Abstract: Devices and methods for softening the infill layer of artificial turf. Multiple prongs extend from a rake or a rotating drum or wheel that is pushed or pulled across the artificial turf. In one embodiment, the prongs eject pressurized gas or liquid into the base of the infill. In another embodiment, the prongs vibrate within the base of the infill. Ideally, both methods are employed. The forced gas and/and or fluid, and the vibration, serve to loosen the rubber and sand particulate that make up the infill and thereby soften the artificial field.

Abstract: An industrial sponge device and a method of manufacturing the same. The sponge is made from a polyvinyl acetal material with a process in which the pores are formed by gas to provide an open pore structure having no fibrils. Additionally, the sponge is purified by an extracting process which includes alternating exposure of the partially cross-linked sponge to solutions of high pH and low pH. The sponge is sterilized by electron beam radiation to destroy micro organisms that can cause contamination of the final product. The resulting sponge material is formed into an industrial sponge having a cylindrical body and a plurality of projections extending from the body. The projections are tapered truncated cones having a cross-sectional radius that decreases with distance from the body. The extracting process permits residual amounts of calcium, zinc, and other elements to be 2 ppm or less, preferably 1 ppm or less.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a roller shaft of a computer character-cutting device and the roller shaft itself are disclosed, wherein, an engaging belt having on the surface thereof etched tooth grains is wrapped over the roller shaft, laser welding is processed at the joint of the engaging belt. The laser welding creates high temperature to melt the engaging belt, and the melting spots on the engaging belt are leveled, so that the engaging belt is integrally molten into the roller shaft to largely reduce steps and cost of production, and an effect of high accuracy of paper feeding can be obtained.

Abstract: When rolling steel sheet and other rolled stock, rattling occurs in certain operating states. This results in reduced quality of the rolled stock and rejects as well as damage to the rolling mill. No improvement was achieved by placing brakes on the cylinders. Electronic monitoring is not a satisfying solution. Given that rattling is a self-starting oscillation, resistance sensors are coupled to the cylinders and/or the rolled stock in order to stabilize the self-starting oscillation modes, modes with negative damping, by means of additional damping. In the example illustrated in FIG. 4, cylinder-shaped, rotating dampers are coupled to the working cylinders. Concentric or disc-shaped layers made of steel and plastic such as those found in layered oscillation absorbers are most effective and adaptable. The arrangement of the working cylinder and the damper illustrated in FIG.
