Signaling (ancillary To Main Information) Patents (Class 370/522)
  • Patent number: 11943709
Abstract: A method and device are provided for dynamic access point (AP) selection by a coordinator in a coordinated AP group. The coordinator of the coordinated AP group receives one or more link quality metrics for each link between a station (STA) and each of a plurality of member APs in the coordinated AP group, from the plurality of member APs. The coordinator selects an anchor AP for the STA from the plurality of member APs based on the one or more link quality metrics for each link. The anchor AP is used to relay transmissions between the STA and the coordinator. Authentication of the STA with the anchor AP is shared with all APs in the coordinated AP group, allowing the STA to utilize any subsequently selected anchor AP to relay transmissions without re-authentication.

Abstract: A cellular data communication network includes a gNodeB connected to a UPF by an IP network. A first translation module translates GFP packets into IP packets transmitted over the IP network. A second translation module translates the IP packets back into IP packets and forwards the IP packets to the UPF. A PFCP proxy snoops information and provides it to a BGP module that programs the translation modules and a routing module to perform routing of packets in bypass of the UPF. The BGP module may program the first translation module with an SR policy associated with a binding SID that is bound to an interface to the gNodeB. The SR policy may invoke translation according to a function. The routing module may be programmed to embed GTP information in an SRH header that is used by the first translation module. BGP module may also distribute routing and VPN updates.

  • Patent number: 11736333
Abstract: In addition to the normal modulation states of 5G and 6G (BPSK, QPSK, 16QAM, etc.), the modulation scheme may include one or more zero-power states in which an amplitude is transmitted with very low or zero power. The receiver can detect the zero-power state and treat that state as an additional modulation state of the modulation scheme, thereby increasing the information content of each message element due to the additional number of modulation states available for encoding. Alternatively, the zero-power state or states may be used for special options, such as indicating a beginning or an ending of the message. Zero-power states may also be used to separate the message from an associated demodulation reference or to separate sequential messages. Substantial power may be saved since the zero-power states require very little (or no) transmitter power.

Packets are transferred between two consecutive stages, called producer and consumer, via a fixed-size storage. Both the producer and the consumer can access the storage without locking it and, to facilitate selective consumption of the packets by the consumer, the consumer can transition between awake and sleep modes, where the packets are consumed in the awake mode only. Abstract: Technologies for correcting flipped bits prior to performing an error correction decode process include an apparatus that includes a memory to store a redundant set of codewords and a controller to read data from the memory. The controller selects a codeword from the redundant set of codewords to read from the memory, analyzes the selected codewords to determine whether the codeword contains uncorrectable errors, reads remaining codewords in the redundant set that correspond to the selected codeword, combines the remaining codewords together to generate a rebuilt codeword, flips bits in sections of the rebuilt codeword that differ from the selected codeword by a threshold amount, and performs an error correction decode process based on the rebuilt codeword.

  • Patent number: 10109285
Abstract: The present technology relates to a coding device and method, and a decoding device and method, and a program capable of reducing the amount of calculations for decoding. A separating unit separates a supplied bit stream into coded data of channel sources including a dialog source, coded data of additional data sources, and coded data of dialog information. A dialog information decoding unit decodes the coded data of the dialog information. When the dialog information acquired by the decoding is presented to a viewer, the viewer selects one source from the dialog source and some additional dialog sources. An additional dialog source decoding unit decodes only the coded data of an additional dialog source selected by the viewer. An additional dialog selection unit outputs a viewer-selected audio signal from among the audio signals of the dialog source and additional dialog sources in response to the selection instruction of the viewer.

Abstract: In a wireless network, full duplex communication is established using a half-duplex mechanism. During a full duplex communication opportunity, a first quantum of data is transmitted from a first station to a second station and a second quantum of data is received by the first station from the second station. The full duplex transmission opportunity is implicitly or explicitly established and ended using a transmission mechanism understood by half duplex wireless stations.

  • Patent number: 9755941
Abstract: Systems and methods that use adaptive control of communication protocol parameters in a network of moving things. Each network device may share information identifying communication protocol parameters used by the network device through periodic broadcasts, which may be received by neighboring network devices that are within communication range. The neighboring network devices may then adjust their own communication protocol parameters accordingly when attempting to communicate with the first network device and their own neighboring network devices. Network devices that have not received the shared information may use information about their geographic location and the geographic location of neighboring network devices to estimate values of some communication protocol parameters that will provide more effective communication.

  • Patent number: 9414132
Abstract: A method and a first network node for managing a signalling connection control part, “SCCP”, are provided. The SCCP connection is associated with a first SCCP identity. The first network node handles a distribution table for distributing a message to a first or a second SCCP instance. The message is provided with the first SCCP identity and is received on the SCCP connection. The first network node configures the distribution table such that the first SCCP identity is associated with the first SCCP instance, thereby allowing the message provided with the first SCCP identity to be received by the first SCCP instance. Then, the first network node reconfigures the distribution table such that the first SCCP identity is associated with the second SCCP instance, thereby managing the SCCP connection such that the message provided with the first SCCP identity is received by the second SCCP instance.
