Patent number: 6311585Abstract: The present invention relates to a flow regulation device for mitigating over travel of a piston in a fluid operated tool. The flow regulation device includes a flow channel through which flows an operating fluid to be supplied to operate the piston within the tool and a movable flow restrictor within the flow channel. The flow restrictor has an internal fluid passageway for regulating the flow rate of the operating fluid being supplied to the tool to operate the piston. The flow restrictor also has a frustoconical portion which mates or seats against a portion of the flow channel as fluid is being supplied to operate the piston. A spring is provided to insure that the frustoconical portion seats against the mating portion of the flow channel. When the piston is retracted and operating fluid is being returned to a supply, the force applied by the spring is overcome and the flow restrictor is moved so that the frustoconical portion is unseated from the mating portion.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2001Date of Patent: November 6, 2001Assignee: Titan Technologies International, Inc.Inventors: James A. Patent number: 6312942Abstract: Substances such as chemical substances and biological substances including animal, vegetable and microbial cells are encapsulated using a process and an apparatus wherein a coil through which alternating current flows causes a magnet to vibrate creating vibrations such as in the range of between 300 to 4000 Hz that are transmitted to an encapsulating fluid containing the substance to form small substantially spherical particles containing the substance. The apparatus includes a pulsation chamber containing a movable wall for receiving the encapsulating fluid containing the substance to be encapsulated. A nozzle is spaced downstream from the pulsation chamber for receiving the encapsulating fluid from the pulsation chamber. A permanent magnet is mounted on the movable wall, and a coil is spaced from the permanent magnet by an air gap and is located proximate to the permanent magnet.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1998Date of Patent: November 6, 2001Assignee: Inotech AGInventors: Raphael Plüss-Wenzinger, Fritz Widmer, Christoph Heinzen, Harry Brandenberger

Patent number: 6309205Abstract: Described is an apparatus for the production of transversely ribbed tubes, having mold jaw halves which bear against each other along a common mold section and form a mold passage. Each mold jaw half has a cooling passage which is produced directly during the operation of casting the respective mold jaw half, for example by means of a so-called false casting core. The cooling passage extends in the corresponding mold jaw half from a first surface to a second surface so that said core can be easily removed from the casting of the mold jaw half. At the one surface, the cooling passage has a cooling agent feed means and, at a spacing therefrom, a cooling agent discharge means. The second surface which is at a distance therefrom is sealed off by means of a guide and slide element which is fixed to the corresponding mold jaw half.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1999Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: Unicor GmbH Rahn PlastmaschinenInventor: Gerhard Neubauer

Patent number: 6308766Abstract: A process for die-casting aluminum and aluminum alloys is such that the molten metal is introduced into a filling chamber and injected from the filling chamber into a mold cavity by a piston. The mold cavity is evacuated in advance, after which it is flooded with oxygen. After flooding with oxygen and before injecting the molten metal into it, the mold cavity is again evacuated. Finally, the molten metal is injected into the hollow mold cavity. The process enables die-cast parts to be produced with low tendency to forming pores and blisters.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2000Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: Alusuisse Technology & Management Ltd.Inventor: Hans Thurner

Patent number: 6299431Abstract: The present invention is related to a rotary cooling station to be used in conjunction with a high output injection molding machine and a robot having a take-out plate. More particularly, the present invention teaches a high speed robot that transfers warm preforms onto a separate rotary cooling station where they are retained and internally cooled by specialized cores. The preforms may also be simultaneously cooled from the outside to speed up the cooling rate and thus avoid the formation of crystallinity zones. Solutions for the retention and ejection of the cooled preforms are described. The rotary cooling station of the present invention may be used to cool molded articles made of a single material or multiple materials.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1999Date of Patent: October 9, 2001Assignee: Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd.Inventor: Witold Neter

Patent number: 6300784Abstract: There is provided an IC socket, which can peel out oxide films covering the surface of a terminal of IC and that of a wiring, and which can reduce inductance components. A first inclined side of a contact pin comes in contact with an actuating portion of a press lever, a second inclined side thereof comes in contact with rubber, and an engaging portion of the contact pin is supported by a contact pin support member. In a state in which contact portions of the contact pin come in contact with a terminal of IC and a wiring, if the first inclined side of the contact pin is further pressed by an actuating portion of the press lever, the contact pin deforms rubber and moves as rubbing the terminal of IC and the wiring. Thus, since the rubber is elastically deformed, there is no need to deform the contact pin itself elastically, so that the contact pin can be downsized.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1999Date of Patent: October 9, 2001Assignee: Enplas CorporationInventor: Takeshi Yamamoto
