Abstract: A buckle includes a male member and a female member. The male member includes: a base; a pair of legs that project from the base; engaging portions that are provided on the legs to be engageable with the female member; and a linking body that links the pair of legs. The linking body includes a curved portion that is curved such that the middle thereof is closest to the base. A pair of projecting portions that are substantially parallel with an insertion direction of the male member extend from the base to be disposed outside the curved portion such that the curved portion is interposed therebetween. With this arrangement, the linking body for linking the pair of legs can be disposed with less possibility that other objects are caught in a space in the male member and without increasing a length dimension in the insertion direction more than necessary. The male member can be stably held relative to the female member against a torsion force.

Abstract: A fastening comprises a first, female component (1) and a second, male component (2), each component being adapted for attachment to a back panel, wing or strap of a garment or the like, wherein the first component comprises a plastic first plate which has an inner side (4) and an outer side (5). The second component comprises a second plastic plate which has an inner side and an outer side adapted to at least partially overlie the outer side of the first plate in use. The first plate (1) is formed with a plurality of connecting recesses (8) and the inner side of the second plate (2) is formed with at least one connecting protrusion (16) adapted to be releasably received and retained selectively in any one of the connecting recesses. The second plate (2) is formed with a resilient nose (20) which is inclined downwardly in the direction from its outer side towards its inner side and is deflected upwardly when the components are coupled together to bear resiliently against the outer side of the first plate.

Abstract: A latch mechanism includes a press portion, two connection portions, and two latch portions. The two connection portions are connected to opposite ends of the press portion correspondingly. Each connection portion includes two connectors. First ends of the two connectors are connected together to form a coupling end to connected to a corresponding end of the press portion. Each latch portion is selectively connected to the second end of one of the two connectors of a corresponding connection portion.

Abstract: A fastener includes an upper mounting portion, a lower mounting portion, a connecting portion extending through the upper mounting portion and connecting the lower mounting portion, a resilient portion set on the connecting portion and pressing the upper mounting portion, at least a supporting portion with a first end thereof connecting the upper mounting portion, and an operating portion pivotally connecting a second end of the at least a supporting portion. The operating portion includes a cam abutting against the connecting portion. The cam is rotatable relative to the at least a supporting portion, to bring the upper mounting portion to move up and down, and make the fastener shift between a locked state in which a fan is securely sandwiched between the upper and lower mounting portions and a released state in which the upper mounting portion is disengaged from the fan.

Abstract: A window regulator assembly is described that comprises a window bracket that is in contact with the bottom edge of the window; a cable; a carrier plate that is in contact with the window bracket and both ends of the cable; a tension spring located on each end of the cable; an upper bracket assembly; a drum housing having a cable drum; a hollow conduit located between the upper bracket assembly and the drum housing; and a drive unit. The upper bracket assembly, cable drum, and conduit are capable of slideably receiving the cable, while the tension springs provide a predetermined amount of tension to the cable in order for the window regulator assembly to move the window between open and closed positions. Many of the components of the window regulator assembly may be formed from a thermoplastic material.

Abstract: A strip for tamper evidencing has a first layer and one or more reinforcing layers. An adhesive is provided on a first portion of the strip to selectively adhere the first portion of the strip onto the first layer of a second portion of the strip, wherein the first layer is such that removal or attempted removal of the first portion of the strip from the second portion of the strip will be evidenced by the first layer. The reinforcing material may be arranged such that portions of it are bonded to each other at a plurality of locations spaced along the length of the strip. A security system may include a tamper evidencing device and a receipt portion having corresponding unique identifiers, wherein the receipt portion includes a zip tab securing portion for securing zip tabs or luggage locking points and the evidencing device includes a trackable identifier.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a clasp for jewelry comprising a first hollow closure element which comprises a groove having an insertion aperture and extending at least partially around the circumference of the first closure element. The groove is configured to receive a fastening member of a second closure element which is insertable through the insertion aperture into the groove of the first closure element and whose cross-section is larger than the width of the groove. The first closure element comprises a wall at each of the two opposite end portions which ends the hollow first closure element, wherein the groove extends into the respective wall of the end portions and ends there.

The holder includes a slide and a projecting, rigid securing member on the first plug. The rigid securing member is positioned at a distance away from the slide. The holder includes a slide receptacle and a resilient lock on the second plug, with the resilient lock being positioned at a distance away from the slide receptacle. The slide receptacle is configured in such a way that the slide is encompassed by the slide receptacle. A releasable connection is provided between the first plug and the second plug when the slide receptacle receives the slide and the rigid securing member engages the resilient lock locking into a final position. The holder is intended for use, for example, with plugs used in the vehicular industry.

The fastening device comprises a first fastening member, a second fastening member and a third fastening member. Afterwards, the first fastening member is attached to the base board. Finally, the second and third fastening members, which have been assembled, are engaged with the first fastening member, so as to press the heat sink tightly. Accordingly, the heat sink will be fastened on the base board easily and stably.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for securing one or more wires or cables relative to a conduit, for example, an underground conduit, an above ground conduit, or a conduit disposed in a building. The inhibiting device can hinder or prevent the removal of such wires or cables from the conduit by compressing the wires or cables between a clamp and a portion of the inhibiting device and/or conduit at a location that is not co-axial with a central axis of the conduit. As a result, a resistive frictional load is applied to the wires or cables which has a vector generally parallel and opposite to a removal force and a vector generally perpendicular to the removal force. In some embodiments, the inhibiting device can include a bolt, fabric, nylon, polymer, or compression type clamp. In some embodiments, a system can include a plurality of clamps which are transversely and axially separated.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new design for a shower curtain which is easy to hang by the user. The shower curtain of the present invention comprises an elongated flap panel which runs the length of the top of the unit and folds over the shower curtain rod and fastens to itself. Notably, appropriately positioned along the top and bottom of this panel extension is a series of corresponding snap fasteners. Although the fastening means illustrates the use of snaps, other fastening means are also useful for this invention. Other fastening means include, but are not limited to: plastic snaps, hook and loop fasteners, and a plastic “Zip-Lock™” type fastener, for example.

Abstract: A swivel coupling is provided for connecting a multi-piece restraint having two trapezoidally shaped segments capable of rotating with respect to each other. Each segment includes rectangular and multiple cylindrical portions with one being orthogonal to the segment and having an orifice for receiving a connecting means to join the segments. In another embodiment, one segment is joined to an attachment having a hook that includes a base portion and a hook portion where the base portion includes an orthogonal cylindrical portion having an orifice for receiving a connecting means that extends through the orifice and through the second orifice of the segment.

The fastener devices and methods may be used or performed in combination with storage elements, as in traditional peg board hooks, clasps, hangers or rings, with fastener elements, as in screws, bolts, and nails, and retained elements generally, such as materials, tools, and other implements. The fastener device and method may correspond to at least one aperture and in some embodiments a plurality of apertures, each aperture extending from a first to a second surface of the fastener device and having configurations unique of the present invention.

Abstract: A subsea connector comprises a female element (1) defining a parallel bore (2) adapted to receive a male element (3). First releasable locking means are disposed between elements (2) and (3) and comprise a sprung cage (6) in which balls (5) are retained for movement in tapered grooves circumferentially spaced around element (3). As the cage moves relative to element (3) balls (5) protrude from the cage to a greater or lesser extent to lock the elements together. Second locking means prevent relative movement between elements (1) and (3) in a locking release direction of the first releasable locking means. These second locking means comprise lock balls retained in an apertured body disposed between elements (1) and (2).

The first sheet portion connects to the second sheet portion, forming a gap therebetween. The contact portion connects to the first sheet portion, outside the gap. Abstract: A closure device providing a visual confirmation of occlusion. The closure device includes a first and a second interlocking fastening strips which are arranged to be interlocked over a predetermined length, at least one of the fastening strips having a surface alteration providing visual confirmation of occlusion of the closure device. The surface alteration may be a slit which opens or closes upon occlusion of said closure device. In one embodiment, the surface alteration may extend into a coextruded portion. The color of the coextruded portion is exposed when the surface alteration is open and hidden when the surface alteration is substantially closed. In another embodiment, the surface alteration may extend into an edge glow material which produces an edge glow effect when the surface alteration is open. In a third embodiment, the surface alteration may extend through an opaque side wall to expose the color of the base.

Abstract: A buckle comprises a male portion and a female portion, the female portion having a top face, a bottom face and a cavity for accepting the male portion. The male portion is adapted to snap into the female portion to lock the two portions of the buckle together. At least one face of the female portion is formed from an integrally molded screen made of the same material as the rest of the female portion and having a thickness that is less than a thickness of the female portion. The screen reduces the weight of the buckle, making it more comfortable for the user as well as less expensive to manufacture.

Abstract: A resilient clip is provided for engaging a dog house coupling feature of a trim component. The resilient clip has a mating member for engaging a hole defined in a body panel. The resilient clip includes a triangular mating feature that is positioned relative to the coupling region. The triangular mating feature contacts at least one surface of the dog house structure to minimize rotation of the resilient clip with respect the to the dog house. This reduces rotation of the resilient clip with respect to the hole defined in the body panel.

Abstract: A fastener is provided for removably engaging and holding sections of material, such as a tarp, without piercing the material. One piece of the fastener is a base with one end providing a contact surface for a support structure, and the other forming a substantially elliptical flange. The second piece is a frame having an opening that substantially defines a first ellipse having a first orientation, and a second ellipse having a second orientation. The second elliptical opening is partially occluded at its opposite ends. A section of material to be engaged and held is placed over the elliptical flange. The second piece is oriented to align the first elliptical opening and the elliptical flange, and is inserted over the elliptical flange and section of material to be held. The second piece is then rotated to align the second elliptical opening and elliptical flange.
