  • Patent number: 4326012
Abstract: A building unit for exterior walls and the like comprising a molded block of glass having a recess in the side face which is to face the exterior, the recess having a side wall and an open outer end on which a fresnel lens is disposed, the inner end of the recess having a solar cell disposed therein so that sunlight passing through the fresnel lens impinges on the solar cell for the generation of electric power together with a battery disposed within a cavity molded in the block connected by a circuit to the solar cell for storing the generated electric power for subsequent use as needed in a residence or the like. A further embodiment has attached to the interior wall a black painted duct containing vertical radiant fins. This unit contains a "window" through which the concentrated radiation is directed by the lens arrangement of the side walls and front lens to create a highly energetic radiant impingement upon the black duct heating it.

  • Patent number: 4324745
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device for automatically regulating a choke valve mounted in a carburetor. The device comprises a housing fixed to the body of a carburetor, a bimetal coil provided in the housing and connected to a choke valve shaft urging the choke valve to a closed or open position, an electric heater device located adjacent to the bimetal coil, and a heat conductive member interposed between the bimetal coil and the heater device. Each surface of the heat conductive member is kept in contact with both the heater device and the bimetal coil. Particularly, the bimetal coil is formed in a conical shape and mounted on a retainer, thus being operable to press the heat conductive member with its compressive spring force so as to receive the heat output from the heater device efficiently and quickly by direct heat conduction.

  • Patent number: 4314733
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a space saving filing cabinet designed to be deployed in a closet. The cabinet is an elongated narrow rectangular solid with a mounting tab on the top which captures the hanger bar in the closet and stabilizer legs pivotally mounted to the bottom of the cabinet which fan out and stabilize the cabinet when in use. Access is gained to the contents of the filing cabinet by withdrawing the inner cabinet from the outer cabinet. The inner cabinet slides forward on tracks mounted inside the outer cabinet. Once extracted the inner cabinet reveals drawers situated on the side face of the inner cabinet. Each drawer is a truncated rectangular box provided with a hinged door and two knobs. Each drawer is mounted within the inner cabinet by wheels which follow grooves located in the inner cabinet, so that the bottom of each drawer will swing outwardly from the inner cabinet providing easy access to the contents of the drawer.
