where the gesture was recognized. Objects can transition in a variety of manners. Also, a magnetic mode can be activated for virtually magnetizing objects of interest to a user's position, for example as the user touches various places on the display. A user's configurations can be stored into a cloud system for convenient access and use at a plurality of different data processing system user interfaces.

Abstract: An online video search system, including a tag discoverer including a web encyclopedia crawler for (i) accessing a web encyclopedia to find web pages related to at least one designated reference topic, and (ii) retrieving a plurality of web pages by performing an n-level depth recursive traversal of the web pages found, and web pages that are hyper-linked thereto, a concept extractor for extracting important concepts founds in the retrieved plurality of web pages, and a user interface for providing at least of the important concepts extracted by the web page processor to an online video search engine. A method and a computer-readable storage medium are also described and claimed.

Abstract: The various embodiments herein disclose a method of providing help content to users for a plurality of applications installed on the user device to direct users on how to proceed with operation of a particular application. The method comprises selecting an application installed in the user device, activating a help mode function provided in a user device, checking for the help content corresponding to the selected application, connecting the user device to an central server if a help content pertaining to the selected application is not available, synchronizing the selected application with the applications in the central server and extracting the help content for the selected application from the central server to the user device. The activation of the help mode disables the plurality of applications installed in the user device and sets the user device to function under a help mode.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing instructional help, at multiple levels of sophistication, in a learning application includes assistance in the form to at least two optional levels of sophistication. The user can select any level of sophistication according to desire or need. The levels allow for flexibility in learning relative to the person involved, the amount of previous knowledge the person has about the subject matter, the differences in how different people learn. In one embodiment, the assistance is contained in programming on a CD-ROM which is used in an interactive computerized system.

Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus, system, and method for visual contextual searching in a computer application that has a graphical user interface (GUI). The apparatus includes a selection module that defines a selection area of the GUI that is displayed on the computer display. The user provides the necessary input defining the selection area using an input device such as a mouse to define the boundary of the selection area. A topic module determines a set of topics related to the GUI elements that are displayed within the selection area defined by the user. The topic module may make the association using a visual map. A display module then displays these results for the user in a results section that is shown on the display. The apparatus may apply filter rules to restrict the number and types of topics that the display module lists. Users may also associate topics with a particular GUI element or disassociate topics with a particular GUI element.
