Abstract: A hood ornament includes a cylindrical support housing positioned below an associated vehicular hood, with the ornament having a side wall formed with projecting rods displaceable to effect retraction of lock rods mounted within the support housing normally biased through lock rod slots in a first position and collapsed within the housing in a second position interiorly of the housing.
Abstract: An ornament retention system comprises an ornament having a base. A mounting element is engaged by the base and a tubular connecting rod is connected to the base by a wire. The wire extends through the rod and is fixed to the rod. A tube surrounds the rod. The tube is interconnected to the mounting element. A stop member is provided on the end of the rod and a spring surrounds the rod end and is interposed between the mounting element and the stop member.
Abstract: Generally there is provided a detachable ornament for the hood of an automobile which is arranged to project through a small opening provided in the hood. A shaft member is arranged with the ornament on its upper end and a key member at its lower end. A bracket affixed to the vehicle positions a plate member under the hood opening. The plate member is arranged with an opening similar to the hood opening but also includes a transverse slot for receipt of the protruding key member. A coil spring, provided in one embodiment on the shaft and in a second embodiment within the bracket, urges the shaft member upwardly when inserted within the bracket. As a result, when the shaft member is inserted through the hood, the spring is compressed as the key member is pressed through the keyhole slot. The shaft is then rotated to cause the key member prongs to lock against the plate member under force of the spring.
Abstract: A vehicle top mark including a base to be fixed to the body of a vehicle, a light-transmitting body that stands on the base, and a light source built into the base. The upper end of the light-transmitting body has an inclined surface that is inclined upward from the front side to the back side, so that the upward light, which passes through the light-transmitting body from the light source, is reflected to the back side of the light-transmitting body. The vehicle top mark is visible to the driver in the nighttime.
Abstract: A collapsible ornament according to the present invention includes a base fixed to an outer panel of a hood, and an ornament body having a hollow part formed by supporting a decorative laminated sheet and a hollow cylindrical shaft connected to the hollow part to hold the ornament body up. A coil spring is inserted into the hollow cylindrical shaft. The lower end of the spring is supported by a supporting body which is located at the bottom end of the hollow cylindrical shaft. In addition, a shaft member extends into the inside of the spring and its lower end is engaged with a hole formed in the base. An upper end of the shaft is coupled to the upper end of the spring.
