Abstract: To provide a user with descriptive images for each function performed by a button, the embodiments described herein use a transforming graphical expression that presents different images depending on the particular function the button is currently performing. For example, if the button is used to increase speaker volume, the graphical expression may display plus sign, but if the button is currently being used to navigate through a display menu, the graphical expression may be transformed into an arrow to indicate the direction a selection element in the menu moves if the button is activated. Thus, as the current function of the button changes, the graphical expression presented to the user also changes. In this manner, the same button may be used to perform multiple functions while presenting to a user a customized graphical expression indicating the current function of the button.

Abstract: A method of using mobile devices of participants of a meeting to facilitate a meeting is disclosed. It is identified that a group of two or more people are conducting the meeting. Information about the group of the two or more people is collected based on a relevance of the information to a context of the meeting. At least a portion of the information is transmitted for presentation in a user interface of a mobile device of each member of the group to facilitate the meeting.

Abstract: A method includes displaying a user interface for displaying a graphic and a hidden graphic in a first area; displaying a set of contents corresponding to the graphic in a second area distinguishable from the first area; detecting a user's gesture for selecting a part of the first area; enlarging the first area to include a part of the second area; displaying a plurality of graphics including the graphic and the hidden graphic in the extended first area in response to the user's gesture; detecting a user's additional gesture for moving a first graphic among the plurality of graphics; and moving the first graphic to a part of the extended first area in response to the user's additional gesture, and moving a second graphic of the plurality of graphics to an area from which the first graphic is moved out.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a dockbar implementation method, device and system, which belong to the field of communications. The method includes: acquiring an interface operation instruction for an application program inside a dockbar; generating a dockbar interface refresh data according to the interface operation instruction; and refreshing an interface of the dockbar according to the dockbar interface refresh data. The device includes an application layer and a logic layer. The present disclosure can realize the dynamicity of the dockbar and improve the flexibility of the dockbar.

Abstract: A method of displaying a message on a chat window is provided. The method includes selecting a cartoon image group including a plurality of cartoon cut images, receiving a chat content, selecting a cartoon cut image from the selected cartoon cut image group, and displaying the selected cartoon cut image including the received chat content in some areas of the selected cartoon cut image on a messenger chat window.

Abstract: A mobile terminal using a plurality of message services and a control method thereof are provided. The mobile terminal includes: a display unit configured to display list information including a plurality of identification items corresponding to a plurality of message windows, respectively, when the plurality of message windows are open for message communication between or among a plurality of conversation participants; and a controller configured to invite at least some of conversation participants of a first message window corresponding to a first identification item to a second message window corresponding to a second identification item when the first identification item, among the plurality of identification items, partially overlaps with the second identification item according to a touch input applied to the display unit.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for more easily selecting a desired one of a plurality of corresponding link entities displayed on a touch screen. The method includes verifying the number of link entities which exist within a touch region of a predetermined size around a touch point, and if the number of the link entities which exist within the touch region of the predetermined size is greater than or equal to a threshold value, displaying a window which enlarges and displays contents displayed on the touch region of the predetermined size by a certain magnification, and then waiting for touch and selection of one of the corresponding link entities enlarged and displayed on the window.

Abstract: A user may interact with a control interface in the course of interacting with electronic content. The control interface may include any user interface utilized to adjust various aspects of an application, including, but not limited to, scroll bars, sliders, and/or navigation windows. Input at the control interface may be received from the user indicating that the user desires to manipulate the electronic content (e.g., jump to another location in a movie) or, alternatively, that the user wishes to manipulate the control interface. Upon determining that the input is intended to manipulate the control interface, the control interface may be adjusted to display a control interface view that provides finer or coarser granularity, allowing the user to interact with the control interface with more accuracy.

Abstract: A touchpad includes a controller connected to a touch sensor. The controller detects the fingers touching on the touch sensor to determine to start up and terminate a scroll bar control function. In the scroll bar control function, the movement of the finger or fingers touching on the touch sensor is detected for scrolling on a window, and the vertical distance and the horizontal distance of the movement are evaluated for determining the scrolling amount of a vertical scroll bar or a horizontal scroll bar of the window.

Abstract: Method and system for the provision of interactive assistance over a network for a user to complete a desired computing task on a user computing device. Task-guides are generated on task-guide generators operating on author user devices. Each task-guide includes a sequence of processes, each process including an action for the user to perform in association with a graphical user interface (GUI) object displayed on the user computing device. The process obtains information about the GUI object using at least one data-gathering technique. An administrator operating on a server computing device receives a task-assistance request from a task-guide executor operating on an end user device, and sends back at least one suitable task-guide over the network. The task-guide executor executes the task-guide on the end user device, displaying a sequence of instructions for the end user to follow in order to complete the desired computing task.

Abstract: A touch-based mobile device and a method for performing a touch lock function of the mobile device are provided. In the method, the device displays a touch lock screen in which a cover layer is superimposed over a specific underlying screen and allows the underlying screen to be visible. When an input of a touch moving gesture is detected, the device moves the cover layer depending on the touch moving gesture, and determines whether a distance of the touch moving gesture reaches a predefined critical distance. If so, the device removes the cover layer from the touch lock screen and switches the touch lock state to a touch unlock state, thus allowing a user to more conveniently switch the touch lock state to the touch unlock state.

Abstract: A hand-held device has a housing having a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface, at least one transmitter, a first user interface associated with the top surface of the housing having first user interface input elements which, when active, are actuatable to cause the at least one transmitter to transmit communications to an external device, and a second user interface associated with the bottom surface of the housing having second user interface input elements which, when active, are actuatable to cause the at least one transmitter to transmit communications to an external device. Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a user interface having a header or banner that displays information about a current context to help a user to gather information. In one example, the user interface displays information of a datacenter's health and status, including alerts that have been triggered. The user interface displays a context banner that tracks information gathered and actions taken within the context of the alert, and provides aggregate information or detailed information about the alert.

Abstract: A method for providing a Graphic User Interface (GUI) associated with execution of an application in a mobile terminal supporting a multi-tasking function, and an apparatus implementing the same. The method for providing (GUI) in a mobile terminal, preferably includes: displaying an application execution icon region and application execution screen region configured by one or more application execution icons; receiving selection of one from the one or more application execution icons; and displaying a reduction mode execution screen of an application corresponding to the selected application execution icon on the application execution screen region. When using a multi-tasking function of a mobile terminal, the user can view a plurality of application execution screens on one screen, and input an operating command for a plurality of applications on one screen.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for inputting data entries of a service for use with a portable electronic device having a touch screen. By detecting a continuous stroke moving on the touch screen to select desired items among multiple levels of menus which are displayed in a sequence for an object targeting to a service, the data entries according to the selected items are committed for the object when the continuous stroke ends. In addition, multiple items can be selected in one level of menu by using a pre-defined stroke indication in the continuous stroke. Furthermore, the selected items can be corrected by re-stroking back to the corresponding levels of menus.

The interstitial creator receives a request to insert an interstitial at a location in the playlist, wherein the location is after a first media item and before a second media item. In response to the request, the interstitial creator provides an interstitial creation interface and receives, through the interstitial creation interface, interstitial configuration parameters. The interstitial creator creates the interstitial based on the received interstitial configuration parameters and inserts a pointer to the interstitial into the playlist at the location.

Abstract: A system for displaying the listings of files and/or folders in one of a plurality of different views (e.g., gallery view or list view). In particular embodiments, the system determines which of the views to display in the listings in based on: (1) the types of files to be displayed; (2) a specified preference of a content sharer; and/or (3) a specified preference of a content recipient. Various embodiments are particularly useful for displaying lists of files that a content sharer shares with a content recipient via a URL within the context of a synched file sharing system.

Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) is polled to identify updates for transmission to a client device. A generalized poll of the GUI is conducted at a first frequency, wherein the poll compares color values of each pixel in a general region of the GUI with a previously known color value for that pixel to detect changed pixel color values. A local region that is a subset of the general region is determined to have a greater likelihood of being updated, e.g., regions encompassing a location of mouse and/or keyboard activity. A localized poll is conducted at a second frequency of only the local region of the GUI.
