Abstract: A system and method for assuring the privacy of a computer application includes generating a user interface with a privacy feature coupled with a computer application. Through the user interface, the user is able to activate the privacy feature while interacting with the computer application. The computer application displays application-based screen elements against a backdrop. Once activated, the privacy feature presents a visual display hiding the application-based screen elements in the application from view without closing or logging out of the application.

The image panel may include an interest region selection component for delineating a region within the field of view. Abstract: The present technology relates to methods, systems and computer program products for displaying search completion results. A chalkboard interface having search completion results can be displayed in response to inputs entered in a search field of a webpage. One or more search completion options, such as predicted search queries, can be generated based at least on the inputs. The search completion options and corresponding search results can be displayed in the chalkboard interface. If further inputs are entered in the search field, the search completion options are modified, resulting in a dynamic chalkboard interface that displays search completion options with corresponding search results that change with each keystroke or input inputted at the search field. The chalkboard interface can be superimposed over the webpage, except for the search field, so that as inputs are entered in the search field, the search completion options and search results are accordingly modified.

Abstract: The display of images, such as panoramic images, in a limited display space can be aided through the use of motion-based control, whereby a user can rotate and/or translate a computing device in order to view different portions of the image, including translating or zooming within the image. Sensors can be used to determine the motion for adjusting the display. The same or other sensors can also assist a user in capturing such an image. For example, a compass can determine the relative orientation of the device and a gyroscope can determine rotation of the device, to determine an appropriate path of motion for the capture and any deviation from that path. The user can be provided with information enabling the user to follow the path with an appropriate device orientation.

Abstract: A method is provided for causing a display of at least one content item and for enabling movement of the at least one content item. The method also causes a portion of the at least one content item to be highlighted relative to another portion of the at least one content item while the at least one content item is being moved. Abstract: Techniques are described for analyzing a video for memorability, identifying content features of the video that are likely to be memorable, and scoring specific content features within the video for memorability. The techniques can be optionally applied to selected features in the video, thus improving the memorability of the selected features. The features may be organic features of the originally captured video or add-in features provided using an editing tool. The memorability of video features, text features, or both can be improved by analyzing the effects of applying different styles or edits (e.g., sepia tone, image sharpen, image blur, annotation, addition of object) to the content features or to the video in general. Recommendations can then be provided regarding memorability score caused by application of the image styles to the video features.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for capturing audio containing speech at an endpoint device, converting the audio into corresponding text, identifying one or more keywords from the corresponding text and determining geolocation information associated with the endpoint device. Both the one or more keywords and the geolocation information are supplied as input to a geo-targeting advertisement service so as to cause the geo-targeting advertisement service to identify relevant content based on both the geolocation information and the one or more keywords. The geo-targeting advertisement service provides one or more advertisements to an endpoint device for display, wherein the advertisements are based on the one or more keywords and the geolocation information.

The system can include integrated view logic executing in a computing device and an attention manager user interface generated by program code of the integrated view logic. The user interface can include a grid of quadrants. Each quadrant can correspond to a unique combination of importance and urgency. The quadrant further can include representations of underlying information objects from multiple different sources of information objects. Correspondingly, each information object can include a respective importance and urgency consistent with a corresponding one of the quadrants.

Abstract: In order to display a set of media items in a visually pleasing manner, the relationship between the set of media items and a plurality of predefined media arrangements may be determined. A score corresponding to the set of media items may be compared to a score corresponding to each of the predefined media arrangements. The media item score and the media arrangement scores may be based on properties of the media items and properties of the media arrangements, respectively. The media arrangement that is most closely related to the set of media items may be identified based on the score comparison and the media items may be displayed in the identified media arrangement.

Abstract: An image processing system in which a client apparatus transmits RAW image data to a server apparatus, receives a result developed by the server apparatus, and displays onto a display area. The client apparatus reduces the RAW image data to a size suitable to display, transmits to the server apparatus, and requests a development processing. The client apparatus also starts a transmission processing of original RAW image data to the server apparatus. While making adjustment of the development processing to reduced RAW image data, the client apparatus and the server apparatus execute a transmission and reception processing of the original RAW image data in parallel therewith. In one aspect, a GUI is generated that presents a “histogram view” of digital media items of a digital media source. The histogram view associates visual representations of the digital media items with a media attribute, such as associating songs with a recording artist who recorded the songs. In another aspect, a GUI is generated that presents a “stack view” including stacks of visual representations of digital media items that are associated with a media attribute, such as a playlist or artist. The stacks of visual representations can be scrubbed by a user (e.g., using a touch gesture) to select digital media items in the stack for playback.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a graphical user interface involve, for example, defining, using a processor coupled to memory, a threshold distance between windows on a display screen at which a mutual attraction between the windows is activated to draw the windows together as components of a picture of windows. Also using the processor, all windows of a same functional type that are components of the picture of windows are resized simultaneously without affecting the size of windows of other functional types that are also components of the picture of windows. Abstract: This invention is directed to defining quick groups for easily associating keywords with an object (e.g., a media objection) accessible using an electronic device. The user of an electronic device may define several keywords that identify attributes of an object accessible using the electronic device. The user may associate keywords with an object to link the attribute of the keyword with the object (e.g., associate a keyword entitled “vacation” to vacation pictures). The user may assign a shortcut key to each of a subset of the keywords, referred to as quick groups, by which the user may rapidly associate the keyword to an object. In some embodiments, the electronic device may select the shortcut key of a quick group from the letters of the quick group to help the user remember the shortcut key.

The probability of choosing a selected candidate thumbnail with a success ranking higher than all other selected thumbnails as an optimum thumbnail for presentation to a user is based, at least in part, on the ratio of the success ranking of the selected candidate thumbnail with the highest success ranking to the sum of the success rankings of all of the selected candidate thumbnails. The display logic selects and displays a single screen view of the multiple screen views on the screen overlaid with a transparent miniature view map of the multiple screen views with the view map highlighting the specific screen view being displayed. Touch-selecting a specific screen view from the view map brings up that view for display from the storage memory, with an updated view map, enabling a user to simultaneously see a view of the digital content and the size of the content.
