  • Patent number: 6088014
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device of the present invention capable of enlarging and displaying to a high picture quality even when display data having a lower resolution than a liquid crystal panel is inputted, is provided with storage element groups every drain line within latches of a liquid crystal driver. A portion of the storage element groups simultaneously captures display data. In doing so, the same liquid crystal apply voltage is outputted from drain lines corresponding to these storage element groups. Storage element groups corresponding to neighboring drain lines then simultaneously capture display data so as to enlarge an image in the horizontal direction. The rate of enlargement can be regulated by changing the number of storage element groups simultaneously capturing display data.

  • Patent number: 6088725
Abstract: A mobile computer supporting system realizes communication even when a communication protocol address is to be dynamically changed due to movement of the computer, or the like. When a PC has moved, it notifies an AMS of a changed present address together with its home address. The AMS stores the home address and present address of each terminal, so as to correspond to each other, into an address correspondence table. When a PC sends and receives information to and from the PC, a socket hook processing of the PC acquires the information when the home address of the PC is added to the information. The socket hook processing inquires of the AMS of the present address of the PC using the home address of the PC, converts the home address of the PC added with the information to the present address obtained by the inquiry, and sends the information after conversion to a socket processing.

  • Patent number: 6085185
Abstract: A multimedia database system effectively retrieves the contents in an optional storage position of an optional medium among a large amount of video and audio media. When a user puts an annotation to a specific range of a medium, the system registers an annotation object comprising the object ID of the target medium, specific range, and annotation information in a table. Next, when an annotation is put to a specific range of a medium once, the system automatically produces annotation objects for all media in the citation relation to it. The system manages the link relation between the citation destination and the citation source by a management table which is newly installed. The system retrieves the table and displays an annotation list coincident with the retrieval condition.

  • Patent number: 6084729
Abstract: A time counting device, a cache memory and a copy control circuit are added to a conventional disk drive so that recorded information is copied periodically and automatically. Alternatively, a cache memory, a copy control circuit, a reference control circuit, a first time counting device and a second time counting device are added to the conventional disk drive so that information which remains recorded for a predetermined period of time after its last recording date is automatically copied. According to another embodiment, a reference signal is recorded in advance and a reproduced output is periodically measured. If the reproduced output is lower than a reference value, recorded information is automatically copied. According to yet another embodiment, the temperature in the disk drive is measured by a thermometer 18, and if the temperature is higher than a reference value, information is automatically copied at shorter intervals than when the temperature is less than the reference value.

  • Patent number: 6078301
Abstract: An image display apparatus capable of adjusting a display picture by an input unit through a computer body is disclosed. When the user inputs a control instruction for adjusting the display picture of the display unit by the input unit connected to the computer body, a control signal addition circuit prepares a control signal Sc corresponding to the control instruction and adds the control signal to a video signal R, G or B or a synchronizing signal Hs or Vs produced by a display control circuit during a vertical retrace period. A control signal separation circuit separates the added control signal Sc from the video signal R, G or B or the synchronizing signal Hs or Vs produced by the control signal addition circuit. A display control circuit produces adjustment signals Sa and Sb on the basis of the control signal from the control signal separation circuit to adjust a video circuit and a deflection circuit.

  • Patent number: 6077027
Abstract: In order to manufacture a semiconductor device of high performance a small-sized transfer arm mechanism, capable of retaining a predetermined transfer stroke, is put to practical use without any increase in the height of the arm mechanism. The transfer arm includes arcuate portions having center axes different from each other, and restraint generating means for generating restraints in directions where the individual center axes are attracted. This way, a plurality of arms are joined by joints having a structure for transmitting rolling motions to the arcuate portions contacting each other to thereby control the drive shaft of the arcuate portions rotationally and thereby move the arms. This transfer arm mechanism is used in various environments including semiconductor manufacturing, such as DRAMs.
