  • Patent number: 4899882
Abstract: A combination transparent container and hanging tag. The container has a hinged lid and a product-receiving base. The hanging tag is of one piece foldable material dimensioned to be folded at one end within the container and at its other end folded so as to pass outside of the container between the lid and the base walls. This outside end of the foldable material has a through-hole thereby forming a hanging tag for suspending the combination. The foldable material may be imprinted to carry promotional advertising on the outside end and all necessary information for a product within the container. The foldable material may also carry the product prior to its insertion into the box to facilitate the packaging process. The tag portion and container portion of the combination are not fixedly attached to each other.

  • Patent number: 4890468
Abstract: Described is a method for measuring and correcting the plunger adjustment in high-speed stroke presses. The plungers are used for cutting, punching, bending and/or embossing semi-finished goods or the like with high tolerance requirements. The plunger must be readjusted in accordance with the number of strokes per minute and the plunging depth of the plunger is measured. This is carried out using a detector head being provided with a plurality of induction loops, which is guided with the plunger stroke along a permanent magnetic strip, whose longitudinal extension is subdivided into alternating North/South poles. The induced voltage development is scanned through cosine and sine functions of the induction coils for any predetermined travel unit, and the amplitudes of the two functions are measured and evaluated at the turnover point.

  • Patent number: 4888928
Abstract: A synthetic plastics or other flexible but substantially inextensible tiling matrix 1 is provided definning an apertured portion 2 formed with openings 3, half-sized openings 5, and quarter-sized openings 4, one surface of the matrix portion 2 being provided with cruciform and rectilinear projections 9 between which tiles can be installed. The matrix 1 is secured to a wall or other surface that is to be tiled by use of an adhesive and the tiles are secured to that wall or other surface and to the matrix portion 2 by a conventional tiling adhesive following which grouting is installed between the regularly spaced apart tiles in a conventional manner. The projections 9 have a projecting extent that is less than the thickness of the tiles so that they will be concealed after grouting has been completed. Edges of each matrix portion 2 are provided with interlocking projections 6 and recesses 7 so that one matrix portion 2 can quickly and accurately be positioned in line relative to others.

  • Patent number: 4886376
Abstract: A dust-proof seal has a metal plate attached to a slider and a rubber member adhered to the metal plate. The metal plate has an opening to allow a guide rail to pass therethrough, and the rubber member has protrusion protruding inwardly beyond the inner edge of the opening of the metal plate. A pressing member defined by a wire spring is mounted in a channel formed in the rubber member at the periphery of the lip portions and exerts a spring force to press the lip portions against the surface of the guide rail to thereby bring the lip portions elastically in contact with the guide surface to wipe out any dust deposited thereon.

  • Patent number: 4886244
Abstract: This jack comprises a body of a jack mounted to allow the jack to slide and sealed on a guiding column associated at a supporting plate at ground level. It comprises two lifting zones: on the one hand by its upper part, and on the other hand, by its lower ledge, guided on this column and associated at the body of the jack. This jack body is arranged in its back part with a housing forming a reservoir and protecting the pumping means of functioning. The pump body receives a pump piston joined at the operating lever. The body of the pump receives an intake valve emerging in the reservoir. The intake valve [25] is set out angularly oriented in a perpendicular plane at the median longitudinal plane of the jack and guided toward the bottom, being also emerged when the jack is utilized in horizontal position. One method of lining up the intake valve's position is set out laterally on the side of the housing opposite this valve.

  • Patent number: 4883940
Abstract: The invention involves an inexpensive, rugged, flexible, composite plastic backlight panel that provides an even heat distribution across the entire surface of the backlight panel for a convertible top of a vehicle. Two wires are connected to the car battery. A series of conductive members are each in electrical engagement with each of the wires, forming a closed loop electric circuit. The conductive members are printed onto one of the laminates, forming an interlayer thereon. An inner transparent plastic laminate, and an outer transparent plastic laminate are sandwiched around one end of each of the wires, and the interlayer. The laminates including the wires and members are bonded together and the resulting panel is secured to the convertible top thereby forming the backlight panel. When the circuit is energized, the electrical energy is converted into thermal energy that is transmitted to the outer laminate.

  • Patent number: 4882568
Abstract: The invention teaches a sensing device arrangement for a tissue paper roll to give advance warning when the material forming the roll approaches the end. The present invention uses a sensing arrangement which comprises a bracket, a tissue paper roll retaining member, a means for detecting the end of the tissue roll and a signalling means for indicating the end of the tissue roll. The signalling means is operably connected to and activated by the detecting means, when there is a small amount of paper left on the roll, indicating to an attendant that it is necessary to change the paper roll.

  • Patent number: 4876678
Abstract: A sound reproducing device is disclosed in which an index tracking portion formed on a record disc consists of a notch on the continous flange of rotational periphery of a record disc unit. A center pin of the device is normally urged outside of a casing by a spring which also urges an index setting arm with a push button type index setting rotary knob supported on the tip end of said center pin. An index setting portion consists of a plurality of openings formed in the casing and arranged along the rotational plane of said record disc unit. The index setting arm has a resilient engaging hook on its lower tip end, the engaging hook directed toward the rotational center of the record disc unit. The engaging hook engages with the flange of the record disc unit where a specific index setting portion is selected by rotation of the push button type index setting knob. Pushing the index setting knob down makes the engaging hook pass through an index setting openings.

  • Patent number: 4875425
Abstract: A hull form for a vessel which hull form is deep-Vee based and is constructed and arranged for use in a displacement mode. The hull includes a bow section which incorporates a plurality of lateral grooves or, alternatively, a single lateral formation and which extends below the base or datum line of the hull in a streamlined teardrop configuration. Preferably, the hull has deep-Vee deadrise angles (1) whose magnitudes in the region of the transom of the hull are not less than 20.degree.. The surfaces extending between the keel and the water line length are non-planar and have developable convex and concave geometry, all buttock lines of the hull having a negative inclination of between substantially 1/2.degree. and substantially 4.degree.. The invention enables the known advantages of deep-Vee based hull forms to be used in displacement mode vessels having relatively large displacements where, heretofore, "round-bilge" hull forms very greatly predominated.

  • Patent number: 4874251
Abstract: A thermal wave imaging apparatus generates a real time image of the surface and subsurface of an opaque solid object. A.C. electrical signals indicative of the configuration of the surface and subsurface of the object which are generated during a thermal wave scan of the object by a first heating beam which generates a localized temperature gradient on the object and a deflectable second probe beam heating beam, which deflection is detected by a detection device mounted adjacent to the object, are stored in an image memory under the control of a central processor. A refresh counter generates sequential, incremental signals used to control the X and Y axis deflection of a display monitor. Such signals also address the image memory and generate output data controlling the intensity of the display point at each generated X and Y axis deflection point.
