In some embodiments, the damage survey information includes an area of impact that defines an area in which at least one physical plant was damaged in the disaster event and a physical plant type identifier (PPTI) for each physical plant damaged in the disaster event. Each PPTI identifies a physical plant type of a plurality of physical plant types. The method also includes analyzing the damage survey information to determine to which of a plurality of disaster recovery dispatch units (DRDUs) the DRS should route the damage survey information and routing the damage survey information to the appropriate DRDUs.
