Transverse Of Plug Patents (Class 70/366)
  • Patent number: 4062211
Abstract: A key operated rotary plug cylinder lock having rotary disk tumblers arranged in a pack within a rotary plug sleeve normally held against rotation within the lock casing by a locking bar which spans the shear line between the disk tumbler peripheries and the confronting wall of the rotary plug sleeve. True gates are provided in the tumblers to be aligned by an appropriate key with the locking bar to accommodate inward movement of the locking bar to a position releasing the plug for rotation within the casing, and shallower depth false gates are provided in each of the tumblers having associated false bottom recess portions in the front and rear walls of the tumblers providing forward and rearward false gate profiles or outlines simulating the profile of the true gate. Frangible tabs are also provided on each tumbler extending into a sector recess which will readily break upon excess torquing forces to prevent penetration of the lock by torquing tools.

  • Patent number: 4044578
Abstract: A safety lock and its actuation key are disclosed. The lock comprises an apertured barrel mounted in a cylinder which barrel can be rotated with respect to the cylinder when notched cams inside said barrel have their notches aligned, so that by rotating the key at least one longitudinal catch placed between the barrel and said cylinder can take place into said aligned notches. The apertures form two couples of shanks perpendicular to a central channel for the key body and the shanks of a couple are offset in height with respect to one another.

  • Patent number: 4008588
Abstract: A key operated rotary plug cylinder lock having rotary disc tumblers with a concentric cylindrical boss on one face of each disc tumbler projecting axially into internesting relation into a complemental cylindrical well or recess in the confronting face of the next adjacent disc tumbler. A lock-out pin mechanism to lock the plug against rotation when excessive rearward stress is exerted thereon, and a frangible lost motion coupling between the tumblers and the shell portion of the plug breakable upon excess torquing forces are also provided.

  • Patent number: 3972210
Abstract: A disc cylinder lock comprising a turnable cylinder enclosing a plurality of locking discs, turnable by the key of the lock, and between adjacent locking discs, intermediate discs. The intermediate discs are radially larger than the locking discs and are provided on one side with an axially extending edge portion defining a cup-formed space on one side of the intermediate disc, the opposite side of the disc being its bottom side. In the lock, the axially extending edge portion contacts the bottom side of an adjacent intermediate disc, so that the last mentioned bottom side forms a cover on the cup-formed space, thereby providing a substantially closed space for each locking disc, located between two adjacent intermediate discs. In this space the locking disc can move without being subject to axial load.

  • Patent number: 3948065
Abstract: A cylinder lock comprising an outer cylinder enclosing a hollow rotatable inner cylinder which, in turn, encloses a plurality of locking discs turnable with the key of the lock. Between the outer cylinder and the peripheral edges of the locking discs there is a locking bar locking the inner cylinder to the outer cylinder. This bar is movable from a position locking the inner cylinder, in which position the bar is located partly in a groove in the inner wall of the outer cylinder to a position releasing the inner cylinder. In the latter position the locking bar is received in a channel formed jointly by locking bar notches in the peripheral edges of the locking discs when the discs are brought to a certain position. The groove in the inner wall of the outer cylinder is provided with a lateral step, so that a deep groove portion and a shallow groove portion are formed.

  • Patent number: 3948068
Abstract: In a magnetic lock of the type having at least one tumbler pin pivotally supported on a mounting plate and a locking plate having an opening arranged to receive one end of the tumbler pin when an opposite end of such pin is attracted by a permanent magnet device carried by a key, the improvement wherein the opposite end of the tumbler pin is formed with a transversely enlarged head portion and the mounting plate is formed with abutment devices arranged to engage with the head portion to insure that the one end of the tumbler pin accurately "points" towards the opening of the locking plate.

  • Patent number: 3942346
Abstract: A disc cylinder lock comprising a number of turnable locking discs, which by turning of the key of the lock are turned from a certain initial position to a position releasing the lock mechanism. In the central part of some of the locking discs, there is an opening comprising two portions between which there are at least two substantially radial steps. One of the portions of the central opening receives the key of the lock while the other, when the key is properly inserted in the lock mechanism, forms at the side of the key a free space with a curved border, into which the key does not move in any of the functional phases of the lock. In front of the last mentioned locking discs, there is at least one other turnable element, for instance another type of locking disc, which has also, in its central part, an opening for the key.
