Abstract: A binder for mine tailings and aggregate used as a backfill for an underground void comprises ferrous slag, and cement kiln dust, optionally with lime kiln dust; the binder displays strength characteristics better than or comparable to those achieved with conventional binders based on Portland cement and slag.
Abstract: A centrifugal pump with a floating ring seal (34) provided in a sealing chamber (32) for pumped fluid and web-like flat pieces arranged in the sealing area (32) between the outer wall and the floating ring seal (34) extending in a longitudinal section approximately parallel to the pump shaft (14). At least one closable ventilation opening (47) is arranged in the head area of the sealing chamber (32), in addition to one blade-like flat piece (60, 60a) which is disposed on the peripheral wall (48) on both sides of the ventilation opening (47). From a cross-sectional point of view, both flat pieces (60, 60a) are inclined towards each other and define an antechamber with a slit (70) which is parallel to the pump shaft (14) at a distance from the peripheral wall. Preferably, the blade-like flat pieces (60, 60a) are fixed to the radial wall (55) and the free blade edge parallel thereto defines a radial slit with the other radial wall.
Abstract: A support arrangement comprising a first support part for connection to a suspension strut and to a steering device of a motor vehicle, and a second support part for holding a wheel bearing, the first support part and the second support part having wall regions formed in a metal-casting process, the first support part and the second support part being connected to each other by means of screws, two brake support arms being formed on the second support part for attachment of the brake device, and the one brake support arm having wall regions which are formed such that they are substantially thinner than the corresponding wall regions of the other brake support arm. By producing the support arrangement in two parts a considerable saving in weight over producing it in one part can be achieved, with all safety regulations being observed.

Abstract: A centrifugal separator for separating oil suspended in air and especially intended for use with aircraft engines includes a rotatable chamber filled with a relatively rigid porous material and is driven by a hollow shaft. An inlet for the mixture of air and oil is provided in one end wall of the chamber and separate outlets for oil and air are provided in the outer and inner cylindrical walls of the chamber respectively. Oil droplets are formed in the rigid porous material and ejected out through the oil outlet under centrifugal forces while air relatively free from oil exits the air outlet and enters into the inside of the hollow shaft under the pressure difference. A cut-away area is formed in the rigid porous material to facilitate ejection from the separator of the oil droplets formed in the porous material to clear the passages of the porous material and facilitate a continuous movement of the mixture of air and oil mist.

Abstract: The invention concerns a cooking utensil comprising a bowl and a removable grip handle. The bowl comprises over at least part of its periphery a rim projecting outwards from the bowl side wall, at least an orifice for receiving the handle passing through the rim wall, while the handle end comprises an upper part limited by a stop and designed to be inserted from above the orifice up to the stop and a lower part designed to extend beneath the rim. Abstract: A duct-type spacer grid for nuclear fuel assemblies is disclosed. In this spacer grid, a plurality of duct-shaped grid elements, individually having an octagonal cell, are closely arranged in parallel and are welded together, thus forming a matrix structure. The grid elements do not pass across the center of the subchannel of the assembly, thus effectively reducing pressure loss. Each of the grid elements is formed as an independent cell, and so they effectively resist against a lateral impact. A plurality of integral type swirl flow vanes, having different heights or same height, axially extend from the top of the grid to be positioned within each subchannel. The swirl flow vanes are bent outwardly, and so they do not contact the fuel rods during an insertion of the fuel rods into the cells. In the spacer grid, the fuel rods are supported within the cells by line contact springs without using any dimple.

Abstract: The invention relates to the production of forms or similar from foamed metal based on aluminum or other metals. Semi-finished product bodies or similar consisting of a foamable semi-finished product material obtained by compacting a mixture of at least one matrix metal powder and at least one expanding agent which releases a foaming gas are placed into a foaming mould or similar where they are geometrically arranged in the desired manner and then heated to a temperature in the range of melting temperature of the matrix metal. Once the mould has been filled, the foaming process is concluded and the resulting foamed metal forms are shaped out.
Abstract: Fertilizer with a chelate element is provided which comprises 0.01 to 4 parts of a compound of a metal for forming the central metal of a chelate compound, 1 to 5 parts of an oxycarboxylic acid, 2 to 8 parts of a potassic element, 0.1 to 1 part of a nitrogenous element, and 0.01 to 2 parts of a phosphorous element by weight, indicating a pH value of 6.0 to 7.5 when mixed with water.
