  • Patent number: 7294249
Abstract: Microtechnologically prepared component as a flow cytometer. The component contains a preparation area to specifically influence and separate the particles, preferably by dielectrophoresis, a measuring channel area for characterizing the particles, and a sorting area for sorting the particles identified in the measuring channel area by dielectrophoresis. The sorting includes switching elements which permit active guidance of the particles into two or more subchannels corresponding to the criteria which have been registered in the measuring channel area. With a component configured in this way for the use of a flow cytometer, quick and precise sorting of particles, in particular biological cells in a suspension, can be implemented.

Abstract: Disclosed is herein a magnetic recording medium useful for high density magnetic recording, which contains an optimum composition of Pt so as to have a uniform local coercivity distribution and grain size distribution, and fine grains, and a method of manufacturing the same. The magnetic recording medium includes a 400 ? (Co82Cr18)100-xPtx/1100 ? Ti alloy thin film containing 1 to 14 atom % Pt. Additionally, the method includes a first step of layering a Ti thin film on a glass substrate, a second step of depositing a CoCrPt alloy thin film on the Ti thin film, and a third step of depositing Si3N4 on the CoCrPt alloy thin film. At this time, the CoCrPt alloy thin film contains a predetermined composition of Pt controlled by a CoCr alloy target having a Pt chip positioned thereon. Thereby, the magnetic recording medium having microscopic magnetic property and structural property suitable to a high density magnetic recording medium is realized.

  • Patent number: 7282285
Abstract: A cell stack assembly (102) coolant system comprises a coolant exhaust conduit (110) in fluid communication with a coolant exhaust manifold (108) and a coolant pump (112). A coolant inlet conduit (120) enables transportation of the coolant to the coolant inlet manifold. The coolant system further includes a bypass conduit (132) in fluid communication with the coolant exhaust manifold and the coolant inlet manifold, while a bleed valve (130) is in fluid communication with the coolant exhaust conduit and a source of gas. Operation of the bleed valve enables venting of the coolant from the coolant channels, and through a shut down conduit (124). An increased pressure differential between the coolant and reactant gases forces water out of the pores in the electrode substrates (107,109). An ejector (250) prevents air form inhibiting the pump. Pulsed air is blown (238,239,243,245) through the coolant channels to remove more water.

  • Patent number: 7280921
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of visualizing large-scale protein interaction data, comprising the steps of (1) producing an initial layout by placing all nodes of protein interaction data on the surface of a sphere by increasing horizontal and vertical angles of polar coordinates; and (2) yielding a graph by iterating a process moving each node of the initial layout to an equilibrium position considering global spring forces between non-adjacent nodes as well as local spring forces between adjacent nodes on a predetermined number of times, by which large-scale protein interaction data is effectively visualized in a three-dimensional space. The method for visualization of the present invention, which is much faster than the conventional algorithms, can be used for interactive analysis, as well as provide an integrated system capable of directly visualizing query results from a protein-protein interaction database.

  • Patent number: 7281078
Abstract: A storage control device of bank structure is provided which comprises a CPU 1 and a storage 2 connected to CPU 1. Storage 2 detects and temporarily holds one of the bank addresses 0DF00h-7DF07h of the bank memories 9 to be read out next by CPU 1 when one of the bank memories 9 is read out by CPU 1 so that storage 2 supplies the held bank address 0DF00h-7DF07h to a memory control device 3 which thereby is switched to a next bank memory when CPU 1 produces a next retrieval signal. Accordingly, CPU 1 of small capacity reads information from storage of larger capacity to operate a controlled system connected to CPU 1 of the storage control device.
