Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for screening and selectively blocking private calls. A processor executing instructions associated with a private call blocking service can detect a call from a calling device directed to a called device. The processor can determine that the call has a caller identification blocking marker indicating that a fixed label should be provided to the called device to prevent the called device from presenting caller identification data associated with the calling device. In response to determining that the call has the caller identification blocking marker, the processor can obtain a custom private caller identification mask instead of the fixed label. The processor can provide the custom private caller identification mask to the called device for the call, where the custom private caller identification mask can be presented to a called party associated with the called device without revealing the caller identification data.

Abstract: A system and method for managing phone calls by enabling the call initiator to create a personalized audio or video invitation that the call recipient may review prior to accepting the call, which is immediately connected upon acceptance. An originator fetches contact information in a memory medium within a device or contact information to be displayed in a separate service on the Internet and selects a receiver. When the contact information of the selected receiver is stored on the server, the server acquires the receiver's reception/communication availability information and displays whether the receiver can receive a call on a screen of an originator's communication device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improved e911 call handling. The system enables users to create multiple categories of callers. When a user makes a 911 (emergency) call, different categories of users receive different treatment. A call from a public safety access point (PSAP), for example, can be routed to the user's user equipment (UE). A caller on a favorites list may also receive the same, or similar, treatment. General callers, on the other hand, can be sent directly to voicemail, as is currently the practice for all callers. The system can enable certain callers to be sent to the UE to activate call-waiting, even though the user is on an emergency call, rather than being sent to voicemail with no explanation. The system can be used to provide this service to family members, healthcare professionals, PSAPs, and other important callers.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method and technique for caller authentication is disclosed. The method includes: responsive to initiation of a telephone call by a caller from a first telephone unit to a second telephone unit, retrieving an identification object comprising identification information corresponding to the caller; encrypting the identification object using an encryption key stored on the first telephone unit; and transmitting, as part of the telephone call, the encrypted caller identification object to a telephone network destined for the second telephone unit.

Abstract: In one aspect herein, a pre-processor receives audio signals for a conference call from individual callers, each of the audio signals associated with corresponding metadata, analyzes the metadata, and associates each of the audio signals with a spatial position in a virtual representation of the conference call based on the analyzation of the metadata. A spatial arrangement processor generates a binaural room impulse response associated with the spatial position of each of the audio signals to filter the received audio signals to account for the spatial position associated with each of the audio signals and to account for the effect of the virtual representation of the conference call. A head-tracking controller tracks an orientation of a listener's head using a headset. A binaural renderer produces multi-channel audio data for playback on the headset according to the orientation of the listener's head and the binaural room impulse response associated with the spatial position of each of the audio signals.

Abstract: An automated scanning service can be configured to dynamically determine potential firewall misconfigurations in a shared resource environment. The scanning service can interrogate one or more application programming interfaces (APIs) to determine the state of the relevant firewall ports. For each firewall port in a permitted state, a test or trace can be run to determine whether the corresponding host port is open. Similarly, information can be obtained indicating which host ports for the allocation are open, and a determination can be made as to whether the corresponding firewall ports are permitted. Once the determinations are made, any mismatch in port state can be reported as a potential misconfiguration.

The video communication device can display a unique visual indicator pattern, which may be user-created and user-assigned to the one of the at least two unique identifiers dialed by a caller. The visual indicator pattern may be indicative of the existence an incoming call, the origin of the call, the destination device for the call, the destination ID for the call, or combinations thereof. The video communication device, when receiving an incoming call, may send a wireless notification signal to other communication devices, thereby notifying other devices that a video communication device is receiving an incoming call.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and applications for providing consolidated call logs for both cellular and internet calls. The application (or, “app”) can retrieve (pull), or push, information from a cellular call log to a web real-time communications (WebRTC) call log, and vice-versa. The applications can retrieve call log information from a WebRTC client, for example, and then push this information to user equipment (UE) using a suitable messaging protocol. The app can also retrieve the cellular call log from the call log on the UE, or from cloud-based storage, and push it to the WebRTC client. A consolidated call log can be provided that provides all calls (i.e., cellular- and web-based calls) in a single log. The consolidated call log can also include tabs, or other features, to enable the calls to be displayed separately by source.
