Abstract: Responsive to user interacting with a selectable object on a user interface, the selectable object is transitioned in an animated transitioning process into a dialog menu with selectable options. The animated transitioning process can include rotating a part of the selectable object (e.g., rotating a “+” symbol into an “x” symbol), changing a function of the part of the selectable object being rotated (e.g., from “Add” to “Close”), and changing the shape and/or size of the selectable object. As part of the animated transitioning process, dialog menu items may be displayed in the dialog menu. Once the animated transitioning process is complete, the user can interact with the dialog menu. Closing the dialog menu triggers an animated transitioning process that transitions the dialog menu to a selectable object.

Abstract: A tracking device tracks hand motion of a user. An output device, for example an augmented reality headset or a virtual reality headset, is configured for the output of virtual elements in augmented or virtual reality. A processor recognizes a first gesture when the user turns a palm of a first hand towards his face. The processor then displays a set of virtual elements above the palm of the first hand, the virtual elements being arranged above each other like a card deck, using the output device. In other words, the virtual elements are visualized as cards on the palm of the first hand. In most embodiments, the virtual elements are attached to at least one of the user's hands. The method provides a user interface for hand interaction with virtual elements, for example for viewing a content gallery or data exploration.

Abstract: A device may extract menu information associated with a first application. The menu information may identify hierarchical menu items corresponding to at least two levels of a menu hierarchy associated with a first menu of the first application. The device may receive configuration information that controls a manner in which the hierarchical menu items are to be provided for display. The device may execute the first application to cause first information, associated with the first application, to be provided for display. The device may execute a second application that provides the hierarchical menu items for display. The second application may be different from the first application. The device may provide the hierarchical menu items for display concurrently, via a second menu overlaid on the first information associated with the first application, based on the configuration information and further based on executing the second application.

Abstract: Methods and devices for providing a user-interface are disclosed. In one aspect, a head-mounted-device system includes a processor data storage comprising user-interface logic executable by the at least one processor to receive data corresponding to first position of a head-mounted display (HMD) and responsively cause the HMD to display a user-interface comprising a view region, at least one content region located above the view region, and a history region located below the view region. The user-interface logic is further executable to receive data corresponding to an left or right movement of the HMD and responsively cause the HMD to move the field of view such that the at least one content region becomes more visible, for example, scrolling an item in a user interface. The scrolling may have a non-linear relationship with the head movement speed.

Abstract: Image analysis systems components, devices, and methods are provided for viewing the image data stack in less time with less effort and less repetitive motions. The navigation device, for example, can include: (i) an indexing state selector for independently selecting a desired subset within the independently viewable subsets, the desired subset indexed for an efficient image selection with a single click of the indexing state selector; and, (ii) a scrolling state selector for scrolling through the desired subsest as a data series of the discrete images. And, a graphical user interface can be operably connected to the processor for viewing the plurality of sets of discrete sets of images. The systems, components, devices, and methods provided are solutions to the problem of providing rapid, efficient process for viewing a data-stack of images by implementing, for example, “point-free” steps and less repetitive motions.

Abstract: Techniques for navigating through a user interface with a force-sensitive touch sensor are described. In some implementations, the force-sensitive touch sensor is also a display that presents the user interface. Touches on the force-sensitive touch sensor may be interpreted as indicating a vector direction based on the location of the touch and a vector magnitude based on the force of the touch. For instance, when a user navigates through a collection of photographs on a device having a force-sensitive touch sensor, the vector direction may determine if the user is scrolling forwards or backwards through the photographs and the vector magnitude may determine how rapidly the scrolling occurs. The user may also navigate through a hierarchy of folders and files using touch and force. Selection of a folder and application of force exceeding a threshold may result in display of the contents of a most commonly accessed subfolder or file.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is performed at a multifunction device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface. The method includes detecting multiple input gestures by a user, beginning with an initial input gesture. For each input gesture after the initial input gesture, the method scrolls information on the display at a respective scrolling speed. The respective scrolling speed is determined based on the respective input gesture movement speed in the input gesture and a movement multiplier. The method determines whether the respective input gesture meets one or more swipe gesture criteria, and determines whether the respective input gesture meets one or more successive gesture criteria. When the input gesture meets the one or more swipe gesture criteria and the one or more successive gesture criteria, the method updates the movement multiplier in accordance with one or more movement multiplier adjustment criteria.
