  • Patent number: 5699995
Abstract: An pivot valve assembly (1310) for use in a fluid flow system (S). A valve body (1312) has a fluid flow path therethrough and includes an inlet (1314), an outlet (1316), and a valve orifice (1318) formed intermediate the inlet and outlet. A valve member (1332) is mounted for movement relative to the orifice to open and close the fluid path. A solenoid assembly (1362) is supplied an input from a sensor/control unit (S) to effect movement of the valve member. The solenoid acts on a lever arm (1352) which is pivotally mounted so what would otherwise be a linear movement of the lever arm becomes a rotary movement. A ball (1342) seated on a valve stem (1336) of the valve member is contacted by the lever arm and moved thereby as the lever arm moves. This produces a pivotal movement of the valve member into a position opening the orifice and allowing fluid flow through the valve assembly.

The air shutoff valve comprises a tubular valve stem disposed within the air stem of the hopper gun. The valve stem has an air inlet port proximal a first end and an open second end. A valve control element controls airflow into the hopper gun by selectively obstructing the inlet aperture of the male quick disconnect air fitting. The valve control element comprises a resilient conical frustum-shaped plug disposed partially within the inlet end of the male fitting whereby pressurized air attempting to enter will seat the plug against the inlet aperture to stop airflow. The small end of the plug is fixedly connected to the first end of the valve stem.

  • Patent number: 5352214
Abstract: A tubing clamp controlling flow within compressible tubing passing through the clamp which is adapted for inserting the tubing sidewise into the clamp upon opening of a hinged side wall. An adjustable flow controller overlies the tubing and is adapted to rotate, bear upon and squeeze the tubing for precise flow control. A lever arm to actuate the flow controller is in ratcheting engagement with an arcuate bar to hold the lever arm and cylindrical surface of the flow controller in the desired rotative position. The selected position of the lever arm can then be recorded. The tubing clamp can be constructed as a one-piece structure by use of a single mold and prepared as a kit to facilitate use for medical purposes. The assembly of the clamp is thus simplified and the method for controlling flow is accomplished by a series of simple steps.

  • Patent number: 4834294
Abstract: A nozzle head of thermoplastic material injection nozzle is closed in the customary manner with a closure head which has a jet orifice. A jet needle closes the jet orifice in a closed position. The needle is held axially displaceable in a needle bearing. An actuation lever is set into a slit-like recess in the needle bearing and it is supported with a bearing ball carried at the rear wall of the needle bearing. A stroke transmission bolt set inbetween jet needle and actuation lever in overhung position serves for transmitting the closing force from the actuation lever to the jet needle. Upon opening, the injection pressure pushes the jet needle rearward if the actuation lever is rotated into the open position. In this arrangement a locking spring becomes superfluous and, consequently, no force counter to the spring force must be effected by the injection force.

  • Patent number: 4007911
Abstract: A packingless gate valve actuator assembly having a stepped through passage defined by respective half housings formed with passages of different diameter and respective bolt connector flanges disposed in face to face relation with spacer strips interposed between diametrically opposite flange face margins to define a laterally related gate passage, a compressible elastomeric liner sleeve fitted to the passage of greater diameter with its opposite ends protruding axially from the passage ends and the end opposed to the flange face defining the end of the smaller diameter passage formed to span the gate passage and provide a protruding lip sealingly engaging the last mentioned flange face in annular surrounding relation to the smaller diameter passage end, a gate having a leading knife edge slidingly mounted in the gate passage with the lead tip of the knife edge disposed to enter the line of seal and deform the lip into sealing engagement with the opposed face of the knife edge and gate in its reciprocal move

  • Patent number: 3973593
Abstract: A two-way valve for a brake booster functions first to interrupt a vacuum connection between two chambers when displaced by an actuating rod and second to permit atmosphere to enter into one of the two chambers to provide the booster action. In such known arrangements there is a disadvantage that the brake actuation requires considerable lost brake pedal travel. According to the present invention this disadvantage is overcome by arranging a valve body coaxial of and axially displaced on the actuating rod and by coupling the actuating rod to the valve body by means of a travel-transmission arrangement which provides for a larger displacement travel of the valve body relative to the travel of the actuating rod.

  • Patent number: 3971542
Abstract: A valve system with an electromagnetically operated pilot valve for pneumatically actuating an operating piston of a primary valve for accurately metering, controlling and/or dispensing fluid with the primary valve. The piston is connected for pivoting a valve member actuating rod enclosed within a flexible tubular projection of a Teflon valve body via a rocker arm engageable with a free end of the tubular projection. Connectors for inlet and outlet Teflon conduits to the Teflon valve body have hard plastic inserts mounted within inlet and outlet passageways of the valve body between conforming sealing surfaces of the valve body and conduits.
