  • Patent number: 7991776
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for storage and retrieval of resumé images in a manner which preserves the appearance, organization, and information content of the original document. In addition, summaries or “outlines” of resumé images, broken down into multiple fields, are stored, and can be searched field by field. A user interface is provided which is based on a familiar paper-based method already in common use, thus reducing the training required to effectively use the system.

  • Patent number: 7984599
Abstract: Fasteners, and related methods, for securing deck boards to a support joist are disclosed. In one embodiment, the fastener comprises a base portion and a cap portion on the base portion. In some embodiments, the base portion includes an opening formed therethrough for receiving a securing device, and legs extending from an upper surface of the base portion and between edges of adjacent deck boards to define a spacing between the adjacent deck boards. The cap portion can include an opening for receiving the securing device therethrough to secure the fastener to the support joist. In addition, the cap portion may include legs extending around the base portion and comprising teeth extending therefrom that bite into grooves formed in the edges of the adjacent deck boards when the securing device secures the fastener to the support joist, thereby securing the deck boards to the support joist.

  • Patent number: 7983369
Abstract: A data output circuit of a semiconductor memory apparatus can include a clock synchronization unit (which is driven by a power supply voltage) that can be configured to receive data and output first synchronization data and second synchronization data in synchronization with a clock; a voltage converting unit that can be configured to convert the first and second synchronization data, which can swing between the power supply voltage and a ground voltage, into first and second converted data, which can swing between an I/O power supply voltage and the ground voltage; and a data output driver, which is driven by the I/O power supply voltage, for outputting the first converted data and the second converted data as output data.

  • Patent number: 7981797
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a phase-change random access memory device includes forming an interlayer insulating film on a semiconductor substrate, on which a bottom structure is formed, and patterning the interlayer insulating film to form a contact hole, forming a spacer on the side wall of the contact hole; forming a dielectric layer in the contact hole, and removing the spacer to form a bottom electrode contact hole. Therefore, the contact area between the bottom electrode contact and the phase-change material layer can be minimized.

  • Patent number: 7983477
Abstract: A method of generating a stereoscopic image is disclosed. The method includes defining at least two, three or more regions in a scene representing a region of interest, a near regions and/or a far region. This is followed by forming an image pair for each region, this image pair containing the information relating to objects in or partially in their respective region. The perceived depth within the regions is altered to provide the idea or best perceived depth within the region of interest and acceptable or more compressed perceived depths in the other regions. The image pairs are then mapped together to form a display image pair for viewing on a display device.

  • Patent number: 7982954
Abstract: Disclosed herein are light collectors for use in projection applications. The light collectors gather light from surface emitting sources (e.g., LEDs) of differing color (or same color in some embodiments) using input lightpipes. A light collection system splits the light into orthogonal linear polarization states and efficiently propagates the light by use of a polarizing beamsplitter (PBS) and a reflecting element. Further, the light collection system may efficiently homogenize the light using an output lightpipe in a lightpath from the output of the PBS and the reflecting element. In addition, the light collection system may present a single, linear polarization at the output through the use of a half-wave switch (LC cell) in some embodiments or ColorSelect filter in other embodiments. The light collection system may be integrated into a single, monolithic glass, plastic or combination glass/plastic assembly.

  • Patent number: 7982262
Abstract: A NAND based memory device uses inversion bit lines in order to eliminate the need for implanted bit lines. As a result, the cell size can be reduced, which can provide greater densities in smaller packaging. In another aspect, a method for fabricating a NAND based memory device that uses inversion bit lines is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7981705
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a vertical type light-emitting diode, a multilayered structure of group III nitride semiconductor compounds is epitaxy deposited on an irregular surface of a substrate. The substrate is then removed to expose an irregular surface of the multilayered structure corresponding to the irregular surface of the substrate. A portion of the exposed irregular surface of the multilayered structure is then etched for forming an electrode contact surface on which an electrode layer is subsequently formed. With this method, no specific planarized region is required on the irregular surface of the substrate. As a result, planarization treatment of the substrate is not necessary. The same substrate with the irregular surface can be reused for fabricating vertical and horizontal light-emitting diodes.
