Abstract: A computer implemented technique for real-time exploration of a vessel network is disclosed. According to the technique, medical image data of a region of interest (ROI) is accessed and a medical image of the ROI is displayed based on the medical image data. Real-time exploration of vessels of a vessel network associated with the medical image are enabled based on received operator input, so as to provide for generating and displaying a vessel curve preview of a vessel on the medical image based on an operator initiated positioning of a cursor in the medical image, generating and displaying a highlighted vessel curve of a vessel on the medical image based on an operator initiated input, and generating and displaying one or more parameters associated with a vessel based on an operator initiated input. The real-time exploration may be performed with/without any prior vessel validation in the vessel network.

Abstract: The present invention provides a transition between two or more menu bars. The transition provided is both useful and aesthetic in that is enhances the aesthetic transition between the menu bars and serves to notify a user of such a transition. The transition is animated with one of a number of different animation techniques, such as rotation, scrolling, shading, virtual lighting, and the like. Three-dimensional graphics mapping may be provided to enhance the animation of the menu bar.

Abstract: A device includes a device body comprising a user input interface for receiving user inputs, a member slidably engaged with the device body and slidable from a first position to a second position, and at least one processor configured, under the control of machine-readable code to detect incidences of user inputs via the user input interface, to detect the sliding of the member from the first position to the second position, and to be responsive to detecting a composite user input comprising a sliding of the member from the first position to the second position while a user input is incident via the user input interface to cause a first operation to be performed.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a memory, and a processor coupled to the memory, configured to cause a display to display a menu, determine whether or not a menu item selected from among menu items included in the menu defines that the menu continues to be displayed when the menu item is selected, maintain a state in which the menu is displayed when the processor determines that the selected menu item defines that the menu continues to be displayed, and deletes the displayed menu when the processor determines that the selected menu item defines that the menu does not continue to be displayed.

Abstract: When a plurality of overlapping windows are displayed on a display screen, each window is displayed in a convenient state for a user operation, thereby reducing the load of the user operation. Upon detecting an object drag operation, an information processing apparatus displays the window of a predetermined application, which is displayed behind another window, as the topmost window. At this time, the window of the predetermined application reduces its size or changes the display position so as not to interfere with the other window displayed in front of it.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for preparing an image signal includes combining with a video signal having a number of objects of interest metadata identifying the objects as Area of Interest (AOI). Exemplary objects includes an object in a group of objects, such as a horse in a horse race, a sports object, such as a hockey puck, and so on. The object may be an objectionable, such as a representation of violence, sex or vulgar language. A user may provide an input to select an object of interest to alter the prominence of the selected object. A display system responsive to the image signal for showing images having AOI with altered prominence based on user input. A non-transitory computer readable medium containing logic code for carrying out the foregoing.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes an image display unit, an arrangement unit, and a marker display unit. The image display unit displays images. Upon acceptance of an instruction to rearrange an image selected from among the images in an arrangement area including one of the images, the arrangement unit rearranges the selected image at a rearrangement position in the arrangement area on the image display unit. The marker display unit displays a marker image between an image at the rearrangement position and an image arranged lower in rank than the image at the rearrangement position when the rearrangement position is lower than the position of the selected image, or displays the marker image between the image at the rearrangement position and an image arranged higher in rank than the image at the rearrangement position when the rearrangement position is higher than the position of the selected image.

Abstract: A computer-implemented virtual three dimensional object for organizing a plurality of files. The virtual object is presented on a display of a user computing device, and has a plurality of delineated surfaces. A user can manipulate the virtual object to select one of the surfaces for more prominent presentation on the display. The surface may have disposed thereon a graphical element, which the user can choose to perform a predetermined task associated with at least one of the plurality of files.

Abstract: A system for visualizing concepts within a collection of information analyzes a set of materials from at least one collection of information and defines an attribute space associated with the set of materials. The system then determines automatically similarity of members of the attribute space. The system then generates a graphical model of the members of the attribute space, where the generating includes generating a display of the members of the attribute space, each of the members having a respective display distance from other respective members of the attribute space reflective of the determined similarity.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to user interface control groups and provide a method, system and computer program product for rendering a set of user interface controls with dynamic content in a GUI. In one embodiment, the invention can include a data processing system including a set of user interface controls and control data including a set of cumulative selection metrics for each user interface control in the set. Each user interface control in the set, in turn, can include a label and an indicator of cumulative metrics for the user interface control. For instance, the set of user interface controls can include a set of radio buttons in a radio button control group. As another example, the set of user interface controls can include a set of check boxes in a check box control group.

Abstract: Embodiments of enhanced user interface elements in ambient light are described. Sensor inputs can be received from light sensors that detect ambient light proximate an integrated display of a portable device. A determination is made that the ambient light detracts from the visibility of user interface elements displayed in a user interface on the integrated display. Display properties of graphic components of a user interface element are interpolated through a light range from approximately complete darkness to full sunlight, and the graphic components of a user interface element can be modified based on interpolating the display properties within the light range to enhance the visibility of the user interface element for display in the ambient light.

Abstract: A mobile telecommunication terminal has a screen and a controller which provides a graphical user interface on the screen. The user interface is capable of simultaneous provision of a plurality of selectable icons or buttons representing respective functions of the mobile telecommunication terminal. The icons are presented in at least one list, and the user interface is configured to allow scrolling of the at least one list of selectable icons to allow presentation of different parts of the list on the screen. The graphical user interface is configured to automatically switch focus from one icon which was focused in a presented part of the linearly ordered list immediately prior to application of the scroll, to another icon in the list, wherein the another icon is shown as focused at the top of the now-presented part of the list on the screen after application of the scroll.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for manipulating folder and file icons on a screen of an electronic device. A folder icon representing a folder is displayed on a screen, in a first mode, at a first location on the screen. The folder may contain a plurality of individual files and the folder icon is configured to indicate the plurality of individual files. An activation event is detected comprising a movement from the first location on the screen to a second location on the screen. In response to detecting the activation event, the folder icon is displayed on the screen along with icons representing the individual files on the screen. The screen may display the icons of the individual files as fanning out from the folder icon and/or may display the icons of the individual files entirely outside of the folder icon.

Abstract: A VCI (visual context indicator) color is assigned deterministically and proactively at runtime to user data contexts, and is not stored in the database, spreadsheet, or other context. VCI colors can be high contrast friendly colors. The same color is assigned to a given context each time the application runs unless the context's identifying property has changed. Color assignments are not made by users or by the application's designer, but are done instead by hashing from a context's identifying property into a VCI color palette containing, e.g., eight to sixteen colors. Unlike text-selection coloring, VCI coloring is based on the user data context's identifying property. The color assignment visually indicates context by displaying the context's name in the VCI color, or by displaying a graphical element in the VCI color near the context name. VCI color assignment also shows the occurrence and result of changes in user data context.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for indicating unavailability of an uploaded video file that is being bitrate encoded. For instance, upon a determination that the uploaded video file is being bitrate encoded, a graphical user interface may be provided that includes an interface element indicating that the uploaded video file is unavailable for processing except for the bitrate encoding. The interface element may be an icon, a textual message, or any other suitable interface element that is capable of indicating that the uploaded video file that is being bitrate encoded is unavailable. When the bitrate encoding is completed, the interface element may be automatically updated to indicate that the uploaded video file is available for processing.

Abstract: An apparatus and method helps a user to determine parts of an electronic document that are of interest by allowing the user to define preferences for processing an electronic document, and by automatically highlighting one or more portions of the document according to the user preferences. Highlighting includes any way to enhance or alter the appearance of text, including bold, italics, underlining, change in font style, change in font size, change in color, change in background color, etc. The automatic highlighting of portions of the document attract the user's eyes to that portion of the document, which helps the user to discern whether or not the highlighted portion is relevant or interesting. The preferred embodiments also include a document generator that takes an input document and generates therefrom an output document that has one or more highlighted portions that are hard-coded into the document according to the user preferences.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to task bar management and provide a method, system and computer program product for graphical association of task bar entries. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for graphically associating a window with a task bar entry in a windowing operating system GUI can be provided. The method can include rendering multiple windows in a z-space sequence in a desktop of the windowing operating system graphical user interface and detecting a proximity event for an entry in a task bar for the windowing operating system graphical user interface. In response to detecting the proximity event, a corresponding one of the windows in the desktop can be highlighted without re-ordering the z-space sequence.

Abstract: An enhanced control, in which a guide line is defined relative to an object in a user interface, items aligned with the guide line are displayed without obscuring the object. A selected item is output based on receiving a selection of one of the displayed items.

Abstract: A method for rendering an e-mail item listing within a graphical user interface of an e-mail application on a display device is disclosed. The method includes identifying a field of the e-mail item listing having a displayed value that matches a pre-determined value, applying a color coding to the identified field so that the color coding is visually distinguishable from a background color of the e-mail item listing, receiving an input from an input device to select either an item of the e-mail item listing that includes a color coded field or an item related to the item that includes the color coded field, and applying a selection highlighting to the item that includes the color coded field so that the applied selection highlighting is visually distinguishable from the color coded field and the background color.

Abstract: Systems and methods record graphical marks input through a graphic user interface of a computerized device. The graphical marks comprise input other than keyboard button input. The recording includes recording different input times when the graphical marks are input and recording whether the graphic marks are uninterrupted graphic marks, using a processor of the computerized device. An uninterrupted graphical mark is one of the graphical marks that is input through a discrete and continuous user input action, and is made without the user pausing such discrete and continuous user input action. The systems and methods also display the graphical marks, and provide an erasure option on the graphic user interface. The erasure option allows the user to distinguish which of the graphical marks are erased based on the different input times and/or by distinguishing between erasure of different ones of the uninterrupted graphic marks.

The method includes accessing the web site using a browser with a browser module, where the web site comprises a number of web pages having information in a first format, and obtaining a profile corresponding to the web site, where the profile defines a manner to capture information in a first format from the web site. The method further includes capturing information, by the browser module, from at least one of the number of web pages based on the profile and sending the information captured by the browser module to a destination application, where the destination application is external to the browser and where the destination application is configured to use the information in a second format.

A plurality of extraction rules may be provided to the system, such as automatically generated and/or user created extraction rules. These extraction rules may include regular expressions. A plurality of event records may be displayed to the user, such that text in a field defined by an extraction rule is emphasized in the display of the event record. The same emphasis may be provided for text in overlapping fields, or the emphasis may be somewhat different for different fields. The user interface may enable a user to select a portion of text of an event record, such as by rolling-over or clicking on an emphasized part of the event record. By selecting the portion of the event record, the interface may display each extraction rule associated with the selected portion.

In one embodiment, a user enters a search term (or a portion thereof) in a search field associated with one or more resource types that may be searched. The user may be presented with a pop-up menu containing a list of likely matches. The user selects the desired preference control from the pop-up menu, and the corresponding preference pane, or other container, containing the selected data item, control, or other resource is displayed. In one aspect, as the user enters the search term (or portion thereof), certain icons are highlighted. Specifically, those icons that represent containers containing matching data items (such as preference panes having controls that match the search term) are highlighted.

The system may receive a selection of a softkey corresponding to one of the data scroll items, retrieve, in response to receiving the selection of the softkey, additional content corresponding to the particular topic associated with the one of the data scroll items, and present the additional content on the video display device.

A hierarchical chart is displayed with a primary entity being displayed in a center region of the display. One or more peers to the primary entity are displayed along a horizontal axis in comparison to the primary entity. One or more parents to the primary entity are displayed above the primary entity, and one or more children to the primary entity are displayed beneath the primary entity. A method for performing searches against a hierarchical chart is also described. Input is received for a name to search for in a hierarchical chart. A filter criteria selection is received. A search is performed against the hierarchical chart to find one or more matching records that match the name and the filter criteria. The one or more matching records are displayed, with at least a name and photo.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide an interface for simultaneously inputting multiple data parameters for a software application. Generally, a single user input made using the input interface results in multiple data parameters being received by the application. In one embodiment, the input interface may be defined with a plurality of dimensional nodes, where each dimensional node corresponds to a dimension of input that may be specified for the software application using the input interface.

Abstract: A property inspector with a partial functionality indicator is described that analyzes a selected group of objects within the design canvas of an ADE to determine the properties available to each of the objects and also which of the properties applies to the individual objects. The inspector interacts with a user by identifying which properties apply to only some of the selected objects. This interaction may take on any useful form of sensual identification data, such as visible, audible, or tactile indications.
