Abstract: A remote desktop application displays a remote graphical interface on a local computer screen. A remote entity, for example, a taskbar, is anchored along an edge of the remote graphical interface on the local computer screen. The anchored taskbar and the remote interface are displayed on the local computer screen such that the remote entity is in a viewable position on the local computer screen. The anchoring can be turned on and off in response to a user selection of a control. The control can be provided to position the remote entity along a bottom, top, left, or right edge in response to a user selection.

Abstract: Content from multiple remote/legacy consoles is aggregated within a central console to provide a single point-of-access for managing remote resources. Preferred embodiments deploy the central console as a network-accessible application, and this console application communicates with remotely-located console applications (and/or other locally-executing functions) that carry out tasks selected from the central console by an administrator and then return content generated by those tasks for rendering in the central console. The run-time environment used at the central console is not required to match the run-time environment of the remote/legacy consoles.

Abstract: A method (400) for online collaboration among users at different locations sharing common motion imagery (302). The method involves storing data defining the motion imagery (MID) in a data store (104) associated with a motion image server (MIS) and communicating the motion imagery to a first client device (FCD). The method also involves generating at the FCD (106) an annotation (304, . . . , 308) capable of being displayed together with the motion imagery. The annotation is defined by metadata distinct from the MID and containing information to associate the metadata with the motion imagery. The method further involves communicating the metadata to the MIS (102), storing the metadata in the data store, and communicating the MID and the metadata to a second client device (SCD). The SCD (108) selectively displays the annotation together with the motion imagery in response to an input command of a second user.

Abstract: An interactive avatar is disclosed. This avatar is an animated character created by a user and is capable of carrying out the user's instructions, both in real time and as a predefined script, in applications such as computer screens (“desktops”) or smartphones. The avatar exists in one place at a time, and may freely move to the applications of other willing participants. While the acts are essentially harmless, other users have the ability to restrict or control the actions allowed on their applications, as well as to reverse the effects of others' avatars.

A system for supporting a remote controller may include: a profile storage unit to store a plurality of profiles containing functions of the remote controller and information associated with the functions of the remote controller; a receiver to receive an input signal from the remote controller, and to interpret an event of the input signal based on a profile corresponding to the remote controller; and a presentation unit to access a web server, to transform, to a predetermined behavior, at least one event interpreted by the receiver, and to request the web server for an operation corresponding to the behavior.

Abstract: A problem management system can include a system architecture having a first horizontal layer including a plurality of access interfaces, each access interface adapted to receive a problem report from a customer. The problem report indicates that the customer is having a problem with a network-based service of a plurality of network-based services. The architecture also includes a task management domain at the first horizontal layer adapted to obtain a workflow, a problem resolution rule, or any combination thereof, from a second horizontal layer of the problem management system, and provide a diagnostic tool, troubleshooting information, or any combination thereof, via the access interface. The architecture also includes an agent support platform to provide the diagnostic tool, troubleshooting information, a trouble report associated with the customer, a problem history associated with the customer, or any combination thereof, to an agent via another access interface after the customer contacts the agent.

Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for providing a User Interface (UI) component to a second Remote User Interface Client (RUIC) incapable of directly receiving the UI component from a Remote User Interface Server (RUIS) in a first RUIC capable of directly receiving the UI component from the RUIS. In the method, the first RUIC discovers the second RUIC that will receive the UI component. Upon discovering the second RUIC, the first RUIC performs a device capability matching procedure between the RUIS and the second RUIC. After completion of the device capability matching procedure, the first RUIC provides the second RUIC with a UI component received from the RUIS and processed for the second RUIC, and delivers control information for the UI component from the second RUIC to the RUIS.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a Remote User Interface (RUI) by a Remote User Interface Client (RUIC) device in a home network, in which it is checked whether control information received from the third RUIC device capable of controlling an RUI realized in the RUIC device was generated by a Control User Interface (CUI) included in an allowed CUI list, and a CUI of the third RUIC device is updated if the received control information was not generated by a CUI included in the allowed CUI list.

Abstract: A system and methods for providing a Control User Interface (CUI) for controlling a Networked Device (ND) with a Remote Controller (RC) are provided. A Service Provider (SP) receives capability information of the RC and CUI information from the ND, generates a reconfigured CUI based on a location of the RC from which to control the ND, and transmits the reconfigured CUI to the ND. The ND receives the reconfigured CUI from the SP and transmits the reconfigured CUI to the RC. The RC receives the reconfigured CUI from the ND and controls the ND with the reconfigured CUI.

Abstract: A method and system for enabling display of real-time clinical trial enrollment data. A set of computer forms corresponding to an application enable administrative personnel to define a plurality of clinical trial parameters, including trial protocols, clinical sites, and optional regions. As the data is entered, it is stored in a central database, typically through a dedicated connection between a client running the application and the database. Software and infrastructure for supporting an Internet web portal is also provided, whereby the web portal enables clinical site personnel to enter subject enrollment data that is stored in the database as it is entered (i.e., in real-time). Various charts pertaining to the subject enrollment data may then be generated, including subject status charts and subject enrollment rate charts. In general, the charts may be aggregated across individual sites, regions, and all sites corresponding to a given protocol.

Abstract: A device and a method for a remote console preview of a remote server are disclosed. A preview image corresponding to a remote console image of the remote server is displayed. The preview image is updated at a predetermined time interval. A first selection of the preview image is received, and a remote console session of the remote server is initiated in response to receiving the first selection of the preview image.

Abstract: A platform application and methods of operation that integrate both native and third-party modules into an integrated environment on an inmate computing device is disclosed. Third-party modules or systems are applications meant to operate independent from the platform application. Information is communicated between the platform application and third-party module or system to add audit, alarm and other functions across all modules or systems controlled by the platform software. The third-party module or system is audited to allow triggering of rules that cause remedial action to be taken. Triggers can be on actions not monitored by a particular third-party module or system.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a solution for bandwidth usage reduction of remote desktop software based on preferred rendering of a user selected area. The solution can allow a user to select a specified region of a remote desktop to gain precedence over non-selected regions. An area preference engine can be configured to convey user preference, settings, and selection areas. Selected regions can be user configured to render with different settings than non-selected regions such as resolution, color depth, frame rate, update frequency, and the like. Non-selected regions can be configured to receive lower priority updates than selected regions.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing remote control of separate media sources over a network using, for example, pop-up windows graphically depicting remote control devices within corresponding tabbed windows of a web browser. A browser plug-in or add-on application provides a graphical depiction of a remote control device associated with each media source and receives a command from the viewer via interaction with the graphical depiction of the remote control device. The command is transmitted across the network to the placeshifting device to modify a media stream provided by the desired media source.

Abstract: There is disclosed a network system in which the position, attribute, and status of a desired device on a network can visually comprehensibly be grasped. A server manages location information indicating information on the device position in a hierarchical manner and attribute information from the device. Each device holds a plurality of status information (icon information) in accordance with various statuses of the device. A client holds map information corresponding to each class of the location information, and overlaps and outputs (display output) device status information obtained by communication by a polling system with the device detected by search in the server, and map information corresponding to the location information of the device.

Abstract: A graphical user interface and method for customer centric network management. The graphical user interface includes a first view showing text input by a user indicative of customer identification data corresponding to a customer in a network. This data is received by a server connected to the user. The server retrieves stored information corresponding to the customer identification data from a database and provides the stored information and actual circuit path information corresponding to a customer service based on the stored information to the graphical user interface. A second view of the graphical user interface shows the stored information, and a third view shows a graphical representation of a customer path corresponding to the actual circuit path information.

Abstract: A file system for a stage lighting system that maintains the different files associated with the stage lighting system. Each of the files that can represent an effect are maintained within the system within a configuration file. The configuration file can be updated on each start of the system so that the system can maintain information indicative of current configuration files. A test mode can also be entered in which a pre-formed show can be tested against the current state of the configuration files.

The one or more offerings may include advertisements regarding the devices. The one or more offerings relating to the devices are received at the client. Then, the one or more offerings are presented at the client.

Abstract: A high level interface between a remote computer and local computer operator permits the remote computer to be controlled via a sequence of interactions. The remote computer may be monitored for display information which is expected, and also controlled in the event the expected information either is or is not obtained. Command language extensions are provided which extend and complement a basic scripting language. Scripts with embedded command language extensions may be executed through a remote interface, permitting remote testing, operation and evaluation. The development of the scripts, including embedded command language extensions, may be prepared through execution of commands at the local computer on a depiction of the GUI received from the remote computer, and subsequently saved as a script.

The accessed data can be displayed within the graphical user interface. Data within the configuration file can also be altered responsive to manipulation of the control.

A user interface associated with the workstation is generated on the graphical display via the thin client in accordance with an established data communication, user input is received via the thin client, and remote operation of the workstation is enabled via received user input.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that replace a separate reset pin in a bus with a reset command that guarantees a system recovery. The system comprises a host component circuitry residing on a first chip and a client component circuitry residing on a second, different chip. A bus connects the host component circuitry to the client component circuitry. The host component circuitry is configured to transfer an initial client value associated with a client component time period to the client component circuitry over the bus on a periodic time basis. The periodic time basis is dictated by a host component time period and the client component time period is greater than the host component time period. The client component circuitry is configured to initiate a reset procedure if the client component time period expires which indicates that the initial client value was not received at a next time on the periodic time basis dictated by the host component time period.

Abstract: A method and system for preventing a local display device from displaying data generated by a remote computing device is described. The system includes a local agent for facilitating a remote session; an operating system generating a request to enable a display device controlled by a display adapter; and a filter executing in a driver and in communication with the local agent, the filter intercepting the request generated by the operating system. The filter transmits the request to the local agent when a remote user is active or to the display adapter when the remote user is inactive. The filter will transmits a signal to the operating system that the display adapter has enabled the display device when the filter transmits the request to at least one of the local agent and the display adapter.

Abstract: A method and system for selecting an external user interface using spatial information is described. In one configuration the floor space of a mailroom is mapped using a two dimensional grid. At least one machine is located on the mapped grid and an associated control zone is defined for that particular machine. The machine includes a wireless transceiver for providing user interface access. An external portable processor with a wireless transceiver is provided with user interface logic for the machine. A user then moves the external portable processor into the control zone of the machine. An indoor positioning system is utilized to provide relative or absolute position information relating to the machine and the external processor. The system determines that the external processor is in the machine control zone and allows the external processor to function as a user interface for the machine.

A system may display a local graphical user interface (GUI) and a remote application view associated with a remote application running at a remote server. The system may provide a message directed to a remote server to launch a remote application at the remote server. The system may receive a configuration file from the remote server. The system may register a GUI event listed in the configuration file. The system may display a local GUI based on the configuration file. The system may receive display output data of the remote application running on the remote server. A remote control interface corresponding to the device selection request is received from the server. The selected remote device is controlled via the received remote control interface.
