  • Patent number: 4995813
Abstract: The system consists of a board with sockets and an assortment of tetrahedral pegs having a regular obverse face and a reverse side in the form of a triangular shank that inserts to a matching fit in one of the sockets. When the pegs are inserted into the board or first element the adjacent faces of the pegs make contact so that no gaps exist between adjoining edges. Each of the faces, or a part of each face, if divided into more than one field, is uniformly tinted in one of a set of repeatable colors or polychrome or monochrome shadings.

  • Patent number: 4992050
Abstract: The consumer color reference kit of this invention is based on the four basic known process printing colors, viz., magenta (red), yellow, cyan (blue) and black, and contains nine major sheets each of which is dividable readily by the user into four minor cards. Each mirror card contains eight separate, different, distinct readily visually discernable color specimens. One of the major sheets, the primary major sheet, contains four shades (tints) of each of eight major colors or color groups, viz., red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown and gray. The remaining eight major color sheets are referred to as secondary and each secondary major sheet contains thirty-two different, distinct readily discernable shades (tints) of the same eight previously mentioned major colors/color groups. On one side of each of the nine major sheets, the color speciments are glossy (smooth).

  • Patent number: 4911642
Abstract: The color wheel palette includes a generally circular bottom plate with a raised annular shelf and a non-raised central portion, the shelf having a number of spaced color paint wells uniformly disposed therein which may contain color paints therein, while the central portion is divided by raised partitions into a number of color-mixing wells. The shelf wells are sloped downwardly and outwardly from their inner margins to help pool the paints therein. A generally circular cover plate of a slightly larger size and the same general configuration as the bottom plate is releasably stacked over the bottom plate to protect the paint. The cover plate has preferably three groups of three shallower color paint or color-mixing shelf wells which register with the shelf wells of the bottom plate. Each group is prefereably about 120.degree. apart and aligned with a different one of the three central portion color-mixing wells of the cover plate, which register with those of the bottom plate.

  • Patent number: 4878977
Abstract: Method for printing and article produced thereby which uses the six chromatic colors yellow, green, cyan-blue, violet-blue, magenta, red and orange-red and wherein a plurality of color field tables are produced for combinations of two of the chromatic colors which are juxtaposed or neighboring and a plurality of tables for each specific combination is made by varying the amount of black on different color field tables. The color field tables can be utilized to match and obtain desired colors by comparing color field tables with desired colors. If the printing material is not white, the eighth color white may also be used in the printing process.

  • Patent number: 4836381
Abstract: An apparatus/kit for making a composite picture on a surface medium preferably includes such surface medium and pad-like applicators to apply color media to the surface medium forming respective symbols thereon creating the composite picture. The applicators preferably are padlike, being formed of paint, or other color media, holding pads mounted on a support structure or backing; the pads preferably are resilient and absorbent or adsorbent. The invention also embodies a method for creating a composite picture on a surface medium using such pad-like applicators to apply color media in selected symbol-like designs to selected areas of the surface medium. Such application may be in a form of free expression by the user or may follow a prescribed pattern furnished as part of the apparatus/kit.

  • Patent number: 4643974
Abstract: A device for determining the presence and identity of a specific microorganism in a biological sample based on biochemical tests is disclosed comprising a set of containers, each of which contains a reagent for performing an individual biochemical test useful for the identification of microorganisms, the set of containers being assembled on a single supporting member which is imprinted with a series of marks adjacent the containers, which marks are indicative of the expected result of a specific microorganism's performance in each biochemical test using the reagent of each individual container, the series of biochemical test containers, reagents and corresponding marks being sufficient to identify a specific microorganism. Series of marks corresponding to the expected biochemical test results for several specific microorganisms are preferably imprinted on the supporting member, making possible the identification of a single microorganism species from among several possibly present.

  • Patent number: 4629428
Abstract: Colored art work is produced by the use of a kit comprising a collection of small process color reference "tints" printed from selected combinations of three standard process colors, optionally with black, at selected percentage densities. The reference tints are arranged in groups with all the tints in one group having the same percentage, but varying combinations of process colors, and each of the tints is identified by a reference index. The kit also includes larger "cut-out tints" identifiable with individual reference tints and each of exactly the same tone as the corresponding reference tint.

  • Patent number: 4608015
Abstract: A shade guide for dental use comprising a pair of superimposed discs rotatable with respect to one another, one disc being a lower disc with a plurality of regions of different colors representative of different tooth discolorations of the patient, the other disc being an upper disc with a plurality of transparent regions representative of coloration of composite material adapted for being bonded to teeth. By relatively rotating the discs, the transparent regions of the upper disc successively cover the regions of different colors of the lower disc to provide a resultant coloration which neutralizes the discolored tooth and most closely matches the final coloration of the tooth of the patient.

  • Patent number: 4507087
Abstract: The present invention relates to a closed finger painting system that is adapted to be both clean and reusable. Provided is a rigid base member to which a number of closed, clear, flexible bags are attached. The bags are particularly adapted to be overlapped with respect to each other. Each bag contains a colorful, transparent fluid. The fluids can be manipulated within each bag by pressing the bags with one's fingers. When the fluids in more than one bag overlap, they create an optical impression of being mixed to create new colors. Therefore, an infinite variety of distinctive, abstract designs can be created.

Abstract: A game including a plurality of cards each having a different arrangement of colored elements. A plurality of large colored target elements are set out on a flat playing surface such as the floor to duplicate the arrangement of elements on the card that is turned up. The contestant throws a die and thus selects one of the elements as a target. A bean bag is then thrown in one or two tries to hit the individual selected target element. Turns are rotated between contestants until all of the colors are retired. A marker of like color is placed on each one as it is hit.

  • Patent number: 4299165
Abstract: The invention is for color separation orientation gauges and methods by which they are used to produce a finished print in more than one color, the colors used being the primary colors and black. In the printing trade, the primary colors are at times referred to as magenta, yellow, and cyan. The color magenta is basically red, cyan is basically blue and, of course, yellow is basically yellow. The gauges utilized are provided with a predetermined number of dots disposed at various angles depending, for example, on the color to be eventually printed, which gauges are superimposed on a half-tone mask of which there are also a predetermined number of dots which are practically invisible to the naked eye. The gauges of the two embodiments of the invention are provided with special reference line dot densities and angles and legends to provide the color stripper with easy to use compact gauges for producing multi-color prints.
