Publication number: 20080115649Abstract: This invention patent refers to processes and appliance for slicing food, stacking and protecting obtained slices from exposure to the environment, through a continued flexible separator, with foldable flaps, in contact with side, front and rear surfaces of referred slices. There available on the consumer market, at supermarkets and bakeries, manually sliced and stacked cheeses, susceptible to oxidation and contamination. Conditioning of these products in consumer's refrigerator does not provide protection for all contact surfaces of slices, which, often, dry up, become moldy and stick to each other. The proposal of this invention is to protect all contact surfaces of food slices—even after their consumption has already started—when closing entrance doors to a possible contamination, especially for protein food with high moisture content, such as cheeses and sausages which are excellent means of microbial culture.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2006Publication date: May 22, 2008Inventor: Ovidio Carneiro Filho

Patent number: 6176017Abstract: The electric kitchen knife has blades (2) connected to the front end of a main housing (5), and the blades (2) move in reciprocal motion to cut food. The main housing (5) has a stand leg (6) projecting from the bottom surface positioned away from the center of gravity towards the blade end. The stand leg (6) maintains the main housing (5) in an upright standing position. Held by the stand leg (6) in an upright standing position on a table (7), the front end of the main housing (5) is raised separating the blades (2) from the table (7).Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1998Date of Patent: January 23, 2001Assignee: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Katsunori Sato, Shigehiro Uemura

Patent number: 6152009Abstract: An architectural millwork jig for the cutting of at least one cope in a strip of architectural millwork such as crown molding. The jig includes a base for stabilizing the millwork and further includes a table with a through opening positionable over the end face to be cut. A powered jig saw rides on the table about the opening, where the powered jig saw includes a foot for riding on the table and a blade reciprocating between two toes of the foot, and where the blade makes the cut in the end face of the millwork. The table is swingable about at least the x and y axes so as to provide a proper alignment for the surface of the table on which the foot of the powered jig saw rides. Swinging of the table about one axis permits one jig to be used for right hand and left hand copes and further permits the table to be adjusted to the exact angle of the right hand cope or to the exact angle of the left hand cope. Swinging about this one axis further permits the table to be swung into position to cope flat miters.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1998Date of Patent: November 28, 2000Inventors: Daniel D. Patent number: 6131499Abstract: A carpenter's saw bench is composed of a base and a rotary platform pivoted to the bottom of the base. The rotary platform is provided at both ends thereof with a guide rod set which is in turn provided with a handsaw guide member. The handsaw guide member is provided in the top thereof with a saw bow guide slot for receiving a saw bow of a handsaw, and in the bottom thereof with a saw blade receiving slot for receiving a saw blade of the handsaw. The handsaw guide member is provided in the top thereof with an indentation in communication with the saw bow guide slot, and in the bottom thereof with a slit in communication with the saw blade receiving slot. The handsaw can be detachably fastened with the handsaw guide members such that the handsaw can be separated from the saw bench to allow the handsaw to be used independently as an ordinary handsaw.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1998Date of Patent: October 17, 2000Inventor: Nick Chen

Patent number: 6098694Abstract: A user-sizeable headrail assembly that may be easily and readily cut-down to size by the consumer; includes a pre-assembled, cordless headrail and a cutting jig. The preferred headrail has an elongated track, a pinion rod, and multiple carriers which slide along the track and rod. The cutting jig is sized for removable location between a pair of carriers at a desired location along the pre-assembled headrail for simultaneously cutting the elongated track and pinion rod to divide the pre-assembled headrail into a first scrap portion and a second useful portion having a desired length that is less than the initial length. For this purpose, the cutting jig includes an upper track support portion including upper contact members that contact the opposed sides of the elongated track and a lower rod support portion including lower contact members that extends downwardly from the upper track support portion and surround the pinion rod in the interior of the elongated track.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1999Date of Patent: August 8, 2000Inventor: Harout Ohanesian

Patent number: 5974936Abstract: It is the purpose of this utility process invention to allow a means to recycle the common aluminum beverage can. This is accomplished with the addition of a scribe or scribes to the circumference of the can. The depth and position of the scribe acting as a pre-conditioner, weakening the can a specific amount in a specific location, there by allowing the desired or eventually desired separation at that specific location by secondary means if required. The scribe allows the can to be separated into cylindrical sections having a very smooth and accurate cut edge. These sections may be containers similar to a cup shape, sections with both ends of the can removed and sections with the can top removed. These scribes may or may not meet. Depending upon the eventual use, the sections may remain united. These scribes may be added any time during the can's life span either before opening or after opening and emptying the original contents.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1997Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Inventor: Robert J.
