The motion transfer element is set within an interior space of the hollow grip and has a shape that is substantially similar to a shape of at least a portion of the hollow grip. The button enables a user to retract and extend the retractable extension handle. The engagement latch is configured to fix a position of the retractable extension handle relative to the item of luggage. The hollow grip is configured to rotate relative to the actuator.

The hair styling aid includes a handle and a housing connected to the handle, the housing having: guide means for receiving a length of hair to be styled, the guide means being provided by an aperture in the housing through which the length of hair is admitted into the housing in use; a rotatable element in the housing, rotatable relative to the guide means; a motor for rotating the rotatable element in a clockwise direction or in an anticlockwise direction; and an elongate member around which, in use, the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element; wherein the rotatable element has two hair-pushing surfaces, one of the hair-pushing surfaces being oriented for pushing hair when the element is rotated clockwise and the other of the hair-pushing surfaces being oriented for pushing hair when the element is rotated anticlockwise in use.

Abstract: A hair dryer with an ionizing solution provides a translucent reservoir which contains an ionized solution. The hair dryer heats the solution into a vapor, and may then be used to apply the ionized vapor to a salon client's hair while styling it, to prevent brittleness, damage, and split ends. In one embodiment a cradle is provided for recharging a handheld hair dryer and storing various attachments which are ready for immediate use. When separated from the handheld hair dryer, the cradle transfers electric power to the hair dryer via resonant inductive coupling, creating an oscillating magnetic field which is converted to electric power by components within the hair dryer. A second embodiment provides a standing hair dryer. The hair dryer also provides wireless internet and power outlets for mobile electronic devices.

Abstract: A system of hair styling brushes comprising a thermal plate situated over a resilient cushion member having bristles integrated with the resilient cushion member and extending through and away from the thermal plate, with an air break, or gap, between the thermal plate and resilient cushion member. The thermal plate assists shaping, shining, and drying of hair when used with a blow dryer. Further, the thermal plate covers the elastomeric materials forming the resilient cushion member, making the elastomeric materials less susceptible to degradation.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing UV radiation for curing of gels on fingernails and thumbnails including is disclosed. The apparatus includes an enclosure with a generally oval shaped opening into which a hand placed on a tray may be inserted. The tray is specifically configured to ensure that the hand is correctly placed so that each fingernail and the thumbnail of a hand is under a corresponding UV-LED when the tray slides into the enclosure.

The central controller is configured to generate command data capable of affecting operation of at least the first and second units based on one or more scenting schedules. The central controller is also configured to determine a relatedness and an order of priority between the units, and determine whether a desired activation time for the first unit overlaps at least partially with a desired activation time for the second unit. Based upon a determination that the first unit is related to the second unit and that a desired activation time for the first unit overlaps at least partially with a desired activation time for the second unit, the central controller is further configured to coordinate activity level of each of the first and second delivery units during the overlapping activation time according to the order of priority.

Abstract: The present invention is a platform and mat for use by barbers. The platform elevates a mat a few inches above the ground and is generally of rectangular shape with a semicircular cut out to account for a barber chair in the shape of a barber mat in which a barber can stand on. The shape should not be construed as limiting; however, as relevant mats in the field exist in a variety of shapes and sizes. Additionally, the invention may comprise a lip extending approximately an inch above the mat along the upper perimeter of the platform to give the barber notice of the edge of the platform before falling off the platform.

Abstract: A retractable shoulder strap for portable objects, such as bags, purses, briefcases or carry-on luggage, comprises a shoulder pad, an elongated strip of pliant material, a plurality of holes positioned at substantially uniform intervals along the length of the elongated strip, and retractors located inside the shoulder pad. Extendible guide wires passing through the plurality of holes connect the ends of the elongated strip to the retractors, which are spring-biased to automatically retract the guide wires and stow the elongated strip inside internal storage spaces in the shoulder pad, thereby eliminating slack in the strap when no tension is applied to the ends of the elongated strip. When tension is applied to the ends of the elongated strip, the portions of the elongated strip stowed in the internal storage spaces of the shoulder pad are automatically extracted, thereby increasing the length of the strap to facilitate normal over-the-shoulder use.

Abstract: The inventive subject matter is generally directed to a pack with an automatically opening compartment. The pack has a body that defines a volume for the containment of articles, and a strap system for supporting the pack in a user's body. A section of the pack is hingeably coupled to another body portion of the pack. The hingeable section has a first condition, providing an opening to a compartment in the pack, and a second condition, closing the opening to the compartment. The hingeable section is coupled to a spring system that is (1) unloaded when the hingeable section is in the first condition and (2) relatively loaded when in the second condition, so that the compartment automatically opens when the closure system is released. The pack may include a closure system for locking the hingeable section in the closed condition.

Abstract: An attachment to a mobile device, allowing a user to grasp and use the device. The attachment may include three concentric, interlocking rings. An outer ring adhered to a backing plate may be affixed to a surface of a device, such as a rear surface of a cell phone, smart phone, personal digital assistant, calculator, MP3 player, iPod, iPad, tablet computer or other mobile device. An inner ring attaches to a middle ring via a hinge mount. The grasping device may resemble a ring for a finger of a user, by which a user grasps the attachment and thus the mobile device. The inner and outer rings may be connected and interlocked by a mating middle ring. The middle ring allows the inner ring to rotate relative to the outer ring, allowing the user to conveniently position or orient the mobile device as desired. Other shapes may be used.

The replacement head includes a neck with a head at one end and a brush shaft disposed within the neck. The eccentric extension engages an angled slot in the bristle carrier to drive the bristle carrier. The brush shaft, including the eccentric extension and the axial extension, may be formed together as a single unitary piece.
