The embodiments then identify a view definition corresponding to the task selection with which to display managed object data related to the managed object selection. The embodiments then display a view corresponding to the at least one view definition on a graphical user interface of the computer system and obtain managed object data related to the managed object selection based upon managed object data references contained in the view definition.

  • Patent number: 6973357
Abstract: A method and configuration system are used for producing an application-specific functional module from a predefined functional module for a programmable controller. In this context, a marking device is useable to mask out subfunctions of the predefined functional module, so that just the software code for those subfunctions which is required in order to satisfy the functionality of the application-specific functional module are readable into the programmable controller. In this case, it is simultaneously necessary to ensure that only that software code which is not imperatively required for calculating a result for at least one of the unmarked subfunctions is masked out and is therefore not read in.

  • Patent number: 6970813
Abstract: A system and method that facilitates the modeling of an architecture through XML configuration is presented. Using this system and method, system developers that are developing a modeled architecture may, before system implementation begins, visualize and understand the system architecture and behavior. Similarly, during the development and deployment phases, developers may monitor different graphical views and/or the controller implementation in order to determine the look and/or feel of the application. Accordingly, different view and/or controller implementations may be plugged into the present invention to give a different look and/or feel. The application may also be adapted to any system that uses any middleware or protocol to communicate.

  • Patent number: 6941359
Abstract: A visualization method for a hub network configuration allows exploration of a chosen network by way of a graphical display interface (GUI), wherein multiple distinct network segments such as lines or rings are shown attached to a common node or centralized hub. The technique combines a graphical view of the segments controlled by a segment selector. The selector is coupled to a series of display indicators and a list of the attached rings contained in the network. The list can contain descriptive elements of the segments, or can provide links to such detail. A mutually exclusive selection of the attached segments is enabled using either the selector or the list of attached segments. For each segment selected, the display indicators can show the currently displayed segments on the GUI, help to highlight on the GUI a selected attached segment and provide an indication of attached segments that are related in function to the selected segment.

Abstract: Graphical user interfaces and methods for building Boolean queries and viewing search results using search cells, combination cells, toolbar, and menu bar. Search cells are movable within a workspace and contain a text field, facet type designation, advanced button, and hit count. Categories are chosen using a category walker. Combination cells, a Boolean combination of two or more selected search cells, are also movable and contain a combine icon, hit count, and an expression field. Boolean logic can be graphically depicted with the use of combination brackets. Contents of combination brackets are controllable through use of movable graphical pins between search cells. Alternatively, the Boolean query is depicted in a folder tree hierarchy, where search folders are shown within combination folders, which are represented as logical AND, OR, or MINUS folder icons. An applet in a browser accesses a server through the Internet.

  • Patent number: 6880127
Abstract: The present invention provides a systematic automated procedure for routing connections in display applications such as a network topology interface. In one embodiment, the invention first creates an “ideal routing” between two given nodes. The ideal routing includes three segments that join the nodes. If any obstructions exist on the original segments of the ideal routing then the procedure systematically reroutes the appropriate segments to achieve an efficient, visually cohesive and organized routing. The routing procedure operates at different layers, groups and subgroups of nodes. By using the procedure with a layered design it is possible to achieve fast, uniform and effective routing in very complex systems with many nodes and inter-node connections.
