Patent number: 4070918Abstract: A shuttleless loom including a pair of lance bands operative to insert weft threads through a shed of warp threads is constructed with a driving crankshaft which operates to synchronously drive both the lance bands and the reciprocating sley of the loom. A sector gear is mounted upon the sley for reciprocal pivotal movement whereby the lance bands are driven through a gear train meshing with the sector gear. The sector gear is driven through a connecting rod mounted eccentrically upon a drive wheel which is driven by the crankshaft. Because of the eccentric mounting of the connecting rod upon the crankshaft, the reciprocating pivotal motion of the sector gear imparts increased acceleration to the lance bands midway through their travel and a decreased acceleration at the ends of the lance band stroke.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1975Date of Patent: January 31, 1978Assignee: Ingeniera Aplicada, S.A. It is capable of cleaning out dirt materials from fabrics and dinner wares. It comprises a cylindrical enclosure including roller means as a base for portability, an inner cylinder acting as a washing chamber or tub where materials to be washed are deposited, an agitator peripherally disposed inside the tub which oscillates by means of a linkage connected to a worm and wormgear means powered preferably by an electric motor installed underneath. As the agitator rotatively oscillates the water and soap solution is propelled towards the center at a certain speed and direction opposite that of the materials to be washed thereby achieving a very efficient washing process.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 1975Date of Patent: March 16, 1976Inventor: Jesus R. Patent number: 3942385Abstract: An actuating mechanism for imparting oscillatory motion to an output shaft journalled for pivotal movement about a fixed pivot axis. The actuating mechanism is adapted to be driven by a reversible motor means and comprises a power shaft carrying a drive worm, a worm gear in mesh with the drive worm and coupled to a drive shaft, and an articulated crank and link means coupling the drive shaft to the output shaft for translating rotation of the drive shaft into oscillation of the output shaft through an arc of predetermined angular size. The drive shaft is journalled in a slide means. A guide means supports the slide means for shiftable movement in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the power shaft between first and second positions, the slide means being shiftable from one position to the other upon the direction of rotation of the motor being reversed.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1974Date of Patent: March 9, 1976Assignee: Ford Motor CompanyInventor: Paul A.
