Having Relative Adjustment Between Guide Surfaces Patents (Class 83/763)
  • Patent number: 8272631
Abstract: The melon-holder includes an elongated base having a pair of jaws each pivotal about a separate side of the base. The jaws are pivotal from a melon-engaging position to a melon-releasing position. The jaws have a number of lateral spaces which are spaced apart from one another and which are adapted to receive a knife for cutting the melon into lateral slices while the jaws are in the melon-engaging position.

  • Patent number: 8191453
Abstract: A specimen slicing guide for use in slicing a biopsy specimen taken from a human patient or an animal patient includes a base extending in a longitudinal direction. A plurality of needles extends substantially perpendicularly to the base and the needles are spaced along the longitudinal direction of the base. Two specimen slicing guides are coupled via at least one link, which is adapted to allow an adjustable spacing of the two specimen slicing guides in a parallel relationship. A method of cutting a biopsy specimen includes fixing the biopsy specimen relative to a support surface using the needles of two, parallel-arranged specimen slicing guides, inserting a cutting tool between corresponding needle gap pairs and then downwardly moving the cutting tool under guidance of adjacent needles.

  • Patent number: 8127646
Abstract: A base having a substantially planar surface, a plurality of upright fingers, and a blade guide that can be adjustably positioned along the planar surface. The blade guide can be biased toward the upright fingers to secure a section of donor bone between the blade guide and the upright fingers. Aligned openings in the blade guide and planar surface, as well as the gaps between the upright fingers, permit precision cutting of a donor bone section to prepare a graft having a desired size and/or configuration.

  • Patent number: 5279198
Abstract: An adjustable miter box for use with a miter saw having a blade includes a base having a top, a front face, a rear face, a first side and a second side, a generally vertically oriented pivot post located adjacent the rear face and being disposed in an offset location closer to the first side than to the second side, a saw guide including a vertical throughbore for matingly engaging the pivot post and defining a slot for slidingly and clampingly accommodating the blade of the miter saw, angular locking devices on the base for releasably fixing the angular position of the saw guide relative to the base, and workpiece support apparatus secured to the base for supporting and securing a workpiece to be cut by the saw while the saw is slidably engaged in the slot.

  • Patent number: 5062339
Abstract: A saw guide apparatus includes a planar support base mounting a first and second track member thereon. Each track member includes an L-shaped leg mounted at a rearward end thereof to a mounting block that is coextensive with the support base rear edge. Each track member includes a respective first and second L-shaped guide to define a respective U-shaped track between the guide and a horizontal leg of each track member to receive and capture a saw guide plate of an associated saw therewithin. The horizontal legs extend forwardly a distance substantially equal to a predetermined length between a forward and rear edge of the support base and are pivotally mounted within arcuate slots directed through the base and are selectively locked in position to accommodate a particular orientation of the track members.

  • Patent number: 4350066
Abstract: Precision cutting of cove molding in all commercial sizes and designs is obtained by an apparatus which includes a flat bed plate having a straight saw blade slot formed therethrough and a power saw guideway along the slot. A rest for cove molding extending away from one side of the saw blade slot at an angle of 45 degrees thereto includes opposite side flat surfaces which rise from the top of the bed plate at angles of 45 degrees to the bed plate, the rest having a flat bottom surface to engage the bed plate. As an attachment to existing saw table equipment, the cove molding rest may have a bottom recess including an end stop surface to fit over a protractor guide of the existing equipment. All customary angle cuts of the cove molding are greatly facilitated.

  • Patent number: 4299152
Abstract: A mitre box has a saw guide subassembly rotatably supported on a vertical post and a multiplicity of indents spaced about a portion of its periphery. A wedge member is pivoted on the base member below the saw guide subassembly and is biased to engage an edge portion in one of the indents thereof to prevent its rotation. Positioning means is provided to orient the engagement edge portion of the wedge member in axial alignment with the post to ensure accurate and stable positioning of the subassembly in a predetermined rotated position about the post. The saw guide subassembly may include a fixedly supported saw guide element and a second saw guide element which is carried on the fixed guide element and pivotable relative thereto about a pivot point adjacent the upper edge of the guide elements to equalize the pressure exerted by the ends of the saw guide subassembly on the saw received therebetween.
