Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for facilitating dynamic creation, customization, and execution of keyboard shortcuts in an on-demand services environment in a multi-tenant environment according to one embodiment. In one embodiment and by way of example, a method includes receiving, at a computing device, a request from a user to invoke a keyboard shortcut across a plurality of web domains at the computing device, where the plurality of web domains may comprise a primary web domain and one or more secondary web domains. The method may further include facilitating interaction between the primary web domain and the one or more secondary web domains, where facilitating interaction includes negotiating invocation of the shortcut within the one or more secondary web domains, and invoking the shortcut across the plurality of web domains.

Abstract: Illustrative embodiments disclose setting refresh rates for different portions of a shared screen in a sharing session. A processor sets an initial refresh rate for the sharing session. The processor selects a portion of the shared screen. The processor selects a refresh rate for the selected portion of the shared screen that is different from the initial refresh rate for the sharing session. The processor refreshes the selected portion based on the selected refresh rate and a portion not selected based on the initial refresh rate.

Abstract: Techniques are described for providing information about a current state that is modeled with multiple state attributes. In some situations, the providing includes receiving from first and second sources indications of an ability to supply values for, respectively, an indicated one of the state attributes and another of the state attributes. In such situations, the providing also includes, in response to receiving a request from a first client for a value of the indicated one attribute, determining that the first source is available to supply the value, obtaining the value from the first source, and supplying a value obtained from the first source to the first client.

Abstract: The present invention provides a search capability to allow a user to easily locate a preference control, file, folder, control, or other system resource or data item associated with a search result. In one embodiment, a user enters a search term (or a portion thereof) in a search field associated with one or more resource types that may be searched. The user may be presented with a pop-up menu containing a list of likely matches. The user selects the desired preference control from the pop-up menu, and the corresponding preference pane, or other container, containing the selected data item, control, or other resource is displayed. In one aspect, as the user enters the search term (or portion thereof), certain icons are highlighted. Specifically, those icons that represent containers containing matching data items (such as preference panes having controls that match the search term) are highlighted.

Abstract: A data processing system includes components for providing a pleasant user experience. Those components may include a family interaction engine that provides a family channel. The family interaction engine may provide for creation of a user group. The family channel may present content of interest to multiple users in the user group. When a user is detected near the data processing system, the family interaction engine may automatically present content of interest to that user. When used for presenting media content, the data processing system may also cause supplemental data to automatically be presented, wherein the supplemental data is relevant to the media content and to a predetermined interest of the user. The data processing system may also provide a ranked list of applications for potential activation by the user. The applications may be ordered based on the current context. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Various aspects of the subject technology relate to systems, methods, and machine-readable media for providing a customized background in a user interface based on a selection of a user login option. A system can be configured to identify at least a first user and a second user of a computing machine, display a first background for the first user in a user login interface comprising at least a first user login option for the first user and a second user login option for the second user, receive a selection of the second user login option for the second user, and replace, in response to the receiving of the selection, the first background for the first user in the user login interface with a second background for the second user.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing content for webpages are disclosed. The disclosed method includes providing a plurality of selections to set webpage personalization settings and receiving a user selection chosen from one of the plurality of selections. The plurality of selections is provided for a graphic user interface to be defined on a webpage. After receiving a request for a second webpage made by a user through a user device, the content for the second webpage is selected based on the received user selection. The content selection for the second webpage includes identifying two or more content modules for presenting on the second webpage and at least one of the identified content modules includes an associated content indicator. The selected content for the second webpage is then forwarded to the user device for display.

Abstract: In one embodiment a computing system comprises one or more processors, a display device coupled to the computing system, and a memory module communicatively connected to the one or more processors. The memory module comprises logic to receive, in a connection server, a service request from a user via a remote connection client, wherein the service request comprises at least one of a user credential, a connection client identifier, and a layout identifier, authenticate, in the connection server, the user credential and the connection client identifier, retrieve, in the connection server, a user profile associated with the user, a connection client layout associated with the layout identifier, connection data for at least one remote system, and a policy associated with the user profile, and transmit the user profile, the connection client layout, a remote system and the connection data for a remote system and a policy associated with the user profile from the connection server to the remote connection client.

Abstract: Methods and systems for improved integration of an overhead representation (e.g., a map) with a street view representation. A user interface with at least two regions is output for display to a user. One region includes an overhead representation of an area and an interactive control overlaid onto the overhead representation. Another region includes a street view perspective that has a point of view corresponding to a position and directional orientation of the interactive control. Information about a user input that adjusts the interactive control is received and the street view perspective is updated to track the control as it is adjusted. The field of view of the street view perspective may be reflected in the appearance of the interactive control. Additionally, the street view perspective may follow the location of a marker as it is moved around the overhead representation.

Abstract: The subject technology enables a user to create a point of interest based on a specified geolocation and allows one or more user to update the point of interest by posting messages. By way of example, the subject technology can provide an electronic map that enables the user to interactively choose the desired geolocation for the point of interest. Further, a user can create multiple points of interest for the same location, and have different audiences for each point of interest to the same location (e.g., a restaurant). This functionality provided by the subject technology also applies for multiple users creating points of interests to the same location. The subject technology designates a target audience for the point of interest. The target audience sets a scope of users that are permitted to view and post updates or messages to the point of interest.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided herein which accommodate the sharing of a user device among multiple users. In particular, when multiple users are detected as sharing a user device, the user interface of the user device can be automatically altered to facilitate the sharing of the user device. Data associated with each sharing user may also be presented according to each user's presentation preferences and to accommodate presentation needs of each user.

Abstract: A unified greeting system scans social media for content. The content can be any type of post to a social media site. If content is directed to a user of the unified greeting system and if the user is currently unavailable, the unified greeting system determines if the content requires a reply. If a reply is warranted, the unified greeting system determines the characteristics of the content to determine the type of reply. Then, the unified greeting system provides the reply, which can be an “out-of-office message.” The out-of-office message is the posted to the social media site to alert the poster that the person is currently unavailable.

Abstract: This disclosure provides various embodiments for searching one or more repositories hosting, storing, or maintaining a plurality of development artifacts. A search query for development artifacts is received through an interface of an integrated development environment, the search query identifying at least one search term. An index is used to identify a set of search results, the index identifying a plurality of development artifacts and including context data identifying, for each development artifact in the plurality of development artifacts, at least one attribute of the respective development artifact. The set of search results identify a subset of the plurality of development artifacts determined to potentially relate to the at least one search term. At least a portion of the set of search results are presented to a user, the listing including at least one development artifact in the subset of the plurality of development artifacts.

Abstract: A method, computer program product and system for displaying Web services. Web services may be displayed by generating a data model of a description of the Web service. A perspective visitor may be applied to the generated data model where the perspective visitor corresponds to a preselected domain. A perspective of the Web service associated with the preselected domain may be displayed in response to applying the perspective visitor. The perspective visitor may include a visitor pattern for encapsulating an operation to be performed on elements of the data model.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing an inter-service application, wherein connections of a network service are accessed to facilitate the transfer of an article to a list of participants. The article is transferred to and displayed on the desktop environment of a participant. In some embodiments, a timer is initiated on the first transfer, whereupon expiration of the timer, a termination sequence is performed. The termination sequence terminates transfer of the article to the participant list and further displays a graphical presentation to the current participant. Additional methods and apparatus are described.

Abstract: An application's users are divided into two groups: administrative users and end-users. Each type of region, produced on an application's screen, is assigned a class. Each actual occurrence, of a region type, is called an instance. An end-user invokes a user-added feature by indicating a screen location and inputting a unique signal. The classes, of the screen-region instances present at the indicated location, determine whether one or more rules are activated. The rules are written by an administrative user. If activated, a rule produces a URL in accordance with an administrative-user-defined template. A value stored in the instances present, at the location indicated when the unique signal occurred, are accessed in a template by including the name of the value as a parameter. Each parameter is substituted by the text-equivalent of its current value. The URL produced can be used to provide the information desired by the end-user.

Abstract: A user agent in a Web access device transmits an HTTP request for Web content to an origin server. The request contains a set of capabilities of the Web access device. A content authoring mechanism and adaptation determination service on the origin server process the request to determine what transformation is required to make the requested content fit the capabilities of the Web access device. The adaptation determination service invokes a niche transformation service that performs, in response to the content and the capabilities, the necessary transformation. The transformed Web content is transmitted to the user agent.

Abstract: Techniques for generating a page from a declarative specification are provided. An interface is provided that enables a user to declaratively specify a data source. Also, an interface is provided that allows a user to declaratively specify layout information for data from the data source. Each of the graphical representations depends on and visually indicates the properties associated with each of the plurality of user-customizable data. The provided graphical representations are rendered onto a position of the background image on the online environment.

Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a plurality of sets of flow definition data and screen definition data are stored in associated manner in a storage unit. A client device selects one of the sets of the flow definition data. Screen definition data corresponding to a process defined by the selected flow definition data is acquired from the storage unit and an editing screen is created from this screen definition data. The editing screen is sent to the client device and a predetermined operation with respect to a component of the editing screen is received from the client device. Screen definition data is created based on the changed editing screen in accordance with the predetermined operation, and the new screen definition data is stored in the storage unit so as to be associated with the flow definition data.

Abstract: A system and computer-implemented method for configuring a baseboard management controller (BMC) for use in monitoring operation of various computer system components is disclosed. The BMC is communicatively connected to a plurality of components by way of a plurality of slave addresses. Each of the plurality of components sense information related to operating and performance-related parameters associated with various operating conditions inherent in the operation of the computer system. The components provide this sensed information to the BMC, which analyzes the information to determine whether any events are occurring in the computer system. Such an event would be the temperature within the computer system chassis being too hot. Those components communicatively connected to the management module are detected and then identified. Based on these identifications, a configuration file is created and incorporated into the BMC firmware to effectuate the aforementioned configuration process.
