    Abstract: A blade and assembly provides for a blade that has a front beveled cutting edge and at least two recesses defined within the back, or non-cutting edge, of the blade. A substantially cylindrical cavity or bore extends inwardly into the blade from each recess, the bores being defined in planes that are parallel to the top and bottom surfaces of the blade. A plurality of “T-shaped” legs is provided, each leg having a cross bar or “foot” that is secured at one end of a rod. In the preferred embodiment, three such legs are used, although the present invention is not limited to that number. The rod of each leg is used for insertion into a blade bore. Means for fixing the position of the rod within the blade bore is also provided. This allows the blade to be properly positioned within the holder thereby compensating for blade wear.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a composite blade module and cutting means using the same. The composite blade module comprises a blade and at least one elastic layer. The elastic layers are adhered to a part of cutting edge and/or a back of the blade selectively. The composite blade module is used by the cutting means to cut an object to be cut. The elastic layers may be used as a shock absorber to absorb the collision force acting on the blade, thus reducing the probability of breaking blade, during the cutting process. Furthermore, if the blade is broken unfortunately, the broken blade is still adhered to the elastic layers, in such a way that the broken blade is prevented from either being drawn into the cutting means and then damaging the means, or being ejected and then endangering the operator, leading to safety guarantee during cutting.

    Abstract: A kerf lock is provided for the retention of die cutting dies in die slots of a retaining board. A retaining system is also provided and includes a plurality of lock slots oriented substantially perpendicularly to a direction of insertion of a die cutting die. The lock slots have open faces to permit communication with the die slots. When the kerf lock is located within a lock slot it extends into the die slot until a die is inserted into the die slot. Upon initial insertion of a die into the die slot, the kerf lock compresses laterally. Once the die is completely inserted, the kerf lock exerts a normal force against the die in the direction of the die slot wall opposite the open face. An inserted die cutting die can thus be securely held within the die slot.
