In order to create a testing device which dispenses with the need for expensive and time-consuming preliminary tests to determine the settings for the tests, the impactor (20) is equipped with an acceleration mechanism (21) which can perform both positively and negatively accelerated movements in a controlled manner while an additional impactor (30) is provided that acts upon the seat carriage (3).
