  • Patent number: 7255031
Abstract: A vertical curtain cutter includes at least a base and a mold cutting device fixed on the base, which consists of a clamper, a knife and a motor. The clamper has a stationary clamp block and a movable clamp block, and the stationary clamp block has a flat clamp surface at one side and a curved clamp surface at other side. As a result, the movable clamp block and the stationary clamp block can clamp between them the rolled curtain cloth or folded-up curtain cloth. The cloth is vertically inserted by reversing the flat surface and the curved surface of the stationary clamp block. The motor can drive the knife to shift towards the curtain cloth and cut it, so that the cutter is able to cut either rolled or folded-up curtain cloth into multiple curtain pieces.

  • Patent number: 7152515
Abstract: Cutter suitable for artificial flower stems. Typically, plastic coated wire stems are cut with hand cutters to various lengths in preparing artificial floral arrangements. The invention requires far less physical effort by the operator than is required when using conventional wire cutters. In the preferred use of the preferred embodiment of the invention, an uncut stem is inserted crosswise through two elongated holes in the guard housing. When the cutter jaws open, the stem is pushed into the open jaws and is cut to a desired length from the flower end when the jaws close. In the preferred embodiment of the invention a gear reduction motor drives an arm and cam roller assembly. That cam roller forces the top handle of the cutter downward causing the jaws to close. As the cycle continues, the cam roller raises and a spring causes the jaws to open.

  • Patent number: 6684743
Abstract: A gear drive system for a printer designed to print upon a continuous roll of paper and having a blade used to cut off printed portions of paper from the paper roll is implemented. The gear drive system consists of a drive shaft 330, a slip clutch 401, a clutch gear 116, a drive gear 110, and a staggered gear 112 which controls the paper cutter blade 106. During printing, clutch 401 allows the drive shaft 330 shaft to slip relative to the clutch gear 116. When printing stops, clutch 401 locks clutch gear 116 which is engaged with the first portion of staggered gear 112 and causes staggered gear 112 to rotate until the second portion of staggered gear 112 engages the drive gear 110. Staggered gear 112 is then driven by the drive gear 110. A cutter blade is controlled by staggered gear 112, with the blade cutting off the paper as the drive gear 110 is in reverse rotation.

Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a window covering including a head rail, a bottom rail and slats includes a base having a substantially flat cutting surface, and a frame overlying the cutting surface. The base includes a clamping assembly for securing the window covering atop the cutting surface with the bottom rail, slats and top rail in a side-by-side arrangement over the cutting surface. The apparatus includes a cutting assembly having a cutting blade with a cutting edge for sliding along a movement axis having a first component of movement extending in a direction substantially parallel to the cutting surface and a second component of movement extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the cutting surface. A driver is connected with the cutting assembly for moving the cutting blade toward the cutting surface, wherein the cutting edge simultaneously cuts through the bottom rail, the slats and the head rail.

Abstract: A clearance between an upper knife and a lower knife of a slitter is set at 30 to 100 &mgr;m, and the slitter cuts a sensitized printing plate. In the sensitized printing plate cut by the slitter, there is a shear droop which is 20 to 30 &mgr;m high at the cut part, and a burr which is less than 50 &mgr;m high. If the maximum height of a surface roughness of a cut surface of the sensitized printing plate is 1.2 &mgr;m to 12 &mgr;m on the average, a hydrophilic property of the cut part improves and the stain of a frame can be decreased.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for cutting carpet pile are disclosed as including a clipper having a driver, a reciprocating blade and a fixed blade. The fixed blade and the reciprocating blade define an area there between. The fixed blade has a bore passing through the blade and into the area. A fluid supply, connected to the bore, supplies fluid through the fixed blade and into the area. A manifold, attached to the fixed blade, can be used to pass fluid through the fixed blade into the chamber. In such an embodiment, the manifold includes a passage communicating with the bore and the fluid supply. In another embodiment, an orientation mechanism is used to orient the carpet clipping head. In this embodiment, the orientation mechanism includes a base bracket and a pivot bracket. The pivot bracket is pivotally attached to the base bracket at a pivot point. The carpet clipping head is attached to the pivot bracket so that movement of the pivot bracket causes the carpet clipping head to pivot about the lead prong.
