Abstract: A process mass flow apparatus for measuring the mass flow rate of a powdered, granulated or otherwise substantially divided process solid, seeds, grains, or similar particulate materials includes a process material inlet, a process material outlet, a measuring chamber connecting the process material inlet and the process material outlet, comprising a movable element with a fixed axis of rotation located in the flow path of the process material and having attached to the axis of rotation a material flow sensor which provides a raw output signal corresponding to an unknown mass flow rate and a processor which contains an empirically derived calibration function for converting the raw output signal to an adjusted signal indicating the mass flow rate of the process fluid.

Abstract: A fuel-filler inlet for motor vehicles comprises a closure neck, an insert associated with the closure neck, a filling chamber downstream of the insert, and a filling tube downstream of the filling chamber which leads to a fuel tank. In order to achieve good guidance of the fuel nozzle, reliable response of the expansion port and ventilation during the fuel-dispensing operation, a collar is provided between the filling chamber and filling tube, the internal diameter of which is somewhat larger than that of the opening tube of a fuel nozzle. The collar provides through-passage openings which, with the fuel nozzle inserted, produce a flow connection between the filling tube and filling chamber.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device forming a moving handrail for an accelerated moving walkway. The device including a rail which carries backing carriages and which converges towards the rail carrying the carriages that support the handrail handholds in a zone situated between the divergence zone and the turn-around zone; in at least the divergence zone, said rail follows a cam outline having an oscillatory profile in which the length of each wave is equal to the distance between a first one and a third one of the consecutive backing carriages, each placed at a respective end of the wave that they flank.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a spindle unit which is able two work both in a low speed powerful roughing regime and medium and high speed precision semi-finishing and finishing. The spindle unit includes a body, a shaft placed into the body, journal bearings between the body and the shaft, and at least one journal-thrust ball bearing assembly placed between the body and the shaft. A hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder is used to move the shaft in an axial direction. The spindle unit further has a pad placed on at least one side of the hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder. As a result of this construction, the spindle unit can work as a fully restricted spindle unit with and without additional ball bearing support.
Abstract: A holster stock for pistols comprises a shoulder piece (11) and a holding part (12). The pistol has a housing (2) with a grip (3) which projects downward and is at least partially hollow, and has a slide (5) which is guided on the upper part (4) of the housing. The holding part (12) of the holster stock is attached to the grip (3) of the pistol. To combine a firm connection to the pistol with a good grip feel, the holding part (12) has a lower strut (14) and an upper strut (13). The struts run approximately in the firing direction. The lower strut (14) ends in a guide strip (20) which points upward and is inserted from underneath the grip (3) into guides (35) in the interior of the grip (3) while the upper strut (13) bears against the upper part (4) of the housing (1).
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for thermally profiling preforms prior to blow molding. The system includes a pallet for holding a plurality of preforms and a station, such as a heating oven, for thermally conditioning the preforms. In a first embodiment, the pallet comprises a self aligning pallet which is movable towards and away from the heating oven. In a second embodiment, the pallet holding the preforms is fixed in position and the heating oven is movable towards and away from the preforms. The pallet further includes rotatable mandrels for supporting the preforms and a programmable motor for rotating the preforms a desired amount and at a desired speed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to gene and peptide sequences of a diabetes-specific endogenous retrovirus which is derived from type 1 diabetes patients. In particular, the present invention relates to a whole genome of the diabetes-specific variant of endogenous retrovirus (ERV-9) purified from pancreatic tissues of type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus [IDDM]) patients and its genes and peptide and their sequences, which can be used as a diagnosing reagent for type 1 diabetes and as an immunogen.
The diabetes-specific retrovirus expressed exclusively in pancreatic beta cells was purified from deceased type 1 diabetes patients. Subsequently, the retroviral gene sequences were determined, and by analyzing the amino acid sequence of the peptide deduced from the gene, 21 domains of the peptide having hydrophilicity and immuno-dominancy were identified.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a circular building structure which comprises a plurality of columnar structures, each of which extends from a point below ground level to a desired height above ground level and wall structures positioned between the columnar structures and forming a substantially circular exterior wall with the columnar structures. Abstract: There is provided a plastic waste decomposing apparatus which is capable of quickly and efficiently separating from a liquid phase polymer a vapor component produced from the liquid phase polymer so as to suppress generation of carbon following a decomposition reaction, and further capable of performing the decomposition reaction in the state where the temperature of the whole liquid phase polymer is uniform, so as to efficiently recover the vapor component of a desired molecular weight, so that decomposition of plastic waste can be carried out at a reasonable cost.
Abstract: A belt-type carrier system is described, that comprises a guide rail structure having straight and curved sections. The guide rail structure has at least one track extending therealong. A belt extends along the guide rail structure. A drive device is provided for driving the belt along the guide rail structure. A spring plate is put on and fixed to a part of the belt. A flexible mounting member is mounted on the spring plate. The flexible mounting member is flexed when an external stress is applied thereto. A carrier base structure is provided which has at least one follower that runs on the track of the guide rail structure when the carrier base structure moves along the guide rail structure. A universal joint structure is arranged between the flexible mounting member and the carrier base structure.
Abstract: A process for the production of a multi-chamber packaging tube of plastic material, comprising a tube body portion with a tube head thereon, and at least one separating wall accommodated in the tube body portion and the tube head. To mount the tube head to the tube body portion by means of a tool including a die and a bar as respective tool halves, the bar is loaded with a separating wall and subsequently a tube body portion or vice-versa.
