Note that “1” here is not a strict value. To be more specific, in contrast to the conventional technique in which correction is performed with the largest value being made equal to about “1,” the present embodiments sets the smallest value at about “1.” This idea itself is a first point which makes the embodiments different from the conventional technique. When doing so, all the correction coefficients are “1” or larger. In the case where a correction coefficient is “1” or larger, when the input is large, the output is saturated.

The control device has a user interface that receives a user input identifying an audio selection and a language. At least one module of the control device transmits a control signal adapted to cause playing of audio information corresponding to the audio selection in the language identified by the user input on the entertainment system. The entertainment system may in addition drive a plurality of speaker devices. The control device may receive an additional language selection and cause playing of the audio information in a plurality of languages corresponding to the additional language selection on the plurality of speaker devices. Also for example, the control device may drive a second plurality of speaker devices. The control device may be adapted to receive media guide information and/or language guide information and present such information to a user.

Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for reducing visual distortion in near-to-eye (“NTE”) visual display systems that is worn, at least partially, on a viewer's head. The movement rate of the viewer's head is sensed while an image that comprises individual content frames is displayed on the NTE using a vertically based raster scan. A characteristic of the raster scan is varied to mitigate distortion of the content frames due to the viewer's head movement.

  • Patent number: 7825990
Abstract: A method and apparatus for an analog-to-digital video signal converter. The converter is controlled by a clock with controllable frequency and phase for sampling an analog signal. A circuit corrects the clock frequency using a period of a columnar frame differences as a function of columnar location. The sampling clock frequency is changed by an amount dependent on the period of the columnar differences. A second measure of the difference between successive frames is computed for a sequence of clock phases. The frequency of the clock is verified using a characteristic of the second measure. The characteristic can be the ratio of the maximum to the minimum of the second measure over selected clock phases. Other characteristics can be used such as a difference of a maximum and a minimum measure.
