Abstract: A mold-pressing device including a seat body formed with a horizontal fissure at one end and a vertical chamber communicated with the fissure. A mold block is disposed in the chamber. One face of the mold block is disposed with a solid die, while the other face of the mold block is disposed with a channel passing through the mold block. • Patent number: 5361664
Abstract: A stoma wafer cutting apparatus with a base having an upwardly-extending projection over which a stoma wafer can be assembled, and a cutting unit including a circular cutting knife extending from its lower face for engagement with the stoma pad to effect the cutting of an enlarged hole therein and the upper end of the upstanding projection having a slot extending inwardly from its side face to the diameter of the projection. A hand-operating lever provided with a cross pin extending between depending spaced eccentric portions and adapted to enter the side slot of the projection on being assembled thereover for engagement of its rounded eccentric faces with the top surface of the cutting element. Upon application of pressure upon the lever, an enlarged hole will be cut in the stoma pad to render a hole suitable for receiving the user's particularly-sized stoma tube.

  • Patent number: 5255587
Abstract: The sheet cutting die press includes a handle fixed to a cylindrical shaft, the longitudinal axes of which is off-set from the longitudinal axes of stub axles at either end of the shaft. Thus, as the handle is moved causing the shaft to rotate, it applies pressure through a pair of bearings to a pair of pillow blocks which in turn rests on the top surface of a top platen. A cover over the cylindrical shaft is fixed to the pillow blocks so that, as the handle is moved to a position to retract the platen, the pillow blocks are lifted by the cover.

  • Patent number: 5247863
Abstract: A hole puncher formed as one piece of plastic molded into base, handle and receptacle portions hinged together by flexible, foldable joints. The one-piece plastic construction can be assembled quickly as a hole puncher by folding the portions into predetermined positions. A feature of the hole puncher is the use of a plastic locking strap connecting the handle and the base, for maintaining the handle folded over the base. Another feature is the use of translucent plastic material, enabling the user to visually check the desired alignment of pins with the paper to be punched, to assure proper location of the punched holes. The design provides an attractive, affordable and easily assembled design without sacrificing strength and durability.

  • Patent number: 5243887
Abstract: A punching tool for piercing a hole through the substantially parallel, spaced apart plates of a data storage disk casing uses a die which supports one of the plates and an elongated punch which pierces through the plates in succession. The disk is placed on a tray on the punch's base, and a drive lever is pushed downward to drive the punch through the casing plates. The punch is guided so that it moves along its axis of elongation and has a cutting surface at its end with a point to begin the hole in each of the plates and a trailing edge spaced apart from the point which completes the hole. The distance between the point and the trailing edge is great enough to allow the point to begin a hole in a succeeding plate before the trailing edge completes the hole in the previous plate.

  • Patent number: 5178049
Abstract: A punching device is provided that includes a frame disposed on a base and a pair of wall members, a lever having one end pivotally coupled between the wall members, a block slidably retained between the wall members by two plates and having an upper end linked to the lever a recess formed in the block, and a rod having an upper end fixed to the block and including a bore in communication with the recess of the block. The rod is movable downwardly by the lever to punch holes in paper, and provision is made for the residual of the paper to move through the bore of the rod, through the recess of the block, and into an access with a removable cover. A downwardly biased foot presses against the sheet materials on the base before the rod punches through the sheet materials. The base includes two interconnected support racks which are simultaneously adjustable.

  • Patent number: 5172622
Abstract: A quick change die cutter is provided for permitting interchangeable die elements to be readily inserted and removed without the need for tools. A receiver is provided for carrying the die element which presents a cutting edge thereon, and a lever serves to shift the die element into engagement with the web of sheet material to be cut thereby. A pad of relatively soft material such as synthetic resin is positioned to engage the cutting edge as it passes through and cuts the web, thereby eliminating set-up time necessary to prevent the cutting edge of the die from damage due to excessive vertical travel. The receiver preferably includes a pair of opposed side walls for receiving the die element in the space therebetween, at least one of the side walls including a locking member for inhibiting shifting of the die along the respective side walls and out of alignment with the web to be cut.

  • Patent number: 5125307
Abstract: A cropping mechanism for a surface mount machine is disclosed which cuts the feed tape supplying electronic components. The displacement of an actuator in one direction between end positions cycles the cropping blade from a start location to the cutting location and back to the start location. The actuator has a cam which rides in selectively configured slots defined in opposed, pivotally supported levers which support a pin received by the cutting element and controlling its displacement.

  • Patent number: 5117719
Abstract: A tape printer for making adhesive labels includes a tape supply, a printer for reverse printing on the tape and a double-sided adhesive film, one side of which is laminated to the printed tape and the other side of which carries a release paper. The printer has a cutter for cutting the tape from the continuous supply tape and includes a trimmer for rounding the corners of the tape to reduce defoliation of the tape from the surface to which it is applied. The cutting blade of the trimmer has a central straight section, contiguous arcuate sections at each end of the central straight section and auxiliary straight cutting edges contiguous with the arcuate sections and extending at an obtuse angle to the central straight section. The cutting blade is mounted in an integrally molded support unit which includes guide members for guiding the width of tape to be trimmed by the cutting blade.

  • Patent number: 4991480
Abstract: Two shearing blades disposed along two lines which intersect each other are carried on the bottom edges of two adjacent walls of a four-sided ram structure. The ram is supported at four points whereby to provide greater stability. The workpiece is carried on the aligned top surfaces of a fixed bed and a movable carriage. The movable carriage is movable in a first direction. Finger grippers, joined by a connecting bar, are movable in slots along the top surface of the movable carriage in a second direction. Thus, the workpiece is moved in the first direction by movement of the movable carriage and in the second direction by movement of the finger grippers. The workpiece may be precisely and accurately positioned under the shearing blades making use of sensors in each of the finger grippers and a lateral sensors in each of the finger grippers and a lateral sensor at the end of the movable carriage.

  • Patent number: 4989488
Abstract: The drive mechanism for the oscillating tool has a transmission device comprising a band, rope or the like oscillating longitudinally under tension. This transmission device is driven by a connecting rod driven by an eccentric pin which is drivable with an electric motor. To reduce manufacturing expenses and lengthen service life as well as provide a higher operating performance, the connecting rod is pivotally connected to rocker member, with whose free end the transmission device, e.g. a band, extending transverse to it, is connected. • Patent number: 4987811
Abstract: A pair of guide bores in an electric punch support a pair of punching blocks aligned with, and movable into, respective punching holes in a main frame. Two operation arms are pivoted on respective holders and each is connected to one punching block to impart vertical motion thereto. Each operation arm includes a longitudinal guide groove therein. A pair of operation pins are driven in circular paths within the guide grooves to reciprocate the operation arms about their pivots. In the quiescent condition, the one of the guide pins lies at the end of its guide groove, whereas the other guide pin lies about in the middle of its guide groove. A guide concavity at the end of the guide grooves accepts its respective operation pin, whereby the associated operation arm rests at a different rotational position than it would if the guide concavity were omitted. A spring provides a restoring force on the punching block associated with the guide concavity.
