Control Lever Movable Through Plural Planes Patents (Class 74/473.33)
  • Patent number: 10634242
Abstract: A vehicular shifter device includes: an operation member; a body portion which supports the operation member to be shiftable from a home position in a predetermined direction, and which causes the operation member after a shift operation to automatically return to the home position; and a control means which controls the range of a transmission on the basis of a shift operation of the operation member. The control means sets the range to a neutral range when the operation member is shifted from the home position in the predetermined direction. The control means switches the range from the neutral range to a travel range when the operation member is shifted from the home position in the predetermined direction again after the shift operation.

Abstract: A shift assembly for a manual transmission includes a decoupled inertial mass. The decoupled mass is active only to assist and complete the shift (longitudinal shift lever movement) and is inactive during selection (lateral shift lever motion). A shift tower includes a stub shaft which is translated axially by a first shift cable through a first linkage. This motion corresponds to lateral motion of the shift lever (selection). A radial arm is rotated by a second shift cable through a second linkage. This motion corresponds to longitudinal motion (gear engagement) of the shift lever. A mass of dense material is mounted on the arm which is received about the stub shaft and connected thereto by a member in a slot that rotationally couples the arm and mass to the stub shaft but allows unrestricted (uncoupled) axial motion between the arm (and mass) and the stub shaft.

Abstract: An electronic selector lever module for generating gear shifting signals for an automatic transmission of a vehicle. The swivel motion of the gear selector lever, within a main shifting path, is transformed into rotational motion for an angle sensor. The sensor is positioned on a printed circuit board and is actuated by a rotor. To guide the rotor relative to the angle sensor, the rotor either surrounds a rounded part of the printed circuit board or surrounds a rotor guidance which is mounted on the printed circuit board. The mechanical linking point is a short sleeve at a slider, which both belong to the rotor, needed for the shifting path motion, and which also drive the tilting lever for the transverse motion. The slider can be moved, relative to the rotor, along rails, either radially and directly at the rotor, or tangentially to the pivot point of the rotor.

Abstract: In a shift lever device, a first-link is held at a permitting-position due to a release button being operated. Therefore, when a shift lever is operated from a “P” shift position, when a second-link is pushed toward a vehicle right side by the shift lever, even if a magnet is not energized, the second-link is rotated in a state where sliding of the first-link toward a vehicle right is impeded. Operation of the shift lever from the “P” shift position is thereby forcibly permitted. Here, the first-link is disposed at the permitting-position that is an initial-position, and, due to the release button being operated, the first-link is held at the permitting-position.
