  • Patent number: 4827465
Abstract: A simplified sound reproducing device having a means for preventing collision between a record disc and a sound reproduction stylus is provided. According to the device, during the time of transportation a start lever is set at a position where it has been turned, whereby the center pin is moved downwardly by an inclined face formed on the start lever so that the record disc can be normally held at a position where it is placed away form the pickup of the sound reproducing device. When it is required to use the reproducing device for the purpose of playing, the start lever is turned back to the position where it had been before the first turning for the transportation, thereby subsequent pushing down of the start lever will make the inclined face move the center pin downward so as to move the record disc away from the pickup, then, the pickup is allowed to return to its starting point of sound reproduction and energizes a motor for starting the sound reproduction again.

  • Patent number: 4823441
Abstract: Highly alkaline detergent compositions are prepared by mixing together, in a mixing device, a melt of alkaline material with a heat-alkaline sensitive material, such as, an alkali metal complex phosphate sequestrant and/or an active-chlorine source. The resulting mixture is, then, pelletized on a chill belt. Because of the short contact time between the molten alkaline material and the sequestrant and the rapid solidification, reversion of the sequestrant, particularly, a phosphate sequestrant, is substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 4817999
Abstract: A latch mechanism for convertible vehicles, detaches from the header by a manually-applied, moderate, releasing force applied in the downward direction. This detachment is further enhanced by a unique mechanical linkage that employs cam action between the engaging member and the releasing member. The latch mechanism is mounted in the side-rail of the foldable top of a convertible vehicle. The latch mechanism includes a stationary member, a release member, and an engaging member. The stationary member has a pedestal and a foot extending from the pedestal. The engaging member has a keeper which attaches to the header, and a lip opposite the keeper. The release member is rotatably mounted to the stationary member and pivotally mounted to the engaging member. To detach the latch mechanism from the header, the release member is actuated by applying a disengaging force to the release member in a downward direction.

  • Patent number: 4815094
Abstract: The laser resonator of the present invention has multiply folded optical paths in an extended region by utilizing a set of front surface reflecting elements. The resonator can be used in a gas laser oscillator or amplifier, in either continuous wave mode or pulsed mode. This optical path is folded into larger domains within a polygonal area of the laser cavity, thereby achieving increasingly longer laser paths without a corresponding increase in the number of folding elements. The resulting domains fully cover the plane with a grid of evenly spaced and intersecting optical paths. In one embodiment, the invention consists of a waveguide gas laser system with a ceramic block having a multiply folded optical path of intersecting waveguide channels cut into the block. The reflecting mirrors of the laser resonator are integrally attached to the ceramic block, enhancing the durability of the laser resonator and reducing the size.

  • Patent number: 4811322
Abstract: An index portion of a record disk unit is formed by cutting out a portion of a flange which is formed continuously along a peripheral edge of the record disk unit. When one of selection rods is pushed against a spring which urges the selection rod in a retreating direction, to rotate a stylus presssure release actuating wheel, an engaging member, formed on the selection rod, is elastically deformed by the edge of the flange and rides over the flange into engagement therewith. When the index portion of the record disk unit comes around to a position coincident with the engaging member, the engaging member is allowed to pass through the cut-out portion of the index portion, to thereby return the selection member to its original position by a spring force to be applied a stylus pressure on a pickup.

  • Patent number: 4808371
Abstract: Particularly important properties required for exterior protective members for sheathing heaters are resistance to oxidation, anti-stress corrosion properties and weldability. An austenitic stainless steel for the exterior protective members has been developed from the findings that, firstly, the resistance to oxidation can be remarkably improved by increasing the Cr content together with a combined addition of Al and rare earth metals. Secondly, a small amount of Co addition is effective to enhance alloy ability to withstand stress corrosion cracking in the environment to which sheathing heaters are subjected, and that the weldability of such members can be made superior by maintaining the content of Si and Ti within a specified region.

  • Patent number: 4807296
Abstract: An automatic pattern original reading apparatus is disclosed in which perforation position coordinate data of a pattern original indicating a perforation position of a printed substrate is stored beforehand, and a hole diameter indication sheet having a colored indication which discriminates perforation diameter and which is located at a position corresponding to the perforation position of the pattern original is placed on a table. The table and an optical system for optically reading reflected light from the color indication through color filters are moved relatively to each other by position control circuits to the perforation position. The color detection output from the optical system is discriminated with respect to color by a color discrimination circuit, and the color discrimination output is stored in a memory as hole diameter information in a corresponding relationship with the perforation position coordinate data.

  • Patent number: 4806022
Abstract: A slider of a miniature linear guide apparatus includes a race member having an inverted U-shaped cross section and ball rolling grooves formed in outer surfaces of side walls respectively corresponding to ball rolling grooves of a guide rail, and a ball guide member having a pair of ball return passages in the longitudinal direction and parallel to each other. The ball return passages of the ball guide member are formed in a groove form having upwardly directed openings. The openings are directly closed by an upper plate of the race member when the ball guide member is fitted into a U-shaped recess of the race member. The race member and the ball guide member are secured to each other by fitting protrusions formed on the upper surface of the ball guide member into fixing holes formed in the upper plate of the race member to form the slider.

  • Patent number: 4802825
Abstract: When maintaining a flow of a mixture of products consisting of a liquid of low to medium viscosity incorporating solid particles at a certain temperature and for a certain period of time the mixture remains for some time in a vessel of a substantially cylindrical shape. The residence time in the vessel of the solid particles mixed with the liquid is controlled separately from the liquid in that the solid particles are carried through the vessel at a regulable speed, independently of the speed of flow of the liquid through the vessel, with the aid of a rotatable conveyor means which is permeable to liquid but not to the solid particles and whose axis of rotation coincides with the axis of the vessel. The solid particles remain mixed with the liquid. The residence time of the solid particles is regulated such that the core of the solid particles attains the same temperature as the liquid, without the liquid remaining for too long a time at the desired end temperature.
