Abstract: The fuel injector has a first means defining a number of flowpaths each having an inlet for receiving air and an outlet for discharging a fuel/air mixture. One or more arrays of vanes are each positioned to impart swirl to an associated one or more of the flowpaths. Second means are provided for introducing the fuel to the air.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine is provided that includes one or more rotor assemblies, one or more shroud segments, and an actuator. The rotor assemblies are rotatable around an axially extending rotational axis, and each rotor assembly has a plurality of blades. Each blade has a blade tip. The one or more shroud segments each has a blade seal surface disposed radially outside of the one or more rotor assemblies. The blade tips and blade seal surfaces (collectively referred to as the blade seal surface) have mating conical geometries and a clearance distance extending between the blade tips and blade seal surface. The blade tips and blade seal surface are disposed at an angle relative to the axial centerline of the engine, which angle is greater than zero. The actuator is selectively operable to axially move one or both of the shroud segments and rotor assemblies relative to the other of the shroud segments and rotor assemblies to alter the clearance distance.

Abstract: Rear axle suspension system for motor vehicles, in which the wheel carriers on both sides are coupled to the body of the vehicle by at least one longitudinal link (9, 10), one transverse link (12) and a further transverse link (15, 16). In order to ensure that the axle kinematics distinguish between spring compression in the same direction and spring compression in opposite directions and a side force steering effect occurs, the transverse link (12) is a single connecting link which is connected to the two wheel carriers (3, 4) via first joints (5, 6) and connects both wheel carriers (3, 4), and the center of which (19) is guided, with respect to the body of the vehicle, in the longitudinal center plane of the vehicle, by a straight-guide (20 to 24). The straight-guide (20 to 24) is a Watt linkage (23, 24, 20).
Abstract: A gas turbine engine is piloted with a pilot flow of fuel delivered to a combustor as a liquid. A first additional flow of the fuel is also delivered to the combustor as a liquid. A second additional flow of the fuel is vaporized and delivered to the combustor as a vapor. A fuel injector may have passageways associated with each of the three flows.
Abstract: A switching power source device of resonance type is provided which comprises an output voltage detector 18 for detecting output voltage on a load 13 to produce a detection signal; and a control circuit 2 for applying on-off signals Vg1, Vg2 to each control terminal of first and second MOS-FETs 3, 4 in response to the detection signal from the output voltage detector 18. Control circuit 2 comprises a frequency control circuit 23 for controlling the on-off operation of first and second MOS-FETs 3, 4 in response to the level of detection signal from output voltage detector 18 to decide the switching frequency of first and second MOS-FETs 3, 4.

Abstract: A method for forming an investment casting core comprises cutting a patterned core precursor from refractory metal-based sheet. The cutting forms recast along the cuts. An oxide is grown on non-recast areas. The recast is substantially chemically removed but substantially leaving the oxide. The core precursor may then be shaped.

Abstract: There is provided a resin gear 1 capable of improving the strength of a key receiving portion, which is engageable with a key of a driving shaft, to prevent the key receiving portion from being broken by external force applied during rotation. In the resin gear 1, an outside rim 6 is connected to an inside hub 4 by a web 7 in radial directions. On the side of one end of the hub 4, a key receiving portion 10 for engaging a key of a driving shaft 2 is formed. The key receiving portion 10 has a side wall 1 for preventing relative rotation of the key 8 to the hub 4, and a bottom wall 12 for allowing the key 8 and hub 4 from being positioned in directions parallel to the driving shaft 2.
Abstract: A device for the production of dough from ingredients intended for human consumption as well as from a liquid, water in particular, having a mixing chamber designed to receive and accommodate the ingredients as well as a dough produced from the former wherein conveying means for transporting the ingredients into the mixing chamber are mounted in the mixing unit. Kneading means is provided and includes a nozzle unit for the injection of the liquid into the mixing chamber and the ingredients. The nozzle unit is designed for the injection of the liquid under high pressure to intermixture the ingredients in a mass of dough-like consistency for the production of dough.
