Abstract: A recording medium production device includes a substrate positioning pin vertically movable that performs positioning to a center-hole of a substrate; a substrate holding portion that performs positioning of substrate using the substrate positioning pin to hold the substrate; a cleaner having a gas ejection portion that ejects gas toward the surface of the substrate held by the substrate holding portion, and a gas suction portion that suctions gas; and a substrate positioning pin fixing portion that can press the substrate positioning pin downward. The fixing portion is configured so as not to contact an inner circumferential side surface of the center-hole of substrate. The substrate positioning pin fixing portion descends inside the center-hole of substrate held by the substrate, and presses and fixes the substrate positioning pin. Then the cleaner performs ejection and suction of gas.

Abstract: A device for cutting reinforced hose to length with limited contamination gaining access to the interior of the hose is disclosed. The device may employ a first rotating blade to circumferentially cut through an outer cover of the hose without penetrating through an interior liner of the hose. The outer cover may be composed of an elastomeric cover reinforced with metallic strands. By preventing the first blade from penetrating the interior liner, the contamination from the kerf created by the blade is not able to access the interior of the hose. After the first blade performs its partial cut around the outer circumference of the hose, the hose may be cleaned and a second blade may be used to cut through the interior liner. The second blade results in very little contamination and thus a cut length of hydraulic hose is created with greatly reduced levels of contamination within the hose without needing a post-cutting cleaning operation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for through-contacting flexible substrates 1, in particular circuit boards, having electrically conductive contact zones 4, 41 present on two opposing surfaces 1a, 1b of the substrate provides that a cut 11 is produced obliquely to the surfaces of the substrate in the area of the contact zones, and the two substrate areas 20, 30 adjoining the oblique cut are moved past each other until they lock behind each other. Moving them past each other is effected by a ram 12, by the action of compressed air 13, by applying a vacuum 14 or by a driving hook 15 fixed to the cutting tool. The two steps of producing the cut and moving the two substrate areas adjoining the cut past each other are effected in a common processing station, preferably in a single operation.

  • Patent number: 7140288
Abstract: A method and cutting device makes incisions in an elongated food product, like a hot dog or sausage, to form a pattern or character after the product is cooked. One form of the cutter includes a hinged housing into which the food product is positioned. The housing includes blades that contact and cut the food product as the housing is closed. Another form of the cutter includes a wheeled cutter and a rack. The wheeled cutter includes gear teeth that permit the rack to be drawn under the wheel as the wheel engages gear openings formed in the rack as the wheel rotates. A food product positioned on the rack is cut by blades on the wheel as the rack travels under the wheel.

  • Patent number: 7096770
Abstract: There is provided an optical recording medium-manufacturing apparatus that is capable of accurately transferring a disk-shaped apparatus during a manufacturing process, and at the same time occupies a small installation area. A control section causes a cut-forming machine installed at a cut-forming location to form a cut in a resin layer of a disk-shaped substrate, then causes an indexing mechanism to rotate a transfer stage to thereby transfer the disk-shaped substrate formed with the cut to a central hole-forming location, and then causes a punching machine to punch a central hole.

  • Patent number: 6718860
Abstract: A method for forming a plurality of slits in a tube includes first, forming a plurality of grooves in the pipe by operating a grooving punch along the length of each of the slits to be made. Then, each slit is formed in the pipe by operating a hole-making punch. The punch has ends at an acute angle and the punch is recessed from the ends toward the center thereof. In view of the fact that each groove is formed beforehand in the surface of the pipe and that the corresponding slit is made while moving the hole-making punch slowly from the ends, a large load is not exerted on the pipe and therefore the pipe is not crushed, burrs are not generated and the cutting chip is removed.
